very little to like. had to wait nearly an hour for a reserved car to become available. initial interaction with staff extremely frustrating (don't know when one will become available)...had to talk with a manager who, in fairness, was apologetic. added fees and taxes added 50% to the rate quoted by Kayak (Kayak's fault to not disclose?). Avis then tried to overcharge upon return; had to call them to correct. Will avoid renting through Kayak and Avis in the future.

When we arrived at Oakland Airport to drop off the car, one of the workers saw that we were traveling with a toddler, a car seat and a lot of luggage. To save us the trouble of having to unload everything, carry it and wait for the shuttle, he drove us directly to the airport terminal in our rental car, and then returned the car for us. While this is not normally part of his job, he went above and beyond to help us. This made our day and was a great start to our Christmas holiday.

Pick-up truck

I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment and The lady who was working was arguing with another client about returning his car and it was very uncomfortable. They continued on for about 30 minutes before looking at me and telling me to go away because they have no cars. She then tried to explain to me that the rental car company doesn’t have enough cars and how it’s so hard for her and all she was doing was complaining about her job and how much stress it is to work there. I had to leave in the middle of the conversation cause she wouldn’t stop talking about how horrible her life was and the company she works for is I then left and went across the street and rented a car from enterprise with no issue for the same price.

Passenger Van

I rented a Ford Transit van to hold 7 passengers and large amounts of gear for a baseball tournament. Upon arrival I was told the vehicle was not available and a comparable vehicle would cost $500 more for the week. Instead we booked a similar car for the original cost. And now I am fighting for a refund with no reply.

Hidden charges. Confusion among Kyak, Expedia, Thrifty, and Hertz, resulted in different rates, fees and charges that I had not approved. Horrible experience overall.

The worst rental car experience ever! I travel to San Jose once a month and rely heavily on the car rental service industry for transportation. I made reservations, arrived for my pick-up and then nightmare began! They required a $500 deposit for the sedan with a $174.94 rental fee for the day. Last month Alamo's security deposit was $200 and have the rental price. I return the vehicle after my trip, board my flight and return home here to Los Angeles. I then see an unauthorized transaction for $100 that very night, and another $100 the following evening. Trying to reach Thrifty is a nightmare in itself since its system is automated and they DID NOT even return my detailed email of the issue. I had to call my bank and file a claim on the two extra charges and cancel my debit card!!! This entire experience with "thrifty" has been the worst. WILL NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN.

The first pickup was easy except the pickup car was not where it was supposed to be. It wasn't discovered until we went to the security location to leave the garage. We have gone to the correct space, but it turned out to be the wrong car. So we had to return the car back into Eurocar's spaces. The staff was very helpful, but we lost 15 minutes moving luggage and re-paring our phones. The big shock came when we received our full bill the next day. All the add ons that were not clearly spelled out were all there. That added about almost 50% to the final bill. I never saw so many add one in any previous car rental from any airport. Sorry, but next time Eurocar may be way down on my choices

Very long wait for pickup at LAX, slow moving queue at FOX, and ended up with a large Jeep SUV (Terrible to drive), after ordering midsized SUV. Final annoyance was that I was charged $150 when quoted $105. Tried to ring to dispute the charges but no answer.
