Pros: Brilliant location to explore West side of Hamburg, the harbour and of course the Reeperbahn - very close metro links nearby. Very nice room, clean and tidy. Large shower. Plenty of plug sockets and fridge in the room. Very helpful staff made check in and out a breeze.

Cons: Lighting was a little dim in the room, especially near the only full length mirror. Some small modernisations such as USB charging sockets maybe helpful - nothing major though.

Pros: We stayed at the Westin Hamburg only one night, but it was excellent! We got a better room category than we had booked, with a spectacular view over the city, and the room was also available at arrival at approx 10am. And they have quite late check-out time of 12am. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The location could not have been better, inside the Elbphilharmonie with free access to it with the hotel card. We could also leave our baggage there until our departure really late at 8pm.

Cons: We reserve a room but they gave us a totally different room when we asked them about the reason they said u should mentioned the room in the comments section which was very misleading the pictures of the room we select in booking site were not numbered or named how can I mention the room I wanted,so we told them that we want to cancel we don't want to stay they said we can't give u back ur money only half of it because u paid in advance even if u don't stay, which was unfair at all we were looking forward to stay at this hotel but unfortunately the experience was disappointing the staff they didn't cooperate with us and eventually we stayed at a basic room which was horrible with not clean with flying bugs.

Cons: Only thing missing in room was USB charging points. With this quality of hotel we did expect them and didn’t bring our uk/Europe converters . Hair dryer also kept burning out could only use for a few secs at a time before it stopped working. Everything else fantastic .

Pros: Perfect location for the Christmas markets. The hotel was clean and modern. Our room was beautiful, with a very stylish wardrobe. The bathroom was divided with a glass window creating an open plan feel. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there are so many interesting Cafe's, bakery's and restaurants nearby. The swimming pool and sauna is open until 11pm so great if you want a late night swim! We were able to check in early which was brilliant, then for no extra cost the hotel allowed us a later check out, which was very handy!

Smoking room, albeit especially designed for cigars lovers. Coffee, vitamin bars, juice and water in the lobby, "for our runners". Good quality toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and towels. Polite and discreet staff, without being annoying. The co-ordinated light fixtures in the room. The quality of the bedding. The bathroom with a double sink and the scales beneath, a mirror on the whole door, the magnifying make up mirror and floor heating at will. Umbrella and shoe spoon in the room. In the evening, the live piano in the lobby, sitting by the log fire- authentic wood, nonetheless. The displays of navigation utensils in the halls, consistent with the Atlantic theme of the hotel.

Pros: I have celiacs disease, they were really good at catering for this, a huge basket of gluten free breads, cereals and cakes turned up at breakfast and I was walked through which items on the buffet were gluten free, which included the nuremberger sausages.
Add to this that the service is truly 5*, not always the case in 5* hotels, the high ceilings in the rooms, the pool, gym, sauna, gf steak tartare for supper, the view of the Alster at breakfast, it really can't be improved on.
AND most importantly all of the staff, without exception, were friendly, helpful and went the extra distance to make sure you really felt looked after.

Cons: The WiFi was slowly and to pay a symbolic price of 3 euro per day for fast WiFi does not fit to 2020 anymore, but this seems to be a general problem in Germany, take a look at 5 star hotels in China, WiFi is fast and for free.

Cons: Funnily enough, our room- 445- included a pillar in a rather central position, something we never encountered in lower rated hotels... There was no panick button in the bathroom. Only two elevators for a hotel of this size, resulting in healthy walks to/from our room.

Cons: Hotel needs a lot of work and updating . Lobby carpeting very shabby and dirty. Rooms were not at all attractive and had a musty odor. I would give this hotel 3 Stars definitely this is not a 5 Star hotel.

Cons: We had to queue for breakfast on the first day for over 15 minutes and needed to ask 3 times for the breakfast from their extra menu. We had the feeling, that they had too few space and staff to cater for everyone, although the staff were friendly.

Pros: The Hotel is located close to the Hamburg main train station. The city center is in walking distance. The area, St. Georg, is very multicultural so that there are many convenient stores and different kind of restaurants open until late. The hotel service was very good and the staff polite. We arrived quite early so that we usually had to wait for check-in. But the receptionist just had a quick look at the computer and allocated us our room without additional fees. Furthermore, the beds are absolutely comfortable!

Cons: 1. the first room I was given was not smelling good . so I asked for changing the room and they accepted it. 2. I had big note only and had to change it to pay the taxi, the hotel didn't accept first, so I come up with another solution. all of these took 10 mins and the taxi driver had to wait and of course charged me extra . 3. the land telephone was not working outside of hotel. it was restricted and the staff couldn't solve the problem.

