The car i rented was running on some old tires. Two front tires wire was coming off. I had to go to the tire shop to switch out the tire, put my trip on hold. I was suppouse to go skii that day but i couldnt. Very dissapointed.

The Thrifty office was well signposted but it was a vacant, unfurnished shopfront. It was only a local mall security guard who told us that actually Thrifty operates out of the Hertz office (the word Thrifty is not anywhere), and even that is a third party company again. As a result, we have had to deal with 5 different companies to get a hire car. I suggest Kayak does not do business with Thrifty Mexico until this is resolved.

It was horrible because we didn't got a car. We were 2 hours late (what we wrote them via email) and when we arrived they told us that the reservation is cancelled and the car is not available anymore. They tried to give is another car then which would cost us more then three times the price from the reservation. Absolute horrific situation and employees.

Pros:

Pleasant reception. David was very warm and keen to serve. The car was not ready and he wasn’t sure they had one but looked around and eventually got me a car. He called me two days later to find out if everything was okay. No issues getting a ride home when I returned the car.

Cons:

Lack of flexibility. I wanted to return the car a day earlier but was told the price would not change. I still struggle to understand why they couldn’t give a discount, no matter how small, for returning the car earlier.

I didn't find out until I arrived on Saturday that you closed at 4pm. And if I wasn't back by 4PM I had to pay quite a bit more. I wish I had known the time constraint in advance. If I bring the car back at 5 and drop off the keys, I don't understand why you would charge me an extra day.

we rented a car from Hertz through Kayak for 12 days from 11-Dec-2017 to 23-Dec-2017. We picked up the car on 11th at 12:50 PM from Richmond Hill (Gamble/Yonge) location and returned the car to the same location on 15-Dec-2017 at 12:10 PM because we did not need the car anymore. We got charged totally 312 CAD from which we prepaid 258.73 CAD online at the time of reservation and paid the rest in the Hertz branch at the time of pickup. We were told if we bring the car anytime earlier than Dec, 23rd, we will be charged for one extra day and the rest of the money will be refunded to us. When we returned the car, we asked for the refund but they told us they have not charged us and Kayak has charged us and referred us to Kayak and unfortunately when we called Kayak, we received a very poor and unrespectable service and they referred us back to Hertz (back and forth). I have shared this terrible experience with my family and friends and will not recommend renting a car with any car rental through Kayak.

Had a great experience. Checking in at the airport to collect our car was fast and seamless (plenty of cars were available to choose from) and there was no haggling or change in my rate. They tried to rip me off! didn't provide me with a damage for the existent damage and the employee said will provide it latter but I took pictures before I use the vehicle. Now they are saying the car never been damaged and I have to be charged for the old damages as according to their system the car never been damaged and the vehicle year is 2021! I disputed it and sent my proves but it is very poor management and it is stress and anxiety no needs for me to go through I put down a cheaper options to be with reputable company but National/Enterprise prove me wrong.

I never got a car. They said that if the reservation was made less than 24 hours before there were no cars available. Get it together.... don't set up your system to allow reservations if there are no cars available. It reminds me of airlines overbooking flights.

Payless has great customer service for the situation we were out in. The insurance prices are crazy but at the end of the day it wasn’t Payless fault. This is a country requirement that we did understand prior to booking. The pick up was easy and Luis was great!! Drop off was simple as well and super friendly. Car was cleaned when we picked up and that was appreciated.

The check-in process took forever. It was a large line and at the beginning the attendance. Chatting among each other, Delaying the process. Finally, a young man came in. And checked in as many people as the previous to attendance did together. I’ve been to this car rental before, and it brought a memory of the last time we experience the same thing. Very frustrating.

I prepaid for my car only to get to the counter and wait for just under an hour. Once assigned a car, I again waited because I was then told my car was double booked. I finally got a car, and it was a great car. However, after turning it in on time I was charged for 3 additional days because they had me down as driving a completely different car. Definitely will Pay More next time and rent from someone else.

Getting from baggage claim to Payless terminal had to stand in long lines to get on the bus. The customer service agent was very nice and friendly. We ended up getting an electric car, but never told us about what charging stations we could use being not familiar with that type of electric car and where the charging stations were a big problem wasted a lot of time during our driving experience, trying to find chargers that would work.

Payless always comes through, the pickup and dropoff process is fast and easy never any issue.. The payless cars are very updated and reliable, the price is always affordable and the deposit is always given back as soon as you drop it off, no extra charges or fees.. We had to call from the airport twice to get a pickup to the rental location which was 10 minute ride . Once there we found out that they did not recognize our insurance and I had to pay $260 for insurance . This now made my rental car more expensive than what was at the airports . Drop off went smooth , but we were dropped off at the rental location other than airport drop off for the airport .

Would never recommend ACE to anyone going to Las Vegas. Not only is the facility in the back of an unlit/unsafe area, the staff was completely unprofessional. When I asked why I need to pay $500 upfront for a $40 2 day reservation, no joke the guy looked at me and says, "in case you smoke in the car". I have NEVER paid a deposit on a rental car in Las Vegas or anywhere for that matter. The staff unfairly profiled me when I don't even smoke. Let it be know, I instantly walked out of there and paid Uber instead.

