With a 3 day rental + full insurance , the bill was $440. They held $1440 on my card. I returned the car on time (2 hours early) with no damage. I chose to pay the bill with cash. They said the $1440 hod would be removed . It was over a week ago and there the charge is still on that credit card. Please fix this.Reviewed 12 Feb 2026

There were hidden cost. The staff was not friendly and told me the insurance we paid with kayak was not the one that they required so I had to pay an extra insurance to be able to pick up the car. Then they said my drivers license was not easy to read so they made me wait longer (this didn’t happen to me the week before when I rented with other company using the same drivers license)Reviewed 10 Feb 2026

Rented online only to receive a call of no cars available - I had to cancel my own reservation as Hertz would not citing I made the reservation and it was easier for me to cancel it - I am still dealing with the 3rd party car insurance provider to completely cancel the auto policy provided and paid for via Kayak but separate from the car rental - what a waste of time!Reviewed 7 Feb 2026

We rented a car through Kayak and we were given a specific pickup location. We arrived by taxi at the pick up location and there was no business there. We went across the street and a business their helped us to figure out where we were to go. This was more difficult because none of your paperwork included a phone number to call. We were able to finally connect with Hertz and we were given a new pick up location. At that location, we were told that they had moved two weeks earlier, and had been contacting Hertz daily to try and get them to tell customers of the new pick up location. This cost us two taxis instead of one, and we wasted an hour of time and huge stress. All Hertz had to do was notify customers of the new pick up location. Very bad service. Otherwise, staff and the car and the drop off were all very good.Reviewed 5 Feb 2026

My issue was with the drop off. I hit a pole, caused a dent and reported it immediately. I have third party insurance purchased through kayak. Hertz immediately billed my credit card approximately eight thousand dollars for the repairs, However, they are not providing the itemized repair bill. Now the insurance is not paying and Hertz has stopped responding, and I still have a charge for 8 thousand!!!!Reviewed 4 Feb 2026
