10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning views and everything good quality and can tell thought and care given to every choice from the yogurt at breakfast to the shampoo and conditioner
Cons: The booking.com website only allowed us to pick a check in time after 4 but the owner thankfully mailed to advise we could check in earlier
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The fantastic view, the Bose in the room and the flame effect fire. Plenty of wardrobe space and a good shower. Delicious flapjacks and proper milk for a cuppa. All the little extras supplied like reading material and solitaire.
Cons: It would be a good idea to leave condiments in the suites as on the 2nd morning we didn't get any. Would prefer to see serving staff with their hair tied up out of the way especially when it is very long. Individual sugar cubes in cellophane wrapping not good for the environment. Not keen on having to choose breakfast and state a time the day before and last serving 9am just a little bit too early, not relaxing.

Pros: Great breakfast but beans were conspicuous by absence.
7.5 Good
Pros: Bed was beautifully comfy. Room was lovely.
Cons: For £182 a night was just rather underwhelmed. Breakfast was okay but we weren't asked if everything was okay and we weren't offered extra drinks or toast. Black pudding was minute. Bedroom door very thin! Also cold shower in morning. When mentioned as we were leaving and settling bill we were offered room key back to have shower... £182 a night! This was supposed to be a romantic treat.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The decor was bright and relaxing. The breakfast menu was varied and cooked fresh to order.
Cons: The wash basin in our small double room was in the bed room not the bath room. Instead of small UHT milk packs they supplied fresh milk for the room which soured over night due to the heat.

Pros: Family friendly and great for water sports. It’s sometimes hard to please all three kids ages 18. 16 and 10 but we all enjoyed the entertainment such as pottery painting and paper quilling. Lovely area surrounding the resort to explore. Accommodation was good too.
Cons: There is road noise so it’s not as quiet as we expected but cabins had good hoaxing so couldn’t hear it once inside.
6.3 Good
Cons: We did'nt received a flat next to the river. The location is far from the center of the activities of the lakes.
9.5 Excellent

Pros: Everything else. It was a brilliant holiday and I honestly loved it.
Cons: Not much... Pillows were both ok but neither was brilliant. Could use another towel. Air con kept resetting. Worked, just kept resetting.
6.8 Good
Pros: Absolutely beautiful resort, the lake could do with a clean in some areas and some mildew seen to in the room bathroom but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed the location as we were a 30 min drive to everything, lovely and quiet, restaurant and bar were lovely.
Cons: The bed- I have never suffered with back complaints but while staying at pine lake I did not have one good night's sleep due to back ache caused by the bed. Since being home the back ache has gone. It ruined our stay by the end that we left early hours of our last day.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived at Plato the staff were welcoming and friendly. It was a treat to find we had a parking permit supplied for a local car park for the duration of our stay. The room was beautiful and large enough for our furry friends. The food was extremely good and special mention for the breakfast - lots of choice, local produce with homemade jams, scones etc. Buck’s Fizz complimentary with breakfast. The bathroom was light and modern with a selection of high quality products to use during our stay. The bed was really comfortable and we slept well feeling refreshed to wonder around the quaint town, or take a walk in the countryside or simply enjoy the many dog friendly pubs and brewery in Kirby Lonsdale. Marton Arms Hotel - Carnforth - Building

8.9 Excellent (322 reviews)
C$ 153+
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service and friendliness of the staff The food was excellent Loved it and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing stay
Cons: Loved the whole place ... cant fault it
6.8 Good
Pros: The room was ideal, clean and the bathroom was nice. The breakfast was really good and the waitress was very efficient. considering there were lots of guests staying it wasn't noisy.
Cons: when i booked the room i then e mailed to ask if i could book a table for the night we were staying. as i didnt receive a reply i then rang them and booked a table. A few days before our travel a lady contacted me to say i had booked a table twice. The day before we travelled a man rang asking if we would like to book a table because we were not booked in!. We arrived in the pub at 8pm as we had a table booked for 8.15pm. We had had a very long tiring day so we decided to just order main meals and not starters. A table of 9 were seated next to us at 8.45pm. at this time we still hadn't had our food. At 9.15pm the table of 9 received their starters but we still hadnt received our food and no one had spoken to us since taking our order. I then asked where our food was and eventually we received our mains at 9.30pm - the same time as the table next to us received theirs. The actually meal which was fish and chips was really good. There was no apology or explanation given to us from the waitress why our food was so delayed. The only person that did apologise for the complete lack of service was the bar person when we came to pay. Tthe accommodation is fine but i wouldn't recommend eating here as the service is appalling
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The location is lovely and the staff were friendly and tried their best
Cons: The room was shabby 1980s and smelled of damp. Rusty fittings in the bathroom which was more akin to a public toilet. The room was sparse and tatty - and what was claimed to be a “patio” was, in fact, the seating area at the front of the pub Service for dinner and breakfast was unbelievably slow (simply not enough staff and organisation) - we’re talking 30 minute waits here and the burgers at dinner virtually inedible. All this for the same price as places like The Royal and The Sun in Kirkby Lonsdale. A tragedy - it could be a great little hotel and restaurant .... instead of which it doesn’t even rate as mediocre. Never again !!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was cooked to perfection .Good variety of breakfast cearials and fruit juice . Comfortable pillow and quilt
Cons: The Hotel is in off the beaten track without access to busses or taxies . The hotel kindly provided me with transport to the nearest bus stop.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very nice and very welcoming staff. Evening meals were also of high quality and good value.
Cons: Little bit more choice on the evening menu ( for the fussy folk - maybe a pie and peas option)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and evening meal. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely historic old inn in a beautiful setting.
Cons: The bedroom curtains could do to be thicker as it was very light in the room.
6.8 Good
Pros: Bar and restaurant were excellent. Location great. Good value. Staff great. Would definitely come back for the food and drink.
Cons: What let it down was the rooms. They were damp, smelly and the walls were paper thin. Despite wanting to keep our belongings safe, we had to keep the windows open constantly to combat the smell. Combined with the sound of other guests using the toilet and whatever else led to lacking in sleep. We overheard all of the other guests who were staying also complaining so I know we weren't alone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast Very Good Lots Of Choice. Excellent location to relax & unwind. Restaurant & bar area very comfortable with an amazing sound system that could be heard clearly without interrupting conversation. DOG Friendly Fantastic
Cons: Although the food was amazing it would have been nice to have had just a couple of traditional pub meals to choose from & a children's menu
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely situation
Cons: No chair in bedroom
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff are super friendly, food and location great, and great for dogs x

