Pros: The amenities were awesome, especially the breakfast. Our location was great and the staff was very helpful. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was really nice.
Cons: The room was nice but the chairs could use an update as the cushions were pretty flat. They could add a light at the desk and put the coffee pot elsewhere.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a relaxing time in the early afternoon sitting outside enjoying the view and comfortable light breeze during their wine and snacks reception hour. The view is just awesome.
Cons: We’ve stayed before and had a balcony which we didn’t have this time. At this time f the year it’s best to splurge a bit more and get the suite with a balcony and harbor view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was wonderful. It had a beautiful large tub and it was a great extra to have the fireplace in the room. Along with the view, it ended up being one of the nicest experiences I've had at a hotel.
9.5 Excellent

Cons: Noting
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful service and the bed Ritz we have stayed !
Cons: Almost everything
6.3 Good
Pros: The Ritz is a trade mark name in quality. That is what we trusted. The view, the beach..all the things we liked
Cons: The toilet leaked. Hotel did send someone to fix. The seat on toilet was crooked. The outdoor gas fire place, Intermittent in starting. The rooms felt out dated. For a property to charge $799 a night, the guest should feel when they leave exceeded their experience. All of the staff were great. They offered us $100 credit. When you look at the cost paid over the two days, I can not honestly recommend this hotel. I expected more. I feel Ritz believes the view is worth the cost. The hotel should expect to deliver more. Being HOnest..
5.8 Okay
Pros: The view is very nice. The beach is lovely
Cons: Simple things were difficult here. Some staff was friendly and helpful others were definitely not friendly not helpful. Facilities are old and show age. Rooms are very noisy. Restaurant lost our reservations 3 Times. Over all our experience was not that good. We will not return to this hotel next time.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Such high cost hotel provide small two tiny bottle of water and we need water for drink and they brought Fuji large three bottle and charged me $42.00 which is really ridiculous and they said it is no return for water. Do you think it is good service such high cost hotel???????
Cons: At least they provide water for thirsty guest, tiny two small bottle were not enough such long drive guest.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the small " cooked-food-to-go" area to buy food. It was very reasonably priced and good. I didn't have time to eat in the restaurants and this feature worked great for me. The staff and service is outstanding. Very helpful. Pleasant and beautiful resort. It isn't brand new, but you can't beat the location and beauty of the place.
Cons: I really have no criticisms. Rooms are pricey but the service, ocean views and location can demand that.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: Our initial reception was badly handled
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is amazing and worked really well with food allergies. View is amazing
Cons: Pool staff was not adequately staffed . We always had to wait a long time for a server
7.5 Good

5.8 Okay
Cons: The service at the hotel was horrendous

Cons: The 180 stairs to reach beach. Would love a beach shuttl Pools too cold and spa. too hot No towels in exercise room to wipe down machines Having to have Valet bring up car for forgotten items left in car Limited OverVue menu
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Staff and breakfast were amazing
Cons: Wish they had queen rooms vs. 2 doubles
7.0 Good
Pros: Cleanliness, beautiful grounds
Cons: Couldn’t see out windows very well as we were in a “tower” room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really gorgeous property - lovely pool areas and beautiful rooms with top notch everything. The bed was a dream! The public beach is down the driveway and across the street, so there is a walk but I think the resort overall is truly memorable and would highly recommend it.
Cons: Check in was a but rough. The staff person at our check in was not the most helpful since we arrived a bit early and she seemed perturbed about that but all the other staff was great.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Valet were very busy and provide fast attentive and frieldly service
Cons: Room was never cleaned and on the second night we mentioned it to the hotel night manager and to our surprise we were woke up at 12:30 with a maid knocking on the door with instructed to change sheets, towels not refreshed (even after we asked), no coffee on second and third days, dirty glass/mugs in the room, shower was doorless and flooded the bathroom during each shower, dirty cleaning rags left in the room, food took entirely way too long, uncooked food served, nothing was done to correct or rectify any issues we had.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Parking; having to valet every time you leave. The workers were great...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything.i stay here every time I come to OC.LOVE THIS PROPERTY
Cons: $39 parking fee

