Pros: The location at Minatomirai is excellent. The hotel is directly connected to the subway and is also connected by a covered walkway to the JR Sakuragichio station. The staff is very helpful and helped to store our luggage until check in time. The room was overall very clean and comfortable but the bathroom was quite dated. However what made up for this was the breath taking view from the window of the port/bay both day and night. The airport limousine bus picks up from the hotel to both Narita and Haneda.

Pros: I stayed in 3 levels of rooms during my 2 stays in the same week. The higher levels definitely were more enjoyable. I did choose to include breakfast each morning and was happy with that decision. While expensive it is expansive and extremely well prepared. I also used the fitness center each day and found the additional cost worthwhile as in addtion to the gym there are full locker areas with Japanese style baths and sauna as well as a pool.

Pros: The Royal Park Hotel is always great. We have stayed there many times. The rooms are large and well appointed, the staff is nice, and the View, especially if you have a bay view, is great. Since the hotel starts fifty floors up, all views are spectacular.
The breakfast buffet on the top floor is great with a wonderful view.

Cons: The check-out procedure could be better. You often have to stand in a long line if you check out at 11:00 am. I don't understand why a modern hotel in a modern country like Japan forces you to stand in line to check out rather than do it electronically.

Cons: Disclaimer: We are NOT noisy tourists. We DIDN'T give any demands or anything you would find from annoying guests. We are just a newly wed couple, stayed here for our honeymoon, but this is the worst experience. Lobby staff - They didn't care even if you tried hard to speak Japanese with them. Instead, they gave you a smirk when you didn't understand and switched to English immediately, as if laughing at you. The guy during check-in was chatting extremely nicely with Japanese guests and introducing this and that to them, but when it was our turn, he introduced nothing. His smile was fake with a hint of "I don't wanna serve you". There was another lobby staff, in her 40s, who was greeting Japanese guests, but the moment she saw us, her smile disappeared immediately and walked away. Restaurant - Rude staff inside with no smile at all. Breakfast choices were mediocre with extremely slow refill. Be prepared with nothing you'd like to eat. I wrote a long comment note to the hotel when we left. They didn't even bother to reply. If this is what Japanese claims "omotenashi" (おもてなし), that's really a shame.

Pros: By far the largest room I've had in Japan. The room was a little older but there wasn't anything wrong with it. It had a great view of Yokohama harbor and the Yokohama Bay Bridge.
The staff was great and accommodating and even held onto my luggage before I checked in and after I checked out.

Pros: The staff were wonderful, regardless of the havoc in the hospitality industry. I have stayed before here, and enjoyed it's proximity to the harbour, shopping districts and transportation. Spoken English has increased dramatically within the hotel and they are also very patient with any attempts of spoken Japanese by guests. I would highly recommend this hotel.

+ Location is excellent: the Intercontinental is one of the landmark buildings in the modern Minatomirai neighborhood of Yokohama; it just across a pedestrian overpass to Minatomirai Station and Queens Mall + Landmark Tower and all of the rest of the surrounding attractions.
+ Easy access to Tokyo via Minatomirai Station (from where you can catch a train direct to many Tokyo neighborhoods or get anywhere with 1 transfer). (I would recommend using Hyperdia (http://www.hyperdia.com/en/) for looking up train directions.)
+ While I was checking out, a staff member came up to help me with my two large suitcases and spoke into his headset to have a cab waiting for me by the time we got down the escalator.
+ Many more instances such as this of subtle and excellent customer service are what really defined this stay for me.
+ Access to the airports is easy via Yokohama station where the Keikyū Airport Line will take you to Haneda in 30 min or the JR Narita Express will take you to Narita in 1.5 hrs. If you are traveling light, you can change trains at Yokohama to the Minatomirai line and take that to Minatomirai Station, which is a block from the Intercontinental. (If you have a lot of bags, as I did, you might find it easier to take a 10 min cab ride between Yokohama station and Minatomirai station.)

Cons: The bathroom only had one bar of soap and no body wash, so we had to use the one bar for both the sink and the bath. Also, there were small traces of mold on the spaces between the tiles and along the bathtub outer edge. Not much, but needing work. We ate dinner at the hotel's Pier 21 restaurant, a floating restaurant with very nice views of the habour. Unfortunately, the food was, although well-prepared, thoroughly unimaginative, and for the price, disappointing.

Cons: The picture of the room showed a view with a Ferris wheel. Only had a view of a foggy bay. Asked for romantic options and was never offered any packages. Greeters at the door were rude. Bed was hard, my neck and back are still in pain.

Cons: For one person, the room was fine. For two, though it had a double bed, it would have been a little cramped. And as I say, the room didn't have much character--pretty functional. But these are quibbles -- really, there wasn't anything to complain about. I would recommend it.

Pros: I book a superior room with queen bed. Room is quite spacey for Japanese hotel. Everything is clean, new, and neat. Perfect for either solo or couple traveler. Excellent location. Very close to Kannai station, convenience store, restaurant, etc. I guess it's a very nice choice for traveler/tourist because it's nearby minato mirai and Yokohama central area. Restaurant and cafe are available in the same building. I love the fact that they have a free self-service laundry on the 2nd floor. Definitely stay here again next time, but for vacation instead of business trip :D

Cons: Room smells like an odifferous armpit each time I open the door. No invoice if you pay on line. It's definitely impossible. Just count on not getting any kind of invoice. Breakfast buffet constantly runs out of item and the staff is trained to not notice. They react with great shock and surprise when you pint it out the eggs in the morning are just a warm yellow goo, highly not recommended.

The Japanese, Chinese, and Western breakfasts were phenomenal. The rooms were comfortable, well maintained, and completely met the needs of tired travelers coming in from overseas, and then visiting family and friends, as well as re-visiting favorite tourist sites in the Tokyo, Kyoto, and Kamakura regions. The location was also extremely helpful being close to the metro, as well as close to where our son lives in Motomachi. The sights of Chinatown, Yokohama were just an added benefit. Getting into Tokyo or excursions to sights further afield such as Kyoto, Kamakura, and Nagano, were also easily accomplished with the metro line so close to the hotel. Cons: Staff made some financial mistakes and charge +5% to our expenses, then pretend that don't know English and refused to call for senior employee. Poor breakfast. We found some hairs in our bed.

Pros: They had the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hotel. I just sunk into it. Other than that, the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel was about a 5 minute walk from the train station, less if you weren't carrying luggage, and that station was only a couple stops away from Yokohama station - great location.

Cons: I wish I had known the bed was the way it was. I would have booked an extra night or two.
The only complaint I have - and this isn't really a complaint - is that you could tell that it was an older room. It was clean but you could also see the occasional scuff on the wall. That sort of thing.
