Top 10 hotels in Santa Fe

Santa Fe, the oldest capital city in the United States and one of its highest in elevation (Santa Fe sits at a whopping 2,194 metres), epitomizes New Mexico’s tagline: the Land of Enchantment. This historic city, known for its unique blend of cultures, features low-slung adobe buildings that seamlessly blend with the natural landscape – an impressive mountain backdrop. My family has lived in Santa Fe on and off for more than 30 years, and its distinct charm, both rustic and refined, makes it one of my favourite cities to spend time in. The city’s hotels reflect its unique character, eschewing cookie-cutter designs for accommodations that blend old and new, large and small. Each hotel on this list embodies an undeniable Southwestern charm. From luxurious resorts to quaint inns, the best hotels in Santa Fe provide a perfect mix of comfort and style, ensuring that every stay is memorable.

1.

The Inn of The Five Graces

Address:

150 East DE Vargas Street

Price:

C$ 1,002-2916.75/night

This luxurious boutique property is one of the best hotels in Santa Fe, known for its stunning decor and attention to detail.

Set in the Barrio de Analco, one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, the Inn of the Five Graces has a maximalist East-meets-West decor, with suites housing hand-crafted furnishings, vibrant textiles and intricate mosaics that reflect the cultural tapestry of the Silk Road.

The inn's lush courtyard is where you’ll enjoy breakfast, while Pink Adobe, a Santa Fe favourite since 1944, serves a funky, flavourful blend of Cajun and New Mexican cuisine.

Meanwhile, the beautifully restored Dragon Room Bar was supposedly once a haunt of Santa Fe’s beloved Georgia O’Keeffe.

I’m particularly partial to the Inn’s compact five-room spa, where a Himalayan salt stone massage will refresh even the most tightly wound guests.

2.

Rosewood Inn Of The Anasazi

Address:

113 Washington Avenue

Price:

C$ 527-3078.73/night

This elegant hotel is set in the heart of Santa Fe’s downtown, a great option for those looking to be within walking distance of the city’s sights, including the historic Plaza and numerous art galleries.

Named after the ancient Anasazi people, Rosewood’s decor also showcases artwork from top Native American artists. The 58 rooms are beautifully designed, filled with handmade furniture and Native American textiles, as well as cozy kiva fireplaces, which I recommend curling up in front of on a chilly Santa Fe evening.

The on-site Anasazi Restaurant serves up contemporary American cuisine with Southwestern influences, using locally sourced ingredients like elk and duck breast.

As one of the best hotels in Santa Fe, you won’t want for amenities during your stay here either, thanks to a well-equipped fitness centre and an inviting library.

3.

Hotel Santa Fe

Address:

1501 Paseo De Peralta

Price:

C$ 125-691.23/night
