First of all, let me say that the best thing about this place is the staff and in particular the manager. He was professional, caring, helpful beyond what was expected. He really helped us and did so in a way that made us feel that he really cared. Other than the staff this place should be raised to the ground and rebuilt. Pros (+) Clean rooms, easy/quick check in.
Cons (-) Swimming pool was not clean, Breakfast hours were over too early, perhaps it should run until 10-10:30 on weekends.

Pros (+) Location is within walking distance of historic Portsmouth district, and the ferry to downtown Norfolk. Suites have mini-kitchenettes. Roof was under repair from recent tornado, but was not noticeable for open areas. Starbucks is across the street.
Cons (-) The motel appears a little worn, and the parking lot is small ~ fills up quickly and may pose a problem when parking late.

Pros (+) The Middle eastern male worker behind the front desk was very gracious, helpful and accomodating.
Cons (-) The 1st room issued to us was on the first floor, which scares the heck out of me. However, the gentleman behind the front desk quickly changed the room for us. What a terrible mistake, the room walls was peeling, looked old and it had doo-doo on the seat.
