8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable room for the night whilst travelling to see Joshua Tree National Park. Enjoyed a cool down in the pool and made use of the washer and dryer in the laundry room.
Cons: Noisy air con.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for Joshua tree, the staff are super friendly, the rooms are massive, well equipped and clean.
Cons: Shame there is no bar or restaurant
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very good, and professional ... the maid could stand to be a little friendlier. Other than that everyone was fantastic.
Cons: Didn’t like the fact that my key card kept getting deactivated, even when it was in my back pocket not close to anything else. Was very annoying.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: + Very nice variety of breakfast until 10am (with fresh fruit, müsli, bagel, coffee, sweets, etc.) + Location very good for Joshua Tree. Especially because it is the less crowded entrance to the park. + Check Out until 12 (you could go to Joshua Park very early for sunrise and come back to check out. But be aware, Joshua Tree is huge) + Parking close to the rooms + Friendly staff :) + Coffee, tea, water everytime available
Cons: - Plastic overload for breakfast. Just why... - In general, we wouldn’t go to Twentynine Palms. For us, there was nothing else to see than Joshua Tree. But for that: perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property is so nice and clean. Staff was efficient and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good hotel nearby the entrance to the Joshua Nation Park. The hotel was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The people outside at the pool, but has nothing to do with the hotel. Regulation for sitting outside until a certain time would be helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff. We even showed up early for our reservation and the desk was so sweet & accommodating.
Cons: We could hear all noise so loudly everything anyone said in the room above us, in the hallway, etc. Didnt sleep as well with the noise.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location and large, clean rooms and overall hotel.
Cons: Only negative was the very thin walls. We could hear the TVs and people talking in the rooms next to and above us. I don’t think they were being loud, just bad insulation between rooms.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Fairfield Inn was a really nice surprise. The staff was friendly as well as helpful while the rooms were absolutely quiet and very comfortable. There are plenty of space to park your car and the swimming pool (admittedly a bit small) is relaxing. The value for money is great and I would definitely recommend staying there.
Cons: The breakfast could be improved (especially the waffle dough).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: location near Mojave Desert
Cons: yes...there was a water treatment pump within 100 feet of our room's location that was noticeably loud even with the double paned glass windows. The sound of the compressor was very upsetting until I overcame it (white noise) with the fan on full time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, traditional breakfast, small but fine pool and gym. All good for one night stay on the road...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ideally located for Joshua Tree National Park. Very reasonably priced, very helpful guy on desk, good breakfast, comfortable room, easy parking.
Cons: All good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an amazing hotel with amazing staff! The hotel and room was spotlessly clean, there was always someone at the front desk, who was always very pleasant and helpful, and all the staff went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make sure we were well taken care of. The breakfast was amazing, and the chef on duty was so helpful to us, since we have a special needs child who could only eat certain things. We were SO impressed with this hotel and staff, and will definitely stay again when we come to visit family. I cant say enough great things about them!
Cons: Nothing.... it was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a pretty good stay. Overall I would rate this an 8 out of 10. The only thing we were irritated about was having to change our key every few used. They need a better system.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice and the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: We were put in the wrong room during check in so someone else walked into our room in the middle of the night while we were sleeping and our keys were reprogrammed so we got locked out the next morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness.. Nice pool area that was kept very clean
Cons: Breakfast could be better. The breakfast attendant was definitely NOT friendly
4.5 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was not very good. Staff was pleasant
Cons: Carpets throughout the facility seemed very dirty, entire place seemed run down. Came back to the room on the last night of stay to find beds had not been made, no clean towels left, trash not emptied.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The best part was the check in and check out service. I was traveling for work, we focus on our service so I'm always looking for outstanding service and the ladies who assisted me were awesome!
Cons: Small, insignificant things - entry flooring to the room had giant greasy looking footprints. I bring flip flops and socks so not an issue, just looked like it wasn't clean. Think they must use some sort of cleaning agent and put on large booty type things that left a mark. Shower door didn't close all the way. Room was on the highway side, someone has to take those, thankfully I always bring ear plugs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, staff very polite and accommodating. Pool and hot tub area clean. Room very comfortable and bathroom nice size. Strong water pressure in shower and a real good vent in bathroom so very little fogging.
Cons: N/A

Pros: Room was spacious and comfortable
Cons: Hair dryer didn’t work, tv didn’t work, back door would not unlock with key, breakfast was very slow so we left without it, paid for Mountain View and barely could see mountains but were put right on the noisy patio, computer wouldn’t work to get a hard copy of receipt when we checked out

7.0 Good
Pros: Large and clean room
Cons: Air conditioning extremely noisy, hitting directly the people in bed. Furniture pretty damaged here and there. The external high temperature was difficult to control inside, even during the night (and the AirCond was very noisy...); the building is thus to be considered poorly insulated.

