This was the SDF airport Budget rental counter. They told me I was unable to rent without a credit card on hand. Fair, I didn't know that was necessary. They then directed me 10 miles away to a Budget location they said could take my debit card. When I arrived, the second location was filthy, stinky and creepy. The clerk there told me they couldn't take debit card either, and the airport clerk probably told me that just to get rid of me. Because there were no accommodations or ways for someone without a credit card on hand to even consider renting a car, we had to call me elderly mother to drive 5 hours to pick us up so we could drive another five hours back to Pittsburgh. Miserable experience, I will never even try to rent from Budget again, and I will likely never rent a car again at all.Reviewed 9 Mar. 2024

Pros:Desk lady was super patient with me and very friendly.Cons:Car selection, pre-rental inspection, communication. I called 7 times every hour to half hour and never go ahold of anyone at the local office. Was charged for a second day rental, we didn’t even have the car 36 hours. Local office was closed at 4, so I couldn't call and communicate the massive wreck that delayed us before returning on time. When I finally made it to the car return, the dude who took my keys never said anything to indicate I’d get charged another $125. I rent 8-10 cars annually for my business, and figured I’d give budget a chance to see why it’s cheaper. You get what you pay for. Never had an issue with enterprise or hertz.Reviewed 26 Oct. 2020

Cons:Sunday after the Kentucky Derby in Louisville there was ONE lady working the counter. She was nice but there was a line. A long line. While in line I made another reservation with Avis online and was on my way before the line moved at Budget.Reviewed 7 May 2019