Cons: The pricing was high
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Laguna Cliffs was amazing! The views were breathtaking and the hotel offered all of the amenities we were looking for!
6.8 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: The bar and downstairs restaurant staff were not accommodating and not very friendly. We arrived at the buffet 10 minutes before it closed and were told twice by two different personnel that they were closing and we were made to feel uncomfortable for arriving when we did. They were inconvenienced by us and I suppose they were hoping to close early. I had no idea that the buffet ended at 10:50am according to your staff. We love the location of your hotel and we are Marriott Members. We have always had a great experience at other hotels. We will definitely have to rethink our next trip to Dana Point. The location of the hotel is a 10 unfortunately, the staff needs training in customer service!!!
4.3 Okay
Pros: The valet staff. The restaurant breakfast staff. The plants.
Cons: The housekeeping policies/standards. Snippy Manager: says, “Moving forward...”, to shut you up, when you’re ready for a nap and call to complain that your room is unmade at 4:30 pm. The fake grass is everywhere. The hotel circulation. The lack of a sense of place. Everything rotated around the dismal snack bar. The parking fees!!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, convenient parking, plenty of towels, clean room. Appreciate the hotel’s effort to save the planet by washing towels less often. That was very important to me
4.5 Okay
Pros: The King Bed was comfortable They brought in a cot for our kids so they had enough space to sleep but cot barely fit
Cons: Flusher did not work The room had a musty smell and is in need of renovation Parking difficult to find and expensive, on a busy street so not quiet The Marriott Cliffs across the street was not much more/night and much nicer as we had family stay there.

This condo is 3.9 mi (6.3 km) from Mission San Juan Capistrano and 1.5 mi (2.5 km) from Doheny State Beach. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: it was fun being by the ocean. The room was VERY clean. No view but we managed.
Cons: No view but we managed.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: We couldn’t go outside on the patio because of a fowl smell (cat urine). Checkout is too early. The garbage cans in underground parking area were overflowing and smelled. Rooms were outdated, the lamps by the bed didn’t work.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location and great room! Will be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was AMAZING
Cons: The only trouble was with the door. The key card hardly worked
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Spacious, clean condo, well-equipped kitchen, sparkling pool and hot tub with lifts for disabled guests. Friendly, helpful staff. Well maintained. Room for yoga, easy walk to the beach. Our 2-BR, 2-bath unit included a large jet tub in the master bath. Balcony is large enough to seat 4+ for meals with a lovely view of the Pacific. Very convenient to the ferry for Catalina -- an Uber was cheaper than parking. Many nearby grocery options, including Trader Joe's and Costco. We were not expecting the planned activities, which we would have enjoyed if staying longer.
Cons: We really had no complaints. It's true the train passes in front of the property, just on the other side of PCH, but we saw that when we booked, and the occasional train did not bother us. If you want to spend a lot of time at the pool or in the hot tub, be aware it is on the front of the property, but the glass walls help reduce the noise while allowing you to see the ocean.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything except the sofabed
Cons: The sofabed was very uncomfortable. Need new ones.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The amenities for your money is very affordable with very comfortable and clean accommodations
Cons: That i'm not staying longer. This place is fabulous
6.8 Good
Pros: Large room with a view. Bed, pillows and linens were comfortable. Towels were lush. Bathroom setup was functional with two separate sinks and a separate water closet (toilet0
Cons: When check-in time is 4pm, a 10am checkout time it too early! Our original room had not been cleaned. We went down to get a new room assignment with all our luggage. Then the second room was clean but 3 large housekeeping carts had been stored in it. The tub is somewhat of a hazard to shower in. While it has safety rails, the shower head is a reach to test the water. The closet door fell off of the overhead rail which made it awkward to open and close. When I checked out nothing was said about the inconvenience of the night before. The front desk clerk said, "sorry" but no real acknowledge of the inconvenience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location.
Cons: Check out is earlier then anywhere I’ve stayed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and there were so many items to make the stay away from home like home. We really loved using the jacuzzi tub! The room decor was very well picked and flowed nicely. We enjoyed the view from the pool and the easy access to the beach.
Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable, very hard and difficult to sleep in. The paintings on the wall constantly moved when the air conditioning was on, so the noise was very irritating. If you are on the back side of the hotel the view from your room is very lacking, just staring at a weed covered hill. The train noise was a little distracting as well since the tracks are right outside.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: Price, check- in time, check - out time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff extremely helpful and courteous!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and lovely views from our Harbour view room. Close to lots of choice for restaurants and cafes for food and bars for drinks. Reasonably quiet, apart from one early morning garbage truck. Nice pool and spa area, well maintained. Free on site parking. Reception staff helpful and friendly (especially nice service from a lady who I think was called Sky).
Cons: While everything was beautifully clean and not shabby at all, the decor is SO dated, could do with a re style new colours, furniture and bathroom updates. But I guess that is why the price is quite reasonable for Dana Point area. Breakfast included ok, shame there was so much plastic dishes, cutlery and containers going in the garbage no recycling, not great for the environment.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Bathrooms were really gross, the tub didn’t drain, the shower curtain was tattered, the sink area was just old and had chipped countertop. When I turned AC unit on to access the fan because there was so much humidity in room, black stuff came flying out. The blackout shades are useless because all the balconies have a bright light and it comes shining through. One positive, is that your breakfast lady takes pride in what she does and area is kept clean and well stocked. Hot tub could be wayyyyy warmer as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: When you first walk into the room it smells good! That’s a funny review point but often on the oven the rooms smell musty or damp due to climate but the room smelled good when we walked in. Pillows are fluffy, staff was amazing. Breakfast was decent. Loved the mirrors everywhere. Large mirror over the desk, full length on the door. Both sliding closet doors were mirrors. It’s nice to be able to see how you look before you leave. Pool and hot tub nice after a long day. Can’t beat the location, right on the harbor. Shopping and dinning in easy walking distance. Wonderful place to stay, is book here again!
Cons: My back didn’t super love the bed but it was good enough for a vacation stay.
6.3 Good
Cons: Bath/shower slow drain and hole on shower wall
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love this hotel.
Cons: Tub didn't drain well.
6.8 Good
Pros: Located next to the marina with many restaurants within walking distance
Cons: Motel like rooms with bathroom with vinyl floor and old dated bath fixtures and faucets. Noisy window air conditioner to cool the room.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Comfortable clean living area. We had fun hanging out on the deck.
Cons: Bathroom definitely needed an upgrade and it wouldn't hurt to clean under the mat in the tub once in a while.
4.3 Okay
Cons: The attendant who changed our room was nice
7.0 Good
Pros: Very close to the harbor Nice big room
Cons: VERY THIN walls and ceilings! Skip the breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This location is so enjoyable! It is within walking distance to beaches, the marina, multiple wonderful restaurants and so quiet. It is a gorgeous area. The hotel is doing some renovations but it really doesn’t bother your stay. Pool and hot tub were fine. Really a great place.
Cons: Would have liked more variety for the continental breakfast. Bagels and waffles were really blah.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable and I loved having a balcony.
Cons: The only problem I had was the barking dogs in the adjoining room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The best part of the hotel was the surrounding area. It’s walking distance to the baby beach and nearby shops and restaurants. They also allowed us to check-in a lot earlier than listed in the booking details.
Cons: It’s definitely aged, although they do have updated patio furniture in the pool area and are currently renovating the main dining area. The drainage system in our room was clogged with hair, preventing the water from draining. The tub was also poorly cleaned as it had hair from the previous guests on the walls.

