Great customer service and ease of finding car after payment. Con’s included non-sanitize pads available in the car, car still had oily parts from previous renters and I was charged for fuel service even after declining service and refining car at full.

The dropoff in Brownsville was pitiful. The airport return lot wasn't properly marked. There is nobody there to explain how to check in. I ultimately went into the airport and found someone to confim dropoff.

I made a reservation to rent a car 2 days prior to arrival. I fly from Orlando to Houston, and take a 50 minute Uber ride to the Hertz location of my reservation. I am informed that they have no vehicles for me after already having paid for 72% of the rental. No other help was given while struggle to find another location with a vehicle. An employee had called me while I was on the plane and left a voicemail, so I was unaware of that there were no vehicles ahead of time. I was there an hour before I saw another vehicle show up and being cleaned. While no one spoke to me to offer any assistance, I asked someone if I could just use the vehicle that was being cleaned. They said they were in a good mood, so he would rent me the vehicle if I agreed to pay the upcharge (because I had reserved a compact car and this was a SUV). At that point, I should have had it for free. I was nearly stranded in south Houston, and overcharged because the original money I paid has not been refunded. The SUV also smelled like marijuana. The entire experience was a certifiable train wreck.

Drop off in early hours was easy. Staff were nice.

Cons:

Waited 45 minutes to pick up car despite reservation. After picking up car, the car was not in fully working shape (left front headlight not working, electronic back hatch on SUV not working, battery charge low).

It needs to be explained better on which cars need a major credit card and which ones can be rented with a debit card. I reserved a rental for a trip and when I went to pick it up they denied it because all I had was a debit card. So unfortunately I wasn't able to make my trip. I'm very disappointed in the service that I was given
