The reservation was for a midsize SUV. I was first offered a Suzuki Vitara. Smaller than what I reserved. They did switch me to the vehicle I requested.Ace

Pros:
Car was fine. They had a very limited selection and had to force upgrade me (which cost me more in gas).Cons:
They did NOT accept the Allianz insurance I had purchased online via Kayak and insisted I purchase their insurance. This more than doubled the cost of the rental. Allianz did refund me, but Kayak should not offer this option if Hertz will not accept it.2.0 Poor

Pros:
When we went to pick up the car, we were told that they didnt have any cars available. There were others cars on the lot at a much higher price. Very disappointed as we were on vacation and were left in limbo at the last second.Cons:
That they would’ve notified us ahead of time of the availability of cars. At a minimum they should had let us rent a car of our choosing at the same or lower rate as our reservation.2.0 Poor

Pros:
Some of the staff were helpful and apologetic about all the issues we encounter.Cons:
The vehicle was not available at the time we landed. Had to get a cab to my hotel and come back the next day, we were a large family therefore very difficult to get to the hotel and back, especially as our plane arrived at midnight. The vehicle they gave us didn't have the proper license plate and the staff called me through my whole trip trying to have me come back for them to make do the paperwork. Also, they charge me bogus charges that were not included on my original reservation, on their words, those are country charges.One location in Santiago de los Caballeros
