D'Angelo was awesome. Super friendly and fast - easy check out and check in.

Cons:

Price - I rented the same vehicle 1 year ago and the price doubled. June 2020 price was $900 May 2021 price was $2039. The price this time was ridiculous!

Pros:

I never got my car. I put in the atlanta airport and it gave me another location. It was pre rented, (not paid for) and I set the time to pick it up. When I found out the airport was the wrong location, I called the other location and they were closed until Monday. This was Saturday afternoon. So I had no car and had a terrible time getting to my location.

Cons:

State on the website clearly that this not an airport location and times should align when they are open to alert you they will be closed.

The pick up location was changed during my reservation!!! I put in that we were flying into ATL - Atlanta airport. Then when the reservation was completed they asked me to confirm the airport address-- which of course I thought was correct..... It was not. When we got to the airport to pick up the car, after a lot of searching the Hertz employee realized the change! She suggested we take an uber to the downtown Atlanta annex!!!! We could not do that with our golf clubs and bags so we ended up paying DOUBLE for the same car at the Airport! They said third party reservations always have a catch and this was it! Very unhappy. Bait and switch at its sneakiest!!

I reserved a car at the Atlanta airport. My arrival was 1300 local time on a Saturday. Upon arrival, I was told that my vehicle was at another location (not the airport - but Buckhead). This location was closed at noon on Saturday and does not open again until Monday am. The airport quoted me a price more than 4 times the amount I had pre-paid for my reservation (reservation was approx $275, airport quoted me for $1300). Hertz agent showed little interest in helping resolve this; actually told me to try AVIS, stating "their prices are better than ours".

This was a nightmare of an experience. I reserved my rental car through kayak for pick up at the Atlanta airport. My flight was delayed by 2 hours, and when I arrived to the Atlanta airport Hertz location they advised me that my car was actually reserved at the peachtree location, and that that location closed at 6 PM. They then proceeded to advise me that since I had pre-paid that reservation there was nothing they could do for me. They could not transfer my Hertz reservation from the Peachtree location to the Hertz at the Atlanta airport location. So I then ended up paying an additional $740 to rent the exact same car!! Grateful I had a credit card that I was able to put this on, but not everyone is so fortunate. I just do not understand how a company cannot transfer services between different locations. It’s quite ridiculous!

When I requested my rental, my pickup location was entered as Atlanta Hartsfield airport. When we arrived at the Hertz counter in the airport, the rental was in Buckhead-a suburb of Atlanta. To transfer the location was $2100.00 Instead, we took a $35 Uber ride to Buckhead. My blame is not on Hertz but on Kayak which I will not be using again. When we returned the car to the Toledo Ohio location I was given a credit for our Uber cost, and they were very apologetic. Next time I will book directly thougfh Hertz

They nickel and dime you at every turn Was an hour late at pick up location due to flight delay and was given a $200 upcharge to get a 'like class' that I reserved because my car was rented within that 60 minutes. No human interaction, submit all questions, concerns or issues via web portal unless you're at a location. Even though the BMW 3 series I finally rented only had 30K , the car was pretty dinged up and now they are saying I did some of the damage even with me supplying a video of what the car looked like at point of pick up. Staff at the pick up location, very rude with a "this is the way it is, take it or not .,., I only do what I am told to do"

At first they gave me a car that had a tape that was holding a tail light. Service was extremely slow in Buckhead. At the end I got a bill that was $100 higher than during booking

Brilliant rental experience, from pick up to drop off. Only problem- couldn't buy insurance while booking through Kayak , and ended up paying a much higher rate at Sixt. Regardless, one of my better car rentals till date, 10/10 would recommend

The pickup location was convenient.

Cons:

The car was an absolute mess when I picked it up. The outside was covered in dirt from a snow storm. The Indians had used napkins, empty drink bottles, and someone’s trash from A Popeye’s meal. The gas tank also wasn’t full. I complained, but all the desk agent did was note my concerns in the system

I never rented a car from Avis because the store that I reserved a car with called me the next day to tell me that their system should not have permitted me to make a reservation because they had no cars available. They transferred by reservation to another store which I took an Uber to get to and THEY had no cars either! So twice, Avis's system permitted reservations when there were no cars available. Crappy programming to say the least, and disastrous for your business. If you can't offer any cars, don't continue to let people reserve! Idiots!!

Cons:

Despite reserving a vehicle, i received a call alerting me that they couldn’t honor my reservation because they didn’t have any cars to rent. They were being overbooked.
