Had one way rental atl to mia for 12:30 am pickup. Was able to get an earlier connecting flight. Called them to change pickup to 4 hours earlier. They sad they couldn’t, no cars. Absolute nonsense. They said they could transfer me to their “sister company,” Budget, who could provide a car. The experience with Budget was a complete disaster.Reviewed 10 May 2026

Even though my vehicle was reserved and prepaid for when we arrived at the airport early in the morning there was no vehicles available. We had traveled all day and arrived after midnight and looking forward to getting some sleep. When we got to the rental counter the line was roughly twenty people long and we were all told they were completely out of vehicles and had nothing to give anyone... Had to wait in line at other companies to get something to use for our trip. Then the refund process was about the worst because I had prepaid they didn't want to return any money. Took many emails and phone calls to get anything done and finally receive a refund. Don't rent from them!Reviewed 10 Apr 2026

We never got either a car or a person with Kayak to address the situation. Our planned trip was long distance to a remote area. We intentionally rented a gas powered vehicle, and when we arrived, all they had available was electric with insufficient charge. We tried both calling Kayak and working with the online system, neither of which would accept our reservation number or connect us to a human being. On arrival to pickup reserved car was told no available cars ( this was trure for 6-8 other people arriving to pickup cars) and expected wait times would be 2-3 hours. Since prepaid only option for refund was going through expedia. when that was done I went yhrough multiple calls and call menus without being able to talk to anyone who would listen to me before transferring me to another call menu which never worked. Since I was unable to reach expedia for refund I had to wait 2 1:2 hours for rental car. rest of process worked ok BUT I WILL NEVER RENT A CAR THROUGH EXPEDIA(KAYAK) AGAIN or PROB NOT FROM THRIFTY EITHER!!!!Reviewed 28 Sep 2024
