Charged more than they should havePros:The car was clean and nice.Cons:Pick-up- we were forced to purchase "mandatory" insurance that more than doubled the price of our entire rental. Drop-off - The agent first tried to charge us extra for miles, because he said we only paid for 2 days of a rental. I had pre-paid for 3 days, and had to show him the confirmation twice, where it was clearly written "3 Days". After he couldn't charge me for extra miles, he tried to charge me an extra fee for picking up and dropping off at a different location, even though I had specified (and paid!) for that when making my reservation. Drop-off took well over 45 minutes - I have never had a car rental drop off take so long or have them try to charge us for so many bogus charges.Reviewed 29 May 2018

BewarePros:NothingCons:BEWARE. Cars are not ready at quoted time. When we arrived, other customers had been waiting for 2+ hours. They try to scam you into buying their insurance, which is not required (read the other reviews for this location on Google maps); then, they insisted if we didn’t buy their insurance they had to but a $10,000 USD hold on our credit card. We called them out on their scamming, the woman at the counter laughed at us. We canceled, used their WiFi to book with Budget a few blocks away, and rented without hassle from them instead.Reviewed 13 Jan. 2019

Pros:Hertz in Lima did not honor the reservation I had made on Kayak. At the 6517 Avenida Javier Prado Este, La Molina location reservation #J2482495213, they said they did not have a reservation for me. I showed them my Kayak confirmation and they said sorry they had no more cars and their was nothing under my name. At the Hertz215 Pasaje Tello, location,Conf. #J2484735202 they said they had my reservation but could not honor the price I had reserved it for on Kayak for $130 but they charged me $380.Cons:Honor the reservation I made with Kayak.Reviewed 8 Feb. 2020

Cons:In car delivery lack of signalling I made the car reservation on net $184.55.But the price at the airport is other price $648.65 I had complete insurance with my credit card I presented the papers and girl tell me that it was not worth in Peru but they forced to buy other insurance already assured by my credit card.Didn't have my reservation number . Horrible experience, never againCons:We waited more than an hour after our flight to receive a car even though there were two ladies at the counter and one was free. Turn out one did not know what she was doing so she needed help. Finally when we were helped the lady doesn’t know of any reservations that we have and I show her the email. She reads all of it and then says “oh you paid 16 dollars for the rental, I’m sorry but I don’t have that car available” she then proceeded to tell us the only thing available was a manual car and she could honor the price. First of all the car should have been available since I made this reservation more than a two months in advance. Also a manual car is less expensive that an automatic one so that shouldn’t have been the same price. I tell her I can’t drive manual and then she says she couldn’t do anything for me then. She then goes on to go back and text on her phone while we are still on the counter. Our plans and trip were ruined since we did not have a car. Plus the money we had to pay for a taxi because there was no way for us to get to our hotel. Horrible customer service and horrible Experience, never again renting from hertz.Reviewed 26 Nov. 2018

Pros:I was grateful to be able to rent a car and in the end it worked out okay in spite of the risks/concerns about the rentalCons:They were only open after 8 PM (on Saturday) which was after we had to check-in. That meant we had to pay for parking until 8 PM ($8/hour) and leave it is a specific spot. Additionally, we were not there for the "inspection" to verify the condition of the card. On top of that, they charged us $15 for cleaning the car. Other factors were that, since we didn't pay for additional insurance, they placed a $4,500 hold on our credit card. The location is very hard to find if you don't arrive at the international terminal. In fact, you have to get escorted back to the counter.Reviewed 8 Jun. 2021

Beware of the compolsary insurance cost. Terrible companyPros:Guys giving and taking the car back where hostipable.Cons:No information before you book the car that if you opt out of their insurance (because you have your own in our case) they would need to take a US$10,000 hold on your credit card! What a Joke. To make it worse when you realise your going to have to more then double the cost of the rental cost because of this insurance so you do so and they still “charge” not “hold” US$1200 as insurance??? I would understand like other rental car companies that if you opt out of their insurance then a small hold is justified, but I’ve just been pushed into getting your Hertz insurance so why do you need to charge my card as insurance? I’ve ised hertz in Argentina and they just use the normal insurance policy... Obviously Hertz Peru don’t mind underhanded business tactics to make money on their insurance.Reviewed 24 Mar. 2018

Pros:The pickup staff were very slow in processing and a bit rude the rental, but the drop-off personnel were more efficient.Cons:More efficient and friendly staff for the car pickup.
