HorrIble customer serviceCons:I paid for my rental car in full March 17th I needed my car April 12th to the 16th showed up to get my car to find out they needed another $200 deposit which was fine I went to use my bank card they refuse to use my bank cards that I had they wanted a major credit card while the major credit card at used had already paid for the car it didn't have another $200 on it they refuse to use the cards that I had so it left me and my daughter stranded in Modesto and they told me it was my problem on how I was going to find a ride home with my daughterReviewed 17 Apr. 2018

Worst rental car company!Cons:I waited over an hour to get the car, although I prepaid for the rental in full they also wanted me to leave a $200 deposit for what I don't know because obviously $200 is not going to pay for the price of the car if I didn't return it. They would not accept a cash payment so I had to use my debit card in which they informed me that since I was using a debit card they would have to run a credit check on me. After all of the ridiculous hoops that I had to jump through for that I waited another hour to get the car when they brought the car it was damaged and they said it had a full tank of gas but it only had a half tank of gas in which the manager later on fix the paperwork for me. Then they told me that when I return the car they will not reimburse me for the days that I did not use on my reservation I have never ran into all these problems with any other rental car company and I will never use Hertz again.Reviewed 23 Feb. 2018

I will never book through Kayak againCons:Kayak allowed me to book a pick up time of 12 pm on a Saturday. Hertz closes at 12 on Saturday. I called Hertz at 15 minutes before 12 and told them I would be 1 or 2 minutes late. They told me they close promptly at 12. I walked in at 2 minutes after 12 and they refused to give me a car. I am awaiting my charge card to be credited for all but the $50 cancellation fee. It would have been $100 if the Hertz representative on the 800 number hadn't changed my reservation date. I blame myself for being a minute late but I also feel Kayak is culpable for allowing me to set a pick up time at Hertz's closing time.Reviewed 2 Apr. 2017

Pros:When I picked up the vehicle, the lady that helped me was polite, I got a 2019 Toyota Camry, very nice car, superb and comfortable ride but the vehicle was dirty, all the windows were stained with water spots and the inside smelled like cigarette smoke. When I left the rental place I started driving on the freeway towards San Diego and had been driving for less than an hour when the maintenance light came on advising me to take it to be serviced. When I returned the car with a full tank and clean, the girl said there were cigarette ashes in ash tray and accused me of smoking inside the car. I don't smoke neither does my wife and I told her that is the way they gave me the car. She finished with the paper work and gave me the papers and told me here you go and turned around. No thank you or anything else. Not very professional. Thank youCons:The vehicle was very nice, It could have been a little cleaner, the girl behind the counter had a little bad attitude, she tried to blame me for smoking in the car. Worst service ever!Pros:Nothing.Cons:I did not even pick up the car. I went to get it and the girls at the counter were so rude and told us there were no cars available. We had booked the night before and were under the impression we could pick the car up anytime after 9am. One of our children woke up sick and needed to be taken care of, so we didn’t show up to pick the car up until 10am. The two girls at the counter were so incredibly rude and would not even speak to us directly or help us. They then proceeded to talk about inappropriate things like smoking weed, after telling us we could take a seat and wait for a car with no indication of when one might come in. We switched to Avis/Budget, which turned out to be a nightmare as well but at least they were willing to get us in a car to get home.Reviewed 13 Nov. 2018

Pros:NOTHING!!! It was like a broken record, "We can't rent any more cars today." No one said they were sorry or made any attempt to help anyone find an alternative means of transportation.Cons:Someone could have helped me get a car. There had been an accident that knocked out the power. The ONLY WORDS anyone would say was, "We can't rent any more cars today." I asked how I was supposed to get to SFO for my flight, the reply was the same. I had less than 2hrs to make other arrangements.Reviewed 4 Sep. 2019

Pros:The manager, David, did try accommodate for how busy they were and that my car was not ready, despite being on time for my appointment.Cons:It took 45 minutes to get my rental. There were 10 people waiting and only 2 employees. They did not have a car ready for me. After waiting even longer, they were able to find me a car. The vehicle did not have a full tank. I returned it with a full tank, but was given no credit for it.Reviewed 14 Feb. 2019

Pros:Staff friendlinessCons:Arrived on time but they didn't have a car ready. asked me to wait two hours for the car I wanted (full size) Took an alternative (Nissan rogue) which was fine but they seemed to scrutinize every little scratch with pics which took additional time and made me feel like they were preparing to find damage when I returned it. Wanted to drop it off early but there isnt a key drop box. It just didn't feel very professional. With such little cars and all of the above mentioned I don't believe I will go there again.Reviewed 2 Apr. 2019