Cons: A Very argumentative waiter in the restaurant that took us “at school” because we complained about the main course. The food was not fresh and looked as if it had been waiting to be served. We send the food back and he was very mad. First we waited a long time for our entrees. When we finished our entrees the main course came after 30 seconds. The waiter kept on debating our choice - we gave up paid all most 200€ for this sad experience.

It took a while to get warm and then was too hot as its always difficult to regulated a heating system which you aren't familiar with. It would make sense to put the heating on at least at a low level in the middle of winter.

Pros: The hotel has a nice rooftop bar with a great view of the harbor. The location is nice, close to several restaurants and bars.
Cons: The hotel seems to be a fancy one, but the room was very poor. Also, during the night there was a lot of noise from something that we could not understand what it was. We complained on the next morning and the hotel said they would check, but on the next evening, the same noise happened again.

Cons: I reserved the single room and for 3 night i paid around 500 euro ,but the room was extremely extremely small,and there were only a small radiator which couldn’t warm up the room and the room was so cold and I couldn’t sleep at night because of this temperature, i asked them for extra blanket they said we cant give you extra blanket. If you want to enjoy your stay dont go to this hotel

Pros: Good selction for breakfast. Helpful end efficient staff. Very good location and atmosphere. I imagine it is a perfect location for summerstays/weekendstays.
Cons: The breakfast included many different dishes but I missed more healthy and greenie selections as well. The dinner was not so nice. Fish was dry and boring.

Cons: Internet connection was basically unusable slow. For regular surfing you needed patience, but a Skype call would be impossible, full stop every 2 minutes for 2 minutes. For business travel not recommendable, the front desk couldn't do anything about it. Other than that: relatively noisy AC system in the backyard, room way too tiny for the price, double bed was actually two tiny beds pushed together, breakfast food quality was a bit cheap. Besides the internet overall acceptable, but not for that price.

Cons: They did not have a safety box for our valuables - it is nowadays considered as a standard in a room. As an alternative, we were offered a safety box at the reception with a key which is also old fashioned (safety boxes with pin-codes are a common approach today).

Cons: Limited number of servers at breakfast so most mornings getting coffee at the table was slow. Taxis needs to be ordered at the front desk. One morning I had to wait 30 minutes for taxi to arrive. This was not the hotel's fault but just more a caution that taxis do not circulate this area (unlike at other hotels I have stayed at where taxis are waiting outside). Limited English TV channels.

In addition to this, they left the window open one day after cleaning the room and when I arrived it was freezing inside. This was unacceptable for a hotel and I asked for a heater. Luckily I could sleep well the second night.

As I stayed for only one night with an early departure I didn't get to try the bar or breakfast but it looked nice. The Staff were very helpful. I had left an item in my room after check out and they allowed me to go back up and get it. If I had to mark down on one thing it would be the area. The hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the HBF (main) Train station however there is a U Bahn very close by.

Pros: The location of this hotel is close to the Planten un Blomen Park and if you are ok walking you can get to most of the downtown places within 15 to 30 minutes. Restaurant for evening meals is good.
Cons: I have stayed at the Radisson a few times over the past year for business. My main observation is that the service/quality has dropped. Check in was efficient and I was given a room on the same floor as the business class rooms and for a standard room it had a very nice view (20th floor). I recently became a VIP member of a frequent traveler program and it was only after I checked in and received an email from them asking if I had been informed about my VIP benefits that I realized that maybe my room assignment was partly because of that benefit and they had forgotten to inform me. However upon check out when I asked if my food and beverage had been discounted as per my membership benefits, I had to provide the email as “evidence”. On top of that the discount only applied to meals at the restaurant but not breakfast or minibar drinks. Other things to note: value for money is not as good. For example, many other hotels now have nespresso coffee machines as standard in their rooms. Here it only is available if you book a business class room. Rooms are clean but the bathrooms need upgrading. Breakfast used to have an egg station but that has now gone, although there is a good selection for breakfast items, it is expensive compared to other hotels in money vs selection. Finally there is a significant amount of construction around the area. During my previous stays, taxis were waiting outside the hotel during the mornings but now it seems like they only come through the area for drop off at the train station. I had to wait 20 minutes one morning to get a taxi from there.

Cons: The WiFi didn't work, which is really unacceptable these days. Add to that the noise from building work; old-fashioned, very uncomfortable feather-filled German pillows and horrible decor, and this is certainly not a hotel I would use again for a business trip.

Cons: The hotel was not a five star hotel by any standards, everything was old and worn and the airconditioning in the room was noisy, so noisy you could not sleep. The spa was not in use, and nothing was offered in stead. The furniture was from 1980 by the look of it. The coffee machine in the room was difficult to use.

Cons: The management of the hostel did some how managed during our stay to put some young British High School “Hooligans” on the same floor as my family consisting of 3 children and 2 adults. This ment that the 1. Floor was turned into a rave-party for the whole night - screeming and shouting. I welcome the Briexit for sure :-)