Staff were not friendly at pick up or drop off. Total advertised price was inaccurate. When providing our own insurance, service representatives were snippy as soon as they realized they would not make that extra $ off us, they kept threatening penalties, coverage gaps, and potential legal action even though proof of full insurance coverage was provided. We were provided with a vehicle from Nevada with summer tires and 2 wheel drive even after explaining we would be crossing the mountains. At drop off the receiving staff was angry and rude. ACE will not be getting our business again and should likely just advertise their true price so they can pay their staff more. I’ll gladly pay the extra (as advertised) cost for a properly equipped vehicle from a more reputable rental company. Do better ACE.

When I went to pickup my car, I had to wait ~1 hour to speak with someone at the desk. The agent I spoke to at the desk lied to me and said that I cannot use my personal auto insurance and had to use their plan. I call their corporate number later and the confirmed that agent was incorrect and refunded my money spent on the insurance. The car they had reserved for me was stuck behind several cars on the lot and inaccessible. Because of this they tried to give me another vehicle in the same class. The replacement they picked had visible damage/dent to the multiple panels, doors, and bumper. I started documenting all the damage in detail and taking pictures, the agent started getting visibly annoyed. He ended up providing me with a different car in the end. When I came time to drop off the vehicle, the lot nearly full and there was a line extending into the street just to enter the lot. I'm still waiting to deposit to be returned and I anticipating that I will need to call their corporate office again. This was an extremely poor experience through and through. I will never rent from Mexrentacar ever again, and I will never recommend their services to anyone.

Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.

I had to pay so much extra because apparently the insurance I had didn’t cover Expedia/economy car rental despite said insurance covering every other car rental agency. So either I was lied to or it’s just economy and I’m never going to rent from them/expedia again. I was also given a number to call travel guard which is not able to cover after the rental purchase was made. The car was also full of dog hair. In total this rental cost me 200$ instead of the 40 +30 I paid for the rental and insurance initially. Huge rip off. Took forever and is so inconvenient to get to without a car! Insane. Never again.

Took a long time to get the car. First of all, there shuttle only comes to remote rental car center near LAX. You need to take a bus to get there. Then you take there shuttle to get to their office. It took me almost an hour to get the get and be on my way. There were two agents working the desk and they were really helpful but, the whole process was slow. I had to wait a long time.

I had to pay an extra $40+ for insurance despite informing them saying that the insurance is covered through my Amex Cobalt. I had no other alternative as I was in a rush.

After my experience with this company I understand why they have a low score, initially I let myself be carried away because they offered me a very low price, but when I pick up the car the cost was going to be higher than the other companies with better score, so I decided to go and rent with another company, I do not recommend ECONOMY RENT A CAR for anything, very bad service and unethical

Total rip off like priceline who mentioned Unlimited kms on the invoice and then refused to refund me. They started showing me terms and policies when the Invoice clearly shows Unlimited kms. Spolied my trip. Lost my money and had to book another place. Waste of time. Terrible experience.

If you do not arrive within 1-2 hours of your reservation time, they give your car away and don't have backups for you! EVERYONE in that arrived on my shuttle were in the same boat; they didn't have any of our vehicles; they were simply telling everyone that their reservation is cancelled, we'll receive our money back (eventually), and we just need to go elsewhere to find a car last minute, at night. IT WAS A DISASTER! Thank God one of the guys working there took pity on my group since I had my 80 year old parents with me, and managed to find another vehicle for us. It was smaller than what we rented, but at least it was a vehicle. I'm thankful to the employee who bent over backwards to find us a vehicle, but York's policy of re-renting everyone's cars if they are not there within 1-2 hours is CRAZY! Everyone else got screwed. It was an awful experience. Oh, it it took HOURS for all of that to get settled. 0/5 stars.

This company is a scam. They wanted to add on so much money to the rental. The deposit was $500 and they have 30 days they will hold it. I wish i never rented from them.

Found an old water bottle in the car so wasn’t cleaned very thoroughly but it’s a new car so wasn’t visibly dirty. Pick up and drop off was super easy, no hidden fees, accepted that I had insurance through my credit card and didn’t try and sell me any. Staff was kind.

Everything went smoothly. Would like to have been able to change to an awd on the day but it was not available. Not their problem and turned out the 2wd suv was fine in snow anyway. Friendly guys at pick up and drop off and very fast service.

They refused to honor my reservation and claimed they had no cars but could make a special opportunity for me at $175 a day. As it was late at night I had to take their high price offer for one day but got them down $106 a day. We switched to Economy Rent-A-Car the next day at $84 for 4 days. Steer clear of Advantage. They are scammers and liars

Gasing up the car on return was not properly explained . Was charged for fuel twice , I filled up the car fully on return and was still charged for fuel on the final bill . I will be requesting a credit on that .