Overview Reviews
Located in Twentynine Palms, El Rancho Dolores Motel at Joshua Tree National Park is within a 5-minute drive of Knott Sky Park and 29 Palms Historical Society. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was pretty cheap compared to other places around the area
Cons: The man at the front desk was very rude especially when it came to our baby being in the room. He did nothing but complain and have an attitude if he were to ever cry which wasn't even a lot or anything. And he's a baby and it was put on the reservation that a baby will be one of the guests in the room. So to complain the way he did was ridiculous and telling us if "we can't get him shut up he will have to refund everyone staying there" was extremely uncalled for. We stayed for a week and housekeeping never came in the room once to clean only knocked on the door now and then to give us new towels but wouldn't take the dirty ones.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the Joshua Tree park entry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean. The whole facility was very well kept. Pool was very nice. Staff was were very polite and helpful
Cons: No
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean rooms. The pool was nice. Friendly staff.
Cons: A towel rack outside of the shower would have been nice.
6.2 Good
Pros: The front desk person was pleasant and helpful. There were some covered parking which was available-haven’t seen that very often.
Cons: The internet was spotty-especially when streaming content. The TV remote didn’t work for turning the set on or changing the volume-I take responsibility on this one, I was too beat to call the desk..., And my favorite-old low flow toilets-need I say more?
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place to stay with a nice pool too. The only downside was a loud and weirdly scheduled ac that didn't allow us to sleep.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice location at cheap price to visit Joshua Tree National Park and comfortable room. Good deal for nearby restaurant. Nice pool.
Cons: floor was not really clean. My feet were so dirty after walking in the room.. Soap shampoo are just basic stuff. Fridge was not clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was like sleeping on popcorn. Wonderful it was!
Cons: Not applicable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great place great staff and facilities.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It ticked every box of the needs of a road trip right down to a coin operated laundry on site. It lives up to the towns motto A little oasis in the desert. Excellent.
Cons: The air conditioner was a little noisy but it had to do a lot of work in the summer temperature.
7.0 Good
Pros: Well located, surprisingly calm, spacious rooms with good bedding, nice shower, and spacious parking
Cons: AC was noisy and inefficient, should be replaced
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable
Cons: No safety lock on door and no tv subscription!

5.0 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: The place is shabby - closet doors are hanging off, the sofa looks dirty and you sink into it, neither TV seemed to be working.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was very impressed with the property, I loved the area, it was tucked away and quiet. When I go visit Joshua Tree I will be staying at this location.
Cons: Only thing was I had to play the volume on the TV at maximum and it still wasn’t that loud.
6.3 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable enough, room was quite big.
Cons: Wi-fi wouldn't connect most of the time. In the morning there was almost no water so I could not shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, accommodating, hard working staff. Rooms exceptionally clean. Would stay here again for sure!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The apartment itself was cool, with fantastic views from the balcony. Very peaceful. Biggest point is that they allow pets. Great location for the quiet side of the park. A very lovely place!!!
Cons: Some bits in the apartment could do with some updating. Bathroom door got stuck, the TV remote was very temperamental but overall it was really good.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It was clean, big and nice
Cons: Couch was very uncomfortable.
5.0 Okay
Pros: the manager was nice.
Cons: no soap or shampoo in the dispensers... It was difficult to get the TV/cable to work (complicated setup) and we were unable to connect to the WIFI. The original room only had one bed, so we had to upgrade to the only suite with 2 which was a lot more $$.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a full kitchen so it made making meals so much easier since we were traveling with 3 of our grandkids. The rooms were very clean although dated.
Cons: The Landscaping was very rough. There were several weeds in the walkways throughout which didn't make it as inviting as it could have been. It just needed some extra TLC.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A lot of space to sleep (family of 5) and to dine in the room. full-kitchen facilities and 2 bathrooms. very close to JTNP.
Cons: Not for those who like modern living... We were ok with the rustic/western feel but the appartment and the hotel in general could do with a little refurbishing. Nevertheless, the place was clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very spacious. Comfortable and quiet. Had an excellent kitchen. Everything worked properly. The WiFi was excellent. There was even a BBQ. Bonus! The price was very reasonable for the area. The quirky cowboy style outside kept me chuckling.
Cons: I can't think of anything. The people running it great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Looked rustic and a little shaky when we first arrived. Was very pleasantly surprised by the size, different rooms, comfort and cleanliness. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Weird location off the main drag.
Cons: had to have an upstairs room
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was quiet
Cons: our room was right next to the washing machine rooms so people were hanging out smoking right in front of our room. it was not clean or even nice. We didn't even stay the night. We left and just lost money. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, pleasant and quiet accommodation complex. Very nice, spacious and equipped room, finally accommodation without the usual dirty and smelly carpets. The evening refreshment in the pool was amazing. Delicious and rich breakfast with smiled staff. This accommodation was the cheapest, but the most beautiful, on our 1100 miles trip to California!!! Too bad we were staying only one night.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: Old worn buildings and room was not clear. Carpet on the floor is covered with staines.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff > Very good throughout and in particular when I noticed I forgot a bag in the room and called in the evening they collected it and kept it aside for me to pick up. Cons: /
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Just right for my needs. Convenient location
Cons: They wouldn’t give me my best western rewards. They add a fee to hold money for incidental damages until you check out. This fee was not explained to me at first
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: Pool area not maintained (trash on grounds, jets not working in spa, and pool was green in color).
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room size, location (5 minutes to the Joshua Tree NP), staff
Cons: We found a dead cockroach behind the bedside table, although it’s quite understandable being an hotel in the middle of the open spaces of the desert
6.8 Good
Pros: Breakfast was ok. Self service buffet. Location felt a bit remote. Not much there. Need car to get to mcdonalds or dennys. The staff were friendly. Thought the price was expensive given how very little there is in the area. It’s fine for an overnight stop but wouldnt stay longer.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Not far from the North entrance to Joshua tree NP. Swimming pool was ok!
Cons: A bit far from ‘downtown’ 29 Palms.