6.8 Good
Pros: breakfast was very slow,we got offered drinks but then waited about 20 mins then we had to ask for toast as by this time we still had not been asked if we wanted cooked breakfast and we had to wait 10 minutes for toast and we were going somewhere else when we left,
Cons: better service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a great find. The place is in a beautiful setting. The room was very comfy and very clean. The food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was excellent. The staff were all friendly and professional. The host was a great character who made us feel very welcome as did the locals. I would recommend this property.
Cons: Nothing it was a perfect stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cottage was absolutely gorgeous and exceeded my expectations. I booked it as a surprise for my husbands 40th and he loved it. My 5 year old and dog also enjoyed it too. We only came for a weekend but wished it was longer.
Cons: Can't fault it, just wish we could have stayed longer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love that place! We came in very late and we received warm welcome from the hotel, no issues with very late check-in. Spacious, clean room. Nice pub and restaurant. I would definitely recommend this place and come back again :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal for what we wanted and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: A few minor things: Like a lot of hotels there's not always anywhere in the bathroom to hang anything - like a towel when getting out of the shower. A hook on the back of the bathroom door would have been ideal. The light over the sink in the bathroom didn't work either but it wasn't too much of a problem - just thought you should know! The other thing was, that we had a meal with friends one evening and were given two menus - the bar menu and the ordinary menu. After deciding what we wanted the waitress told us we couldn't order off both menus, only one or the other because of varying cooking times. It would have been helpful if she'd told us that when she gave us the menus! We still couldn't understand the thinking behind this because surely, in a kitchen, this must happen with different dishes anyway.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very welcoming arrival. The staff were all friendly and the hotel was spotless. Dinner in the restaurant was nice. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant
Cons: TV not working
7.0 Good
Pros: Very helpful staff, stopped serving food and the staff went out of their way to get us food and make sure we had everything we needed.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Not a lot really. Hotel trying very hard to be something they will never be. The only thing I could be positive about was a comfy bed.
Cons: Very dull rooms. Room in need of a new flooring in the bathroom area. Rooms very dull. Television in room was so small and very old remote did not work. Bathroom light glass shade missing, this could be seen as dangerous be some people. Cups in the room had not been cleaned since the last time they where used. Breakfast terrible, the service at breakfast was very poor. Took our order and then brought one breakfast completely wrong we ordered one English breakfast and one vegie breakfast, got two English breakfasts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was super comfy, room had a bath, staff were really polite.
Cons: There was a big crack in the bathroom door and it was very hot- air conditioning would've been great (didn't want to open the window as it was very close to the road).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Only a two minute walk to station. Rooms was ideal and plenty of space . Restaurant was excellent and a good meal to choose from . Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Think the only thing we were disappointed with was that we had been out all day and had just got off a train and arrived back at hotel at 10.15pm on probably the hottest day of the year to find that the bar was closed. We wanted a cold drink and couldn’t get one...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was ok - another piece of bacon would have been welcome - a bit pricey for what it was.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very pleasant Breakfast was cooked really well no grease Very clean
Cons: We stayed in room 20 it was a good size but a little tired ie chair was a bit threadbare and couple of tiles missing in bathroom
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The only downside was the dormer window in our bedroom did not close and the noise from the traffic and seagulls made it impossible to get a good nights sleep We wouldn't stay in room 22 again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room provided everything we required for our stay, first impressions of the room was great, it was tidy, presentable n welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and the general facilities tea coffee and television were more than adequate for our needs. Thanks
Cons: Only the road noise at night, some seem to think it's good to use as a race track. Which is beyond the control of The County Hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, ample parking space
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location lovely little cottage clean and tidy
5.8 Okay
Pros: On arrival, we were told that the hotel was closed until 4 p.m. the next day, ‘due to a busy bank holiday weekend’. Thus we did not make use of the hotel itself. What we liked - the bed was comfortable and the bedroom spacious. We liked having external access for our dog.
Cons: As it turns out, it was a good thing the hotel (pub?) was closed as the noise could have been dreadful both nights. The accommodation door opens directly out to the beer garden and parking area. Furthermore, the noise from neighbouring rooms is dreadful - you can hear others speaking, rickety stair cases, bathroom use, and we were also subject to loud banging from near by that the owner claimed to know nothing about. Thus there seemed elements of disrespect for visitors in our opinion. On arrival the one member of staff available said he’d tried to ring us - but clearly did not do so before we set off on our journey. And, why did they accept bookings at a time when they knew that they were shut? Maybe because they know guests can use facilities at other establishments? Bit of a cheek to charge full price for use of hotel facilities that are not available, isn’t it? However, this town is lovely and the river views are well worth a visit. Also, there are indeed other hotels very close by serving lovely food and drinks by friendly staff. Perhaps avoid this one, unless you like knocking them back to the early hours when you might then possibly have a quiet night. Not for us.
6.3 Good
Pros: Good location on our journey route
Cons: Basic bit scruffy and no breakfast in the price which was quite high for the accommodation as it stands.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was what I expected.
Cons: It was football night which I didn't know. It wasn't a issue really though. I am more of a week day introvert person. People are allowed to have fun though. So no complaints.

