The view from the room and the bar will take your breath away (I think the view is better than at the W, Hyatt, Fairmont...). The swimming pool is for me one of the best in Shanghai, and having the jacuzzi near the swimming pool is a real plus. During the day, they’ve replaced everything I had used with new ones (including the complimentary tea and coffee). The staff is great (I really appreciated being able to check out 2 hours later).
I went to the yilong restaurant. I thought the service would be amazing. However, when I found a dead bug in my rice, the only comment I’ve received from the two waitresses (who were a bit snobbish) was: we will replace it... From a one star Michelin restaurant, I was at least expecting a “sorry”, and to be honest the dinner was such a disaster that it made me reflect badly on the overall experience.
Range of dining options. spa and pool. View.
Against very high standards, the staff were not as friendly or quick to help as might be expected e.g versus s Waldorf Astoria
location and room size. restaurants offer very good... swimming pool facilities very good...mosaics on it could be better (check out FANTINI MOSAICI!)
public areas too dark...I don't like too much the last renovation happened! PRICE IS EXPENSIVE COMPARE TO THE OVERALL STANDARD WHICH IS GOOD BUT NOT EXCELLENT!
Staff were friendly and polite.
It's very dated and it felt like an older Hilton from 1992. This place is decent but really needs a lot of updating. We were going to stay longer after a trip to Palawan but when we got back we moved to the fairmont raffles and it is so much better and modern.
The view in the river room was stunning and the staff super lovely. Enjoyed the stay!