Cons: Unfortunately, our room was a little stuffy with a smell of pet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was last very with excellent service from Simone who was very attentive (nay have been a manager)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like to wear their rooms are large and the Bedford so comfortable! The free breakfast was great!
Cons: I can’t think of anything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable and clean
Cons: Maybe it’s a cultural thing but breakfast on disposable plates and cups serving items such as vegetable crumble (with no identifiable vegetables) is not very appealing. The hotel is located near the entrance to a freeway with lots of land on site for parking. However the hotel charges an extra $16 per night for parking which is an absolute rort.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The room was large and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is very central.
Cons: The hotel is right near a railroad and the train whistles wake you several times a night. The breakfast is just ok. The waffles are the best thing to eat. The one night that there was a "reception" in the lobby the white wine was Chardonnay and it was terrible. There was no other choice. Chicken burgers were blah. There was an exit door behind our room and people were banging it at all hours of the night. It should be off limits after 11:00 p.m.
6.8 Good
Pros: Service at breakfast was great. The staff was very caring and attentive to our needs.
Cons: Beds were hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant updated room/suite. Quiet even though so close to freeway. Lovely outside seating area. I took my breakfast outside and it was a peaceful respite.
7.4 Good
Pros: I liked the modern room furnishings and the complimentary hot breakfast.
Cons: Finding parking was unexpectedly challenging. Also, being kept awake all night by the train whistle blowing all night long was agonizing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Not applicable
Cons: Not applicable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was great
Cons: Pool area
6.0 Good
Pros: Room size and accommodations
Cons: Housekeeping staff failed to clean the room on several occasions. Had to complain to the manager twice. Staff said the "Do NOT Disturb" sign was out which it wasn't. Also latest gimmick to raise revenue is daily parking charge of $16 per car.
7.5 Good
Pros: room was nice and clean and much larger than expected
Cons: maybe a view of the mountains instead of the fwy

Pros: the breakfast was great and so was the pool and hotel location.
Cons: We were placed in non smoking ( my 9 year daughter and husband have asthma ) our neigbor was smoking like a train and had dogs in her room that must of had fleas because my husband and son had several flea bites. There should be a different section for pets.
6.3 Good
Pros: Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Room faced the freeway, literally right off the off ramp. Traffic noise was not enjoyable. Water never got hot, warm at best.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was great and friendly staff
Cons: Dated rooms and bathrooms.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The facility was nearby the main attractions.
Cons: Although the beds were comfortable they were quite high off the floor.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing!!!
Cons: Old, not updated, depressing, right next to the freeway, even if sheets and towels are clean, everything looks dirty, awful dirty rug. Breakfast on cheapest paper plates with cheapest plastic forks and knifes (even at 99 c stores you find better ones).
7.5 Good
Pros: The pool coffee
Cons: For my choice the pillows are to big
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was very comfortable with all necessary amenities. Very nice hot buffet breakfast.
Cons: Hard to spot location from the street. Needs better signage. Access in and out is a bit tricky.