It was the worst possible experience! The agent, who had no name tag, was very rude and unprofessional. He told me that since I was renting for just one day, I should have gone to Budget or Enterprise. He charged my account twice. He treated my husband and me as if we were trying to steal something. He said that I needed to show proof of residency, so I did, but it had my husband’s name on it. Therefore, I had to add my husband to the reservation, and then he charged me twice the amount that was agreed upon for adding my husband. The entire time, he kept saying, “it would be easier if I canceled your reservation and let you go.” And I left the store without the car!

2 day rental at a very low rate ($48). Expected to be taxed like crazy and pressured for upcharges, but this was a whole new level. Website not working or helpful in preparing an easy counter experience. App useless. At the counter, was told my NY/NJ EZ Pass I brought is useless unless I want to be double-charged. And, “FL no longer accepts cash at tolls, so renting the plate pass for $11/day, unlimited tolls, is cheaper than the fines if you end up on a toll road.” I could have navigated around all tolls on the trip, and there are clearly cash lanes at each toll booth. Plus, I pre-purchased Allianz rental insurance directly to avoid their overpriced option, but was told I could not rent the car without purchasing (at least) their liability option ($20/day). He said I was lucky b/c that is MUCH less than the $59/day full coverage. All in, my 2 day $48 car rental ended up at $128!! Still much less than the Big 3 but nearly 3x what I reserved. Finally, I don’t fully blame Advantage: CLEARLY the State of FL and the county are in on the visitor fleecing.

Words cannot express the sheer level of disappointment and frustration I experienced while dealing with "Right Cars" Car Rental. This company is a prime example of how NOT to conduct business, and I strongly urge anyone considering renting from them to think twice and avoid this nightmare at all costs. Let me start by saying that "Right Cars" has absolutely no regard for their customers' well-being or financial security. When I arrived at their rental office, ready to pick up my supposedly affordable 50 euros car, I was greeted with an outrageous demand: a whopping 650 euros as a deposit. Are they out of their minds? It's beyond comprehension how they can justify such an exorbitant amount for a car that is worth a fraction of that deposit. As if their greed wasn't enough, "Right Cars" shamelessly refused to refund or provide any reasonable alternatives. Instead, they presented me with an ultimatum: pay an additional 80 euros for insurance or fork over a mind-boggling 500 euros as a deposit for a vehicle that should be barely worth the initial rental cost. This level of exploitation and disregard for customer satisfaction is simply disgraceful. It's clear that "Right Cars" Car Rental thrives on taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. Their outrageous deposit requirements and unwillingness to accommodate reasonable requests are not only unethical but also bordering on fraudulent practices. I cannot stress enough how important it is to steer clear of this company if you value your hard-earned money and want to avoid unnecessary stress and disappointment. In conclusion, "Right Cars" Car Rental is an absolute disaster of a company. They epitomize everything that is wrong with the car rental industry. Save yourself the headache, frustration, and financial burden by choosing a reputable car rental company that actually values its customers. "Right Cars" is simply not worth the time, money, or peace of mind you'll undoubtedly lose by dealing with them.

The pick up hour should be an interval, our flight delayed and the man from car rental didn’t wait for us. It was necessary to arrange a paid transfer to the hotel. Also the phone number mentioned in the voucher didn’t work and nobody answer. I was helped by customer service from my hotel to manage to be in touch with somebody from The car rentals. The experience was awful.

I arrived at the airport at 7:30pm and called for a shuttle. I called twice with no answer. I took a taxi out an couldn't find the location. I finally got through and the person on the phone said they closed at 5. On my printed out paper, it says pick up till 9pm. I had to make a last minute booking with another company at the airport and paid a 65$ taxi fee for the back and forth. The money I would have saved was not worth this head ache. I am super disappointed the pick up times weren't clearly indicated and I would have arranged myself accordingly. I think kayak should make a better effort in providing better, reliable companies considering their name is associated with them.

Cons:

Waited 45 minutes at the airport for the shuttle. Called ACO several times but no answer. Car engine light came on and the ACO call centre was unable to help me, it being a Sunday. I sent a photo and an email of my concern but received no reply. No windshield washer fluid.

The customer service person had no explanation and offered no help other then to go back online and try again. When I did this I was told there were no cars available. So there I was stuck last minute at the airport getting another car at twice the cost. Never again Kayak

Shuttle from airport doesn’t arrive. I called multiple times. No answer, no response to voicemail. Took taxi instead. Hard to find location which is in the middle of nowhere, barely lit and marked Tuff instead of ACO. Got to counter at 7:02 and was told they close at 7 so wouldn’t help me. Also if you are an hour late your entire contract is canceled anyway. So they would not have helped me regardless due to the shuttle bus issue. I was stranded with my toddler and no car. Staff would not even call me a taxi. Thank goodness Lyft was nearby. Terrible staff, terrible service, terrible operation. I wasted $50+ in cab fare thanks to ACO. BEWARE.
