I made a reservation with Payless and was confirmed. I flew all the way to Curacao and we were excited to go sightseeing...until we went to get the car and they said they were all out. We spent thousands of dollars on a vacation and we were stuck in the hotel and walking around the area near it. How could this happen? Payless screwed us over, not good. I have called customer service but no one will respond or talk about why/how this happened.Reviewed 6 Apr. 2024

Pros:We had confirmation numbers and a rate preset before arriving in Curcao. When we got there they said there was no car reserved and no other car available..... We had to go down the rental row to Budget and got the last avialable car. Never trust Payless.Reviewed 23 Feb. 2019

Awful experiencePros:First car we we given was beat up, a lot of miles on it (90k) and felt like the transmission was about to drop out. We returned it the next morning only to get another filthy, worn out, high mileage, beat up Kia that had low tire pressure in all 4 tires.Reviewed 7 Apr. 2018

Pros:By the time we arrived, they only had manual/shift cars, which I certainly don't know how to operate. However, the lady was nice enough to give me a refund and assisted me in renting from Hertz. Great customer service.Reviewed 3 Apr. 2018

Pros:Payless was cheapest car rental on Curacao. Car was of course not new but okay and as expected. It did the job. Take over and return of car was smooth and quick.Cons:One front tire was totally run down, and rear tires were of different sizes.Reviewed 16 Mar. 2018

Pros:Reliable transportation for a reasonable price. No bells or whistles. Auto locks and power windows would have been nice.Reviewed 4 Mar. 2018

BS!Pros:NothingCons:The fact when we arrived they gave us a typed letter telling us they had no car for us AND the next time we rent from us they will give us 15% off. They didn't even try to give us any help with finding a different rental carrier. We felt like the whole set-up was a "bait and switch" scam.Reviewed 22 Feb. 2018

Cons:We had many problems with the car , it stalled a few times , it did not start we needed to get a jump start which is not current in Curacao and the brakes were very bad we had to cancel two activities and we lost two days because there was no other vehicle available for us . The other rentals was a bit better .Reviewed 18 Feb. 2018

Fair price for the carPros:Inexpensive, friendly staff and located right at the airport.Cons:Car had several minor dents and the interior was pretty soiled. It's an island rental, so some stains are likely par for the course, but this car would have benefited from a steam cleaning of the upholstery.Reviewed 12 Feb. 2018
