Overview

Occidental Cozumel is a fantastic resort located on the tropical island oasis of Cozumel. The Occidental is located on the beautiful San Francisco beach, is right by the blue paradise of the Palancar Reef system. From gourmet dining and nightly entertainment, to daily sports and beach activities, there is something to be enjoyed by all guests.

With seven restaurants and five bars, guests will discover the secrets of the best Mexican and international cuisines. Some like La Posada are international buffet style that guests can enjoy at any time of day. And some like Sonora offer specific Mexican cuisine that requires reservations ahead of time. La Mision is a bar and dance club for adults that operates nightly. Of course, the classic poolside eats and drinks are available at multiple locations around the many pools that Occidental offers.

Activities abound as the hotel’s tropical mangrove and marine surroundings are one of the top five scuba destinations in the world. A wide range of other sports such as kayaking, sailing, snorkeling and water polo, and the hotel features fully-equipped facilities with a spa, gym, and beach club.

Guests will sleep well each night in either a king or double room that has individual controls for air conditioning. Seven different options of rooms will meet any guest’s size needs or accommodations. A minibar is included as well at no extra charge. WiFi is available for an additional charge in each room. No doubt the Occidental Cozumel will be back on the list of places to visit after an experience unlike many others.

Pros (+) Location was absolutely gorgeous along with facilities. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons (-) The food could be better, it’s not bad, just not a lot of variety. Could use a little more introduction to the property of how it all works and where everything was located.
