The van that I had reserved and paid for 3 months in advance was "not available" when we arrived to pick it up. I specifically needed a large vehicle for college graduation and move out and this affected plans and I had to scramble to make new arrangements which cost twice as much. We had prepaid the Chevy Malibu and the agent said we had a 7 passenger reserved but if we downgraded to a Ford Edge we would save some money. No refund was issued. When returning the vehicle there was no agent to accent the vehicle and poor instructions on how to return it without an agent.Reviewed 7 Mar. 2022

We reserved a premium car. None were available (I understand) and we were given a Ford Ecosport. The smallest of SUV's. When we asked for a rate adjustment, they refused. Also the two drivers side tires were extremely low on pressure and missing valve stem caps. It is extremely difficult to find a source for airing up tires. When we returned to Sarasota, the pickup return location was chaotic. No one present to help, we didn't receive a final receipt, and the service overall was extremely poor. I guess the public are at the rental car companies mercy these days. Very disappointing.Reviewed 29 Dec. 2021

Was given a "Supplier's Choice" car which meant the smallest, dirtiest car in their inventory. I can only imagine few people want a Ford Fiesta that was not only tiny but also still dirty. Both the mirrors and side windows were obstructed by what looked like water stains and finger prints. My partner and I were too tired and in a hurry to go back and change the vehicle at the time of pickup but should I ever use Hertz in Knoxville again I will be double checking the vehicle quality and size before driving off. Book "Supplier's Choice" at your own risk. The cost was only slightly reduced at the time of booking for the inconvenience that the vehicle provided.Reviewed 29 Dec. 2021

My plane was called back to the gate twice, putting me in Knoxville at 1220 am. The agent said that the deal was canceled because it was after midnight. He then tried to rent me a car for over 7 hundred dollars more than the original price. I got a car at Budget later that morning for less than the price of the original lease.Reviewed 2 Dec. 2021

I do understand I booked thru Kayak, which promoted Priceline advance purchase. The desk agent was rude, I had to continually ask questions about gas location, my car, she didn’t offer an upgrade nor did she even thank me for using Hertz. My vehicle was all the way at the end, it appeared to be someone’s local vehicle, it was filthy inside: seats are all stained, there was no sticker on the vehicle for extra cleaning due to COVID and it was SMOKED in… it took two days for the smell to be air ped out. I worked for Hertz in Tampa for 3 years, I would have been embarrassed to rent this vehicle out to anyone. I also, work for AMEX Global Business Travel, she was not acceptable as a executive travel counselor or even just an AMEX employee. The vehicle had mechanical issues on top of the the other issues.Reviewed 31 Aug. 2021
