The online reservation process seemed easy, and confirmed I could pick up a car at a downtown Nashville location. But at that location, I was told I'd have to pick up a car at the airport - a time-wasting hassle. There, they couldn't honor my reserved car, requiring a new reservation for ~$50 more. Directions from the airport desk to the pick-up location were confusing. Then, canceling my first reservation was another confusing, time-wasting hassle requiring several calls. Once I finally got to it, the car itself was fine and my drive went smoothly - just a little more tired...Reviewed 10 Mar 2025

Horrible! We reserved a full size suv one week prior. When we arrived they said “all we have is a minivan. It seats the same number of people.” We said the minivan costed less and we requested a full size SUV because that’s what we needed. They said “sorry.” We went to enterprise, whom we’ve always used prior but was more expensive this time. I’ll never attempt to use Avis again. Luckily enterprise could accommodate us last minute. No fault of the workers at the location, but there was mandatory insurance that was not included in the original price of the car. The insurance ended up costing more than the rental. This needs to be included in the price shown on Kayak. It feels predatory.Reviewed 9 Mar 2025

Upon arrival the agent was very aggressive with pushing an upgrade. We reserved a mystery car which was described as a potential EV or similar. We were given a suburban which would not fit in the garage. She would only allow us an “upgrade” to receive a standard size vehicle. The service and pressure to pay more are insane! If I have a choice in the future I will NEVER rent from Avis again. Complete manipulation especially when having traveled so many hours to show up tired and having no other options. Wrong car not electric as stated. over charged, wrong pick up location. Car was was very dirty on outside. Charged extra for gas when it was fully fueled. Needed to pay for Lyft. No call back. Tom was very friendly. Other than that. A disaster of experience. Won't book again!Reviewed 6 Mar 2025