Cons: Noisy upstairs neighbors yelling and stomping around, slamming doors, running up and down the stairs all night long after midnight. The room wasn't ready at 4:00PM check-in time. I Didn't appreciate Getting jumped by Time-share salesperson before I got a chance to check-in.

Pros: Great spot. Suite was huge. Bedroom was perfectly sized. The walk-in shower is fantastic. BBQ which we didn't use was nice touch and it's a Webber! Place was more condo like than hotel. Kitchen was well stocked and you can even purchase beer on site.
6.8 Good
Pros: I like the fact that the room was spacious. The outside area was perfect also.
Cons: I didn’t like that the receptionist was rude. Cutting me off before I could even ask the question. Also in my room the master bedroom shower had no pressure I couldn’t even use that shower. Plus the water in the master bedroom was cold. I had to use the second restroom .

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and service. Room was nice with excellent AC. Also a $30 per day parking fee? Just a little steep for the average person.
Cons: I had a suite and the bathroom was way too small. Being a bigger guy, it was like working in a closet.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: We were charged USD 29 per night for parking which seems a little steep
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the view! Service was always on time! Staff very friendly!
Cons: Left room just before lunch and asked to have room cleaned! Returned around 5 and room was not cleaned!!! When staying at hotel the I think parking should be comped! Very dissatisfied with having to pay for parking! Tried of taking this survey over and over! Third time!!
7.5 Good
Pros: All
Cons: Views obscured
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Balcony with room was a nice feature.
Cons: Bathroom was crazy small like a motel 6...smaller. Also was never told about $25 self parking per night. Was a total surprise and I would have picked a different hotel. Thank you
4.0 Okay
Pros: Wifi was free...
Cons: Full ocean view isnt really what I expected. Blocked by trees and the camp site in front of the hotel. Just expected more of a view for what I paid.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was good. hotel staff was very accomadating.
7.0 Good
Cons: Too much noise in breakfast/ dinner area. Bad acoustics.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: How nice the establishment was!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfy room. Nice staff.
Cons: The room was advertised as an ocean view. The only view we had were 3 large palm trees in front of our balcony and a large row of trees surrounding the trailer campsite around the beach area.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, clean and big room
Cons: We didn't connect to the wifi yet still had a charge for "internet access". And although not the hotel's fault, the stench of weed could be smelled on our floor. The pool area is very small. No microwaves in the room but there was a small refrigerator. The bathrooms have a sliding door vs a regular door which does not offer much privacy when traveling as a family. Nice that we were given cookies at check in but they gave us 2 and we had 4 people. Not a huge deal but still.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The location was convenient and the staff members were friendly
Cons: Lots of traffic noise from nearby roadways and the train track running directly behind the hotel. The water main broke during my stay and there was no water for several hours. Had to check out without showering or cleaning up.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Loved everything about the hotel it was lovely, especially loved my room and the view, staff was nice too.
Cons: My wasn't too clean, one pillow had makeup on it as well as the sheets, there was trash on the floor next to the sink, every single day I was there was there was so uncomfortable because construction was going on right in front of my room, we couldn't sleep in, my kids would wake up to a jackhammer going off, couldn't be outside of balcony and my room was right in front of the ocean but it was so loud we would have to leave the hotel as soon as it started, it was such a cute hotel but a very frustrating situation.

Pros: The room was very large. We had an ocean view and a deck to sit outside.
Cons: The bathroom was very small.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was the only good thing. Sausage, eggs, gravy, waffles, cereal, fruit
Cons: Our room was hot the whole stay. After lowering the thermostat to 60* it stayed at 80* the whole time. I told front desk after the first night and they reassured it’d be fixed. It never got fixed. So our room stayed 80* for 3 nights. Very uncomfortable sleep.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly. Enjoyed their large selection of breakfast items. My room appeared to have been recently remodeled so I was very happy with it. I was thankful that the housekeeper turned over the makeup pouches I left behind.
Cons: I wish they had a swimming pool.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: The area outside of the room was very dirty. It needed to be swept. Paid extra for ocean view but was not worth it. Railroad track right in front of the room and can hear the train and the street traffic until late at night. The beach access is only by car as there’s no crosswalk. Will not return to this place.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room was newly renovated and very clean
Cons: Could not use my terrace because the door was swollen shut, but not that big of a loss because the view is of the ocean behind a train track and fence. Bbreakfast was a big disappointment. For a non smoking property there were smokers all outside in the public space
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location and the small friendly feel. We will definitely be back soon.
