Not the vehicle I reserved
Pros: Was new vehicle
Cons: I was not vehicle I reserved smaller and without four-wheel-drive. They should allow you to select specific vehicle and have it available for you.

Worst service ever!
Pros: The car we were given was very nice and I enjoyed driving it. Great condition and very clean.
Cons: We took the train to Reno, and had to go to the airport to pick up the vehicle. We prepaid for the vechile, and when we got there the deposit surpassed my credit limit on my card, we tried to use our regular bank card and we were told because we didn't have a flight itinerary we could not. I don't understand the difference between a flight itinerary and a train itinerary. In this day in age I don't understand the difference between a credit card and a bank card either, you should take the one with lots of money on it. I understand policy is policy but read through the entire agreement and was not informed we would have a deposit on the car as large as the 10 day rental. I would have been more prepared. The worst part, was Alma, the woman checking us in. She was so condescending, I have never felt smaller in my life. She offered no solutions or suggestions except to have more money, which was available on the bank card. We ended up having to rent from another company for a day, hassel free with the bank card, drive around strange city to transfer money wait for the transfers to clear drive back to the airport return our expensive temporary rental pick up our paid for rental all while dealing with a person that made me want to puke, cry or punch her in face all at the same time.

Pros: Price was excellent. Return associates were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Vehicle had prior, noted body damage. Vehicle did not have a full fuel tank when picked up. Vehicle was not equipped with satellite radio. Associate at pick up desk was not friendly, seemed like I was a bother with my questions, was not busy.

Fast and easy pick up and drop off
Pros: Located right at the baggage claim. Grab your luggage and walk across the room to get your car. Car is right outside the door in the parking structure. Incredibly easy compared to other international airports. Car was really clean on the inside and didn't smell weird. The outside was dirty but I could careless.
Cons: They want you to use an actual credit card. If you use a debit/credit bank card they will do a credit check on you. Apparently if you are local they won't take a bank card at all. It only slowed up my process by a minute or so. It wouldn't have even been noticeable if the costumer service rep didn't tell me.

Car type never avialable at that location
Cons: The clerk actually laughed at us when we said we had rented an Audi A4. We ended up with an Infinity SUV. Nice, but not what I was looking for.

Cons: Needed a major credit card to rent. I paid for insurance so why do I need a credit card to rent a vehicle. Not everyone in this world wants to carry around a credit card so they can go into debt.

great car in the snow
Pros: We had to drive in some snow and ice around Heavenly Valley ski resort and this little car took it all in stride. No problems getting around.

Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: It was snowing in reno. Paid 90 for a more reliable car in snow. Got a very small VW tiguan as an upgrade. Was expecting something bigger the way it was described. My original car would have been same size or bigger.

Full size? A Hyundai Accent?
Pros: No problems with pickup or drop off.
Cons: This may be more of an issue with Kayak than Dollar. I searched for a full size rental and filtered the results accordingly. I thought the Kayak offer was as a full size (Fusion) but it was for a midsize (Accent). The car itself wasn't bad. The strings for the privacy cover on the hatchback were missing so loading hatch area was more difficult (had to remove the cover or hold it up while loading.

Cons: Would never consider anything smaller-Fiesta noisy on open expressway.

Nissan Sentra Rental
Pros: New clean car, very fuel efficient. Car handled very well and was easy to park. Very friendly staff and was very informative. Car rental price was extremely cheap and the cheapest prices available at the Airport.
Cons: Nissan Sentra was extremely underpowered. I was not able to merge onto the highway properly due to the car not being able to get up to speed in time. The car was also losing speed when going up a steeper hill even when I had the gas petal all the way down. Very disappointed in Nissan vehicles.

Pros: Easy. Friendly staff. We needed a larger car to accommodate an extra person and luggage and were able to upgrade at the counter without a hassle.

Hidden charges, unreasonable expectations
Pros: New car, clean and comfortable. No issues with the vehicle at all.
Cons: Low advertised rate but hidden "concession charge" We vacuumed, wiped down the interior, and washed the car but were still charged $100 for detailing since there was a little dust lift on some of the vinyl surfaces and there was dust in the engine compartment. We picked up the car at 11PM, were charged for a weekly rate(only needed 5 days), but were asked to return it by noon on day 5.

Pros: It was great to drive from Reno to SF, and not have to return the car to Reno
Cons: I wish I didn't have to drop the car at the airport; my hotel was 1/2 block from the Dollar office in SF, and it would have been more convenient to drop it there.

Fairly Priced....But I Was Still Overcharged
Pros: Pros -The car was clean when we got it -It was still available even though our flight was stranded for a day elsewhere -Upgrade was fairly priced
Cons: Cons -For only having 4,700 miles on it the upgraded vehicle we got had some issues. One of the warning lights went on a day after we had rented it from Dollar which suggests that maybe the didn't do maintenance prior to giving us the car. This put us in a bind to fix it ourselves. The car also kept making sounds like it had difficultly going uphill, we were in Northern CA so of course there are hills. I don't know if it was just the car brand or poor upkeep. -We paid for a full tank when we picked up the car but turned it in with 3 quarters of the tank full. When I asked if it was possible to only be charged for the quarter tank missing I was told I'd have to talk to management because Dollar didn't usually do that. Which is weird because I'm used to Enterprise and they've been willing to. We were going to be late for our flight and didn't see anyone inside that I could talk to right away so had to leave paying more for the rental than we should have.

I will never rent from Dollar again.
Pros: The car had AC.
Cons: The service at RNO was horrible and rude. The support at the call center as well. After receiving terrible service the car wasn't even ready when they said it would be and I had to wait more. Then, they overcharged me on my return and had to deal with that. I will never rent here again, or let anyone I know rent from Dollar. I hope they treat their employees better than their customers.

Rental was straightforward but didn't match deal f
Pros: Friendly rental agent and could walk from baggage claim to car
Cons: Didn't honor deal for insurance setup through Kayak. Insurance cost 3 times as much as expected.

Good price, decent value!
Pros: Newer vehicle with 5k miles, courteous staff, decent value.
Cons: Wasn't clean inside, we found everything from meds to chocolate milk that wasn't ours. Slow checkout because the bar code wouldn't scan outside.

Pros: Arrived close to midnight concerned we were too late for rental. Check in in was very easy and no hard sell on insurance, which was awesome! Had reserved a small car, but none left so received a mini van which turned out to be perfect for our short visit. Thank you!

Cons: Unable to easily cancel car rental appointment. Got a much better deal through Costco. Costco and Alamo were awsome!

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. They picked out a car that was perfect for my needs and made sure I wouldn't be stuck in snow with a small car. I can't thank them enough for their help.

Pros: Everything was fine except for the very high cost of insurance.
Cons: Price given was deceptive. When we went to pick up the car the sales people convinced us that the insurance we had bought via Kayak was essentially worthless, then they sold us insurance that cost about $25/day, more than the rental itself. A second problem is that only SUV's had IPod ports -- this seems pretty basic in this day and age.

Pros: The staff was great. Checkin and check out was very efficient.
Cons: Thought for the dollars charged the insurance coverage was not good. Seemed very very high. Also car had a previous smoker and you could tell instantaneously. Also beer bottle and stray mitten under passenger seat.
