⭐ 1 Star — Absolutely Terrible Customer Service I reserved a full-size truck online through Hertz, with a 5:00 PM pickup time clearly specified on my reservation. I arrived at 5:00 PM only to be told they had no trucks available. No advance notice, no phone call, no email—nothing. Instead of helping resolve the problem, the employee gave me a phone number for the downtown location and essentially sent me on my way. I called the number and was first routed through an AI system, then transferred to an overseas call center where communication was extremely difficult. The representative’s solution? Give me a list of local Hertz offices and tell me to call around myself to see if anyone had the vehicle Hertz had already confirmed and reserved for me. I honestly cannot believe this is how a legitimate national rental car company operates. What is the point of making a reservation if Hertz doesn’t have the vehicle and makes the customer hunt around town for one? I finally called Enterprise down the street, made a reservation, and they took care of me. Hertz turned what should have been a simple rental into a complete waste of time. Some of the poorest customer service I’ve experienced. Never again.Reviewed 16 Aug 2026

Went to website to add another day to rental, accidently canceled. Called the phone number and explained that I fat-fingered the buttons, I did not want to cancel but add another day. The associate was very unhelpful and still penalized us with a cancellation fee that was a few dollars less than the rental was. I will never use Hertz again and will tell everyone to go to Enterprise instead.Reviewed 15 May 2024

Office seemed disorganized and unprofessional. There were two other customers ahead of me and I waited nearly 20 minutes to be waited on while the agents chatted with customers. Drop off was very smooth, but pick up was agonizingly tedious.. Also, I was not aware of that. I had to go offsite out of the airport to pick up the car. I had been a Budget customer previously, and intend to go back to Budget next time.Reviewed 12 May 2024

When I drove off the lot a warning message appeared. Went back and the service representative took the time and effort to ensure it was an adjustment from the last driver and everything was good. A thousand miles later things were still good. Thank you to that gentleman at Hertz (off Woodman road in north Colorado Springs).Reviewed 14 Dec 2023

Hertz was the only company in town that had minivans available, so I didn't have a choice on where to go to rent. In the past, I have rented a car for a full week and only paid at the most $600 for unlimited miles. This rental was 4 days, and it cost me $1200, so the value for the experience was definitely not seen. Unfortunately, I had to have this size vehicle, and no other options in town were available. That being said, the entire experience of pickup and drop-off was excellent. In and out rather quickly, and back on the road. The vehicle we received was amazingly comfortable with just enough bells and whistles to make the trip quite pleasant. One thing I love about renting is I get to preview a much newer car without buying and see if I might be interested in purchasing one a little bit later in the future. I definitely loved this vehicle and was sad to have to return it. The only other inconvenience was the location for drop-off, as there was nothing within 50 miles of my home, so I had to drive 80 miles one-way in order to return the vehicle. It would be nice if there had been other options. I definitely felt quite limited and restricted with this rental, and I don't like not having choices to get the most out of my monetary investment.Reviewed 18 Nov 2021
