liked the friendly personnel and the very large room - good value for money
lighting in the bathroom was poor
Friendly and helpful staff! Cool building!
Small details missing for me to give this hotel a 10! For example didn’t we get new shower gel etc when we had run out of them, we didn’t get new drinking glasses when they were used, and lamps and electricity that didn’t work properly.
It designed very nice and beautiful.
Everything was great except the breakfast which was super expensive
We loved the extra large windows in our corner room. Lots of city noises with the windows open but quiet when closed, and terrific light-blocking curtains. We overslept and they generously gave us an extra hour to check out. Great shower too!
Still a great location. And a nice building.
I stayed there several times before and was always pleased. Good service. Nice location. Comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast (buffet). This time was very different. Stains on the carpet. Faucet in the bathroom was loose. And above all the breakfast was at least one level lower than usual. More like in a typical chain hotel. Buffet was just standard and nicely set near bar and windows as it used to be. Not inviting. I was disappointed. Not sure if I'll book this place again.
The College Hotel Amsterdam is housed in a stylish 19th-century building which started life as a school in 1895. The hotel and restaurant continue to contribute to the development of talent even today; the staff consists of students from various colleges and it is managed by experienced professionals.
It's located in the Fashion District of Amsterdam in the southern part of the city centre. Museumplein, where the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and the Royal Concertgebouw are located, is only a five minute walk away. The Albert Cuyp Market and the popular neighbourhood De Pijp are also within walking distance. Other locations in the city centre can easily be reached with tram 5 and 24, both of which stop directly in front of the hotel.
