My rental was cancelled on the day of pick up. Apparently the website was wrong and should not have offered the rental I chose as it was never available. The rental was not cancelled until the day of pick up despite knowing well before hand. While it clearly was unimportant to the sales associate that called me to tell me, it ruined a trip to move my twins into college that I had planned to use the van I rented to make the long trip easier on everyone. I have never been so disappointed, so rudely dismissed by the sales associate I spoke with and so disappointed in a company. It made me acutely aware that Hertz doesn't care about the customer. They care only about money and when I asked to speak to a supervisor the sales associate said I could ask but no one would ever call me back. Awful experience!Reviewed 4 Aug. 2021

Pros:Staff was friendly.Cons:We rented a compact online but when we arrived they only offered sub-compact. We were picking up right at closing which kayak nor Hertz notified us about. Had we not arrived early we would have been unable to pick up rental and would have had to pay for 2 full days prior to being able to pick upReviewed 27 Aug. 2019

Poor independent owner. Don’t recommend!!!Cons:Car was reserved over a month in advance. No car was available at time of pick up. Owner upgraded for free but because my rental was over 30 days he was unable to give originally agreed price for entire trip. Waited until I was stares away to give me a hard time and told me car had too many miles etc. we had unlimited miles and in the end he charged us more than the agreed cost. Please be more dynamicPros:They matched the cheaper price I found online after some encouragement on my part. The car I got was good.Cons:The car itself was onlly half full with gas which was not great for me who just wanted to get from A to B fast. Nobody at the office when I walked in, took a while for the only employee to come back. They should have uniforms (saves staff wearing silver belt buckles that have turned rusty...it just looks like you're not paying people a lot) and was so laid-back it took me quite a while to actually get the car when I was really only renting it to save time and to get to my destination faster. Other people got annoyed when he disappeared dealing with my car, saying "where did he go to!?!". I needed a car to go to a very major city and asked for advice on where to drop it off, given that I am foreign. I expected him to be able to look up where Hertz drop off-places in that city are and to show me but that was not the case. It took him a while to get his phone out to do some research for me. I wish he'd be more creative and enthusiastic to put in some research on the best prices in the area, the possible drop-off locations etc I also had to show him online prices from a third party site for him to research if he could match that price, i.e. give me a much cheaper rate- which he could, no problem. I wish they'd do that as a default. Having said that, he was helpful and nice, just taking his time doing so.Reviewed 22 May 2018

Still waiting for my funds....Pros:The customer service team is helpful abd friendly.Cons:I was over charged instead of holding $200 for my debit card I had $400p ut on hold. To this day I am still waiting on the last $200 to be put in my account.Reviewed 7 May 2017