Pros: We loved the close proximity to Joshua Tree and Twenty Nine Palms. The property is perched upon a hill, providing great views of the town and mountains in the distance. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!
Cons: Nothing!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at the Harmony Motel for one night as a stop off on our way to Joshua Tree. Im disappointed we did not stay two nights as it was such a great experience. The Motel is so clean, quiet & tranquil. We travelled from Ireland & were made feel very welcome by the owner Ash, we were upgraded to the room we had requested. The motel has lots of U2 memorabilia, which was the reason for our stay. Ash renovated the sign & brought back the original sign that was photographed with U2 underneath, where they stayed while recording the Joshua tree. Will definitely be making the trip back here, excellent value for money & a great experience for any U2 fan.
Cons: Nothing :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really loved the charm and character of the motel. It's location is perfect for a JT vacation. The owner of the hotel is a lovely and cool lady. It's pretty bare bones, but sometimes thats all you need! Great place to wake up.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Cute kitschy spot with a great vibe. Unfortunately didn't have time to check out the pool but everything was enjoyable and easy!
Cons: The beds & linens were definitely more motel-grade than hotel-grade.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very good location, local shops a short drive away. Ideal location for the park. Our room had kitchen facilities which were well appointed.
Cons: The 2 nights stay meant we didn't get linen change. There was no hairdryer that we could find. Upon arrival the receptionist was very quick to point out all the things we could not do! Not very friendly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: this place was very private and a gem in the middle of the desert, we loved our stay!
Cons: the smallest A/C unit could barely cool off our room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was nice to relax in the pool after a long days driving. There was a hot tub as well, which was lovely.
Cons: A quiet area surrounds the property, but it has everything you need anyway.

Pros: I absolutely loved the unit, it was larger than expected and very homey. The bed was comfortable and I loved the little touches such as a fan provided, coffee well stocked including cream and sugar, and a sitting area on the porch. The manager was incredibly gracious and welcoming and the housekeeping staff was very thoughtful. I hope to visit this area again and I will book this lodging without question.
Cons: I have no complaints.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The beds were extremely uncomfortable.
6.3 Good
Pros: Very unusual motel, new experience:) Artistic, crazy colors but we liked it. We enjoyed staying outside, drinking and eating, there are a table and a bench with happy colors, artificial palm and sunflower. Stars and city view were amazing. Once we saw a running rabbit. Actually, we would be very happy there if at least once garbage would be taken out and the bathroom floor cleaned. For 3 nights we paid $400+, so deserve a little bit of service. But anyway, we like this motel, would remember staying there for sure.
Cons: as I mentioned, poor service
6.3 Good
Pros: Very kitschy. Budget friendly.
Cons: Bare bones. No hair dryer. Refrigerator was not very cold.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely, old small cottage style, quiet, colorful, fully equipped room with solid WiFi
6.0 Good
Pros: Interesting color scheme inside. Liked the tile floor versus old stinky rugs at a lot of hotels.
Cons: Couldn't find the keys when I was going to leave. I looked under the bed thinking they may have fell and been accidentally kicked under. I would say they haven't cleaned under the bed in at least a year. Kind of gross!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, price, comfy beds
Cons: Everything was fine
9.3 Excellent
Pros: cute little houses, tiny but confy kitchen
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Hot breakfast option
Cons: Poor wifi connection in back rooms
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Proximity to Joshua Tree National Park
Cons: The air conditioning wasn’t sufficient. There was a non-functioning whirlpool bathtub in the room that looked awful & took up a lot of space. The motel is run in conjunction with another motel, and breakfast is not included eventhough it says so.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was clean and staff very nice and helpful.
Cons: The pool is closed permanently.

Pros: Nice help from front desk with a copy and fax issue
Cons: No clothes hangers
10.0 Excellent
Pros: For the price we paid for this room per night (around $65) we were very surprised at how comfortable it was. We passed up some much higher priced hotels (even the sister hotel next door was more expensive) and were ready for a kind of grimy place based on some reviews, but we were so pleased. Check in was next door at the next hotel over- the parking lots are connected. Overall, the room was great and we will definitely stay here again if we are back in the area.
Cons: We didn't try the breakfast because I believe it didn't open until 7am and we were already on our way to JT National Park at that time.

Pros: I loved my room. It was large. Super super CLEAN!!! It had deluxe cable, a microwave & minifridge. They also accommodated my pets. Excellent value!
Cons: I wish they had extended stays past 28 days and left the pool open til 10pm. This town doesnt have a bank. An ATM would be convenient.
