Pros: From the moment we stepped through the front door we felt like royalty. The receptionist was so welcoming and helpful, enabling us to book in earlier than we’d expected. Other staff were equally kind and engaging. The room was a good size, clean, quiet and comfortable. There were water, tea and coffee available to make drinks as you needed. Other drinks and food were available at reasonable prices. Everything worked properly. The WiFi is secure. Wide range of food and drinks for breakfast. This is definitely one of my favourite hotels of all time. Right in the heart of the old city it’s easy to walk to all the main sights.

The reception staff were very helpful and charming, with a special mention of Gracia and Amanda. The dining room is elegant and the lunch menu is very good value. If you arrive by train it is necessary to get a taxi Into town, but plenty are available. We really enjoyed this delightful city and would like to return one day. PS Early September a good time to visit as bit cooler and not too crowded.

Cons: Unclear as to opening times and location of bar.We were not sure if the restaurant in the basement was part of the hotel .We tried to get a drink at the bar on the one occasion we found it open but were ignored and so left.There is no snack bar and it seems the only way to get a drink on the roof terrace is via room service.It would be lovely if they made more use of the old terrace which was mostly locked during our stay.Also the amazing vintage style lounge was deserted.

The entire building is divided into 3 zones: the church, the monastery complex and the residence of employers. The church houses an excellent restaurant. On the west side of the church were the dependencies of the employers with a garden to the Escalinata del Hospital de la Misericordia. These buildings are part of the current hotel building. The rooms have air conditioning, heating, cable TV, work desk and safe. * Free gym. Circuit Spa with swimming pool, Turkish bath and sauna with suplement. *Paid parking with direct access to the hotel.

We arrived a couple hours early and the very kind desk agent said the room was being cleaned but she would keep our bags and we could return in 20 mins. Cons: The room was a bit dark and too hot at arrival (it was very hot outside, so it is OK, as there is air-con). They alocated a disabled room for us (which we didn't required), which meant that there was no courtain in the shower to prevent the water going everywhere in the bathroom.

Pros: An excellent breakfast and generally a very comfortable hotel. The pool and its surroundings were incredible. However, there was no wow factor that you get in many Parador hotels. The rooms were bog standard, much like any run-of-the-mill business hotel.
Cons: We stayed there without a car and it was really unsuited to people without their own transport. The walk into the city centre took about 40 minutes and was really frustrating because halfway you were still within a very short distance from the hotel due to the layout of the roads (see photo below). We could not understand why a more direct route hadn't been made when the hotel was built. There is a bus into the city but even then it is 20 minutes walk to the bus stop. We ended up spending a lot on taxis (7 or 8 euros each way). Frankly I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone without a car.

Pros: The location is great – within sight of the aqueduct and about a 5 minute walk from the bus to the train station. I could actually see the aqueduct while lying bed. The hotel has been recently renovated and is very pleasant. My room was very quiet despite the central location.

When I asked about the Gym and the Sauna they told be they were having problems and the facilities were not available. I wish they would have stated that on their posting.
The water in the bath was warm but not Hot. I tried at different times and got adequate warm water at off peak hours. Otherwise it was barely warm. The bathrooms looked old.

Pros: The hotel was thoroughly good value, including the dinner. It was ideally adapted to our purpose of an art (mainly architectural) tour of this magnificent city and interesting province. Only one problem, the robotized car parking was v. complicated, and even with passable Spanish, picking up the minute detail of an absolutely rigid system proved impossible: mine host, however, v. helpful in sorting out problems. They left one feeling as though one's presence there was completely unwanted and a massive inconvenience to them (though the only contact we had was checking in and ordering a cup of tea in the cafeteria coming back in the evening).
