Carpet was dirty along Baseboards
We stayed 5 days so the kitchen was a great surprise. We were able to make breakfast and also sandwiches for hikes.
I had broken my leg last fall and this was my first hiking trip I did not know bed up in a loft so I had to go up and down stairs. It worked out fine. Also, some seniors could not navigate stairs I bet.
Location and views by far. Being at the quieter end of Banff Avenue, I appreciated being away from the hustle and bustle. The room itself (2nd floor) was very nice, clean, the bed, extremely comfortable & the views onto Banff Ave and mountains was a great bonus. Some have complained about the sink being outside of the bathroom however this wasn’t an issue for me at all. The hallway outside the rooms was dark, yes, but again, no issue. Aside from the lovely views from my window, the other most pleasing thing for me was how quiet my room was, and again, the lovely firm mattress. Would definitely stay again - if I could get a cheaper deal. Accommodation in Banff isn’t cheap by any means, compared to other international hotels I’ve stayed at, but it’s such a beautiful town that you have little choice when it comes to cheaper accommodation. Well, unless you stay at a crowded hostel which I wasn’t prepared to do.
Upon entering my room, I noticed faeces marks in the toilet bowl. I raised it twice with the young gentleman and lass in reception (on both days) and was told housekeeping would attend to it, but it was never cleaned for the 2 days I was there. All it needed was a good scrub. For the price I paid (over AUD$800.00), at the very least I expected a spotless toilet bowl.
The reception staff were excellent. The room was large. There was a free underground car park. It was a 20 mi Ute walk into the town centre.
Nothing. All was well.
