They keep trying to sneak in the fuel charge. Their pick-up inspection says one thing, their final report says another, they're nickel and diming their customers, and it's fraud. Never again will I go with Hertz. I called at 11am, to make sure the car would be ready. No answer, I call Scottsdale, they said they will be ready but ton car has been dropped off yet. I call at 113”. No answer. I get to Scottsdale location. No car. It’s now Noon, the rental place is closed. No one is answering, Scottsdale airport starts calling around, no managers will answer. I call customer service. They start YELLING at me!! I was reassured by phone the Friday before my trip and the Saturday before I picked up my car it would be ready no problem. They told me because I wasn’t flying in to the airport on a personal liner, I wouldn’t be able to have a car. I told them it was ridiculous, it shouldn’t matter if I was flying in or driving up, I made these arrangements and spoke with someone who verified it wouldn’t matter and that a car would be there. I ended up calling 6x to customer service as the first 4 hung up on me and one lady told me I’d have to start calling around to other Herrz locations to see if any of them would be willing to help me and accommodate my rental. I called Mesa, Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale and Gilbert. NO ONE PICKED UP THE PHONE. I finally called customer service back and told them cancel everything and that I didn’t want to be charged for canceling as this was not my fault. She told me “I’m sorry to hear that. But it looks like your reservation was lost and they forgot your car. You’ve been cancelled, bye now” and ended the call. I was so upset I was shaking and crying. We had a very pleasurable experience renting from Hertz. Easy to book when we got to the airport the shuttle picked us up brought us to the rental. Got In-N-Out within 20 minutes. The car was very clean efficient on gas. I’m very happy we had rented a vehicle on our trip to have the freedom to explore Costa Rica the way we wanted to.Reviewed 21 Jan 2025

Somehow through Expedia, I booked a car 30 miles from the airport. I was charged $220 extra! I don’t know how it ended up that way, but I never would have set it up to take a taxi to my rental car!!!Reviewed 17 Jan 2025

I did not get my truck. The Kayak website allowed me to book a vehicle that was not available and I didn’t find out until I was at the counter. The attendant let me know that they did not have any trucks or vans anywhere in San Antonio this Weekend. That was extremely stressful and frustrating.Reviewed 17 Jan 2025