Pros: The staff and food were lovely.
Cons: The bathroom wall In a corner near the ceiling had mold on it.
6.8 Good
Pros: Great location to visit the falls, only 3 min walking distance.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were there for the Three Peaks Challenge and the staff were fantastic, accommodating our early start with a continental breakfast delivered to the room and a packed lunch for the day. The food is great and the pub is very welcoming.
Cons: The only downside was a refurb was happening while we were there but it didn't affect our enjoyment of the accommodation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food and facilities were excellent, staff very friendly. The Wheatsheaf were very accommodating of our early start to do the YTP walk and provided a great take out breakfast and lunch service.
Cons: Nothing really to add here! We really enjoyed our stay.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good, well my cooked breakfast.....my wife had scrambled egg on toast the toast was not buttered and so had to be tipped off to butter then scraped back on. building works were ongoing (we were not informed when we booked) and we sat with workmen in the breakfast room showing each other videos etc on mobile phones.
Cons: Room was clean and comfortable, but the shower was very small, we were asked to leave the bar at about 22.50 and told we could take our drinks to our rooms if we hadn't finished them....just felt a bit rushed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The home made Steak and Ale pie was excellent!!!
Cons: Bed linen torn. Cobwebs in room. Decor poor. Compared to other establishments of similar price there is a significant difference!!!
7.5 Good
Pros: Lots of things
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, nice micro pub down the road (the old post office)
6.3 Good
Pros: The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. Food portions were large and the food quality was ok. Suited hungry walkers after a full day on the fells. Bar was lively and well frequented and good welcoming staff. The Hotel was a little tired however it was a cheap deal and overall fair value.
Cons: Poor décor overall felt a little rundown. Food portions were hearty but quality was mediocre. Juice at breakfast was stale
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very peaceful location. Ingleton's a lovely place. The breakfast was nice and the lady who served it was very friendly.
Cons: Pecca Falls twin room: Damp on the bedroom walls and mould on the bathroom walls (and not just a bit). Also, the bathroom had not been properly cleaned. There were 'marks' and hairs on the toilet and the floor was pretty grim. Mattress was also uncomfy. For £75/night for one person, I'd expect better. Also, I was charged twice for my stay. This was refunded as soon as I asked, but looking at the reviews this is not the first time it has happened so they need to review their systems.

Pros: We had a great room and was clean and of a good size overlooking the nice grounds.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Some staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was generally good, especially evening meal.
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable. Room was too warm, asked for a fan for 2nd night, as hadn’t slept at all well 1st night. Was told they didn’t have any fans as “It’s usually cold here” Room somewhat in need of decoration. There was a hole and cracks in the top of the bathroom wall and the suite was very dated.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location and the fact it has a spa
Cons: Looking shabby inside in all areas. The restaurant needs a good painting and the picture changing if not cleaning. The bedroom the walls were paint scuffed quite badly. The dressing table was like a school desk with scratches and missing paint. The bathroom, behind the sink the silicone was grubby. The shower base was in places black and the shower pipe was tied with an old hair bobble!! Probably not stay again
6.3 Good
Pros: The buffet breakfast
Cons: The male manager was extremely vulgar and rude in a sexual manner
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was lovely and enough choice. Staff friendly at breakfast and good service. Room comfortable. Little old fashioned and needs some updating but that wouldn’t deter me from staying again. The Hotel is positioned well to drive to any part of the lakes.
Cons: My only issue was the room was on the road side of the property so quite noisy when the window was open. Went for a late drink on Sunday at 10pm and the bar was already closed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent restaurant, the food was amazing. Great leisure facilities, we made good use of inclusive pool, gym and sauna.
