Stay away from HERTZ in Tulum. They had my reservation. They asked if I wanted their insurance, I declined and said my credit card would cover. They said that they didn't have that agreement with credit card card companies and told me I'd need a $2,000 deposit. So I had to take a taxi for $120.

It tool over 2 hours to pick up the car after the check in . We had a baby with us so after long travel this is unacceptable. The reason we were given for the wait so that they need to clean the car after they were dropped off. The car we received was not cleaned. Other customers experienced even longer wait times…

Check in process took forever. Car wasn’t ready had to wait for almost an hour outside at the pickup spot. Car was dirty on arrival. Also at the drop off it took awhile and then not enough room in the shuttle so had to wait again for next shuttle to come. Overall it was ok

Waited 45 minutes in line to sign paperwork for the rental inside the terminal. Was told no cars available for 30-45 minutes. Waited 2.5 more hours outside before leaving without a vehicle. Worst "rental" experience ever

The insurance part of the process wasn't clear and I needed to do more detailed research ton understand the mexican accident coverage. Once at the counter I was offered a 60$ a day insurance coverage, I needed to be very informed in order to get the cheaper option, which was still expensive, 40$ a day for insurance. The drop off was a bit complicated as no company representative was present on the drop off lot, which was situated on a different, more secluded part of the airport. We drove to the arrival lot and an employee was able to assist us.

First they don't accept insurance on my viza ,the price of insurance is 3 times more then original price ,I was disappointed about your website, others they have better relacion with car rental and better service ,I will strongly recommend people on my community to don't use your website 👎🤢🤮

There is no Dollar agency in Tulum. It is Hertz. Took us one hour visiting car rental agencies to find out Dollar is part of Hertz. When we got there our reservation was not in their system. Told us to call Kayak. We had to call a Hertz high level manager to help us and after 3 hours got a noisy, dirty mini van in another agency. Lucky for us we knew someone at Hertz. Terrible service from Kayak and Dollar

The Tulum airport is new and pretty but the rental car situation/ area is very poorly managed and planned. Rental process took over 90 mins and return process took over an hour. Very disappointing and frustrating!

People who were renting us a car did not speak English at all, were difficult to work with, very slow, did not allow us to switch, coverage to the one we wanted. Very disorganized, took us a while to get a car and to return it. The process is very combers one and not designed for customer comfort.

Waited 45 min inside line and then out by the cars waited another 30 for someone to help us. They didn't have enough cars. They didn't seem to have a system. They were a mess. Our cars air conditioner fan was too weak and didn't blow cold enough. The car was moderately clean inside.

Terrible customer service and gave me a crappy car, low tire pressure at start and ask customer to fill it on the way, engine oil life of 10%. Cause delay on my trip schedule. Charge full at the end of the trip regardless of faulty car and bad customer.

They did not have the car I rented available. Then they charged me for the upgrade to the only car they had. Then the gas tank was partially empty. AWFUL EXPERIENCE.

You had no cars! I waited two days before taking a taxi to playa where I got a car immediately. It was literally faster to take a taxi to playa, rent a car, and drive back. Terrible experience.
