Pros: I stayed at Villa Soro for 4 nights. The main building is elegant with a very warm atmosphere. I had a corner room on the first floor of the newer building which had it owns semi-private outdoor space. Both were nice. The bedroom and bathroom were of good size and quite utilitarian. The newer house has no street noise, though the area is sufficiently quiet that I would be surprised if the original house is affected by traffic noise. The staff is very polite and helpful.
I chose to stay at the Villa as I thought I might find interesting people with whom to talk. Breakfast seemed like an obvious time but the bar is actually pretty lively at night. My wish was fulfilled. Members of The Morgan Motor Club were there with their glorious convertibles (British racing green, of course) and there were 2 architects from Stockholm on their way to Bilbao.

Cons: My bathroom was not adequately cleaned. I suppose this was due to the maid believing that Americans only take showers. However, there were enough clues that I take baths. The tub wasn't cleaned (or not to my standards) and neither q-tips nor hand soap were replaced in a timely matter..
I found there was too much noise transmitted from the room or rooms above which may have been just the luck of the draw in whose overhead.
Note that this really is a residential area and you will have a good 30 minute walk to the bus station or even most restaurants.

Cons: We had paid for a room with a balcony but due to construction work going on outside we were not able to use it. I appreciate that it wasn’t work being carried out by the hotel but they must have been made aware it was happening well in advance (it was the construction of a new subway so not insignificant). Not only was it not mentioned when we checked in but we were not even given the chance to upgrade. Not only that I had received an email from them a few days earlier asking if I needed anything and had replied asking them about an upgrade to a sea view and they had not even bothered to respond. For a little over 1000 euros for 3 days I expected better!

No US plug. So if you bring a shaver, you are in trouble.
The hotel directory in the room was not coherent. It was written the gym was openned untill 10pm and when you arrive their, it was open only untill 9 pm.
The room door didn’t close totally so I had to make sure it would close behind me.
In order to access to the wifi, I had to proceed to certain pages that the receptionist didn’t give at check-in.
NO COMPLIMENTARY WATER.
I’ve been to many other places with better amenities and at least a welcoming water.

Cons: The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We were woken early both mornings by the bin men emptying bins outside. The shower of the next door room was very noisy in our room (Michael Caine) and impossible to sleep through. The food in the main restaurant was poor. We were unable to put drinks bought at the cocktail bar on to our bill and the Nespresso martini was average.

Pros: The location is great, staff is friendly, the patio has good drink and breakfast options. The lockers in the rooms are secure. They also have rooms where you could relax, work or study which is a huge plus for me.
Cons: The room had no AC and no fan, it definitely wasn't worth the cost per night. The rooftop doesn't have much of a view which is probably why it so empty (and there's no place up there to get food or drinks).

Pros: The location was about the only good thing this hostel had to offer. The bar attached to the hostel was also good but it closed early every night so that was not great.
Cons: I booked the shared room that had the beds with curtains for privacy because that's what was shown on the example picture on the booking page. However, when my friend and I got there, we were told that our room was not one of the nice ones even though thats what was shown to us originally. Very misleading. When my friend and I arrived, there were no blankets on our bed and there was only one plug available for the two of us to share. I asked for a power strip and they did not want to give me one and the staff wasn't helpful at all with solving these issues. Our key also stopped working half way through our stay and the lady at the front desk was very rude when we asked for our key to be fixed. The service overall was very bad. My friend and I also stood at the front desk to check in and we ended up waiting for about 20 minutes while the workers were just chatting with each other. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone, it was a big let down.

Cons: It is a hostel so accommodation was tight but that was expected. Addition of more hooks and storage would be helpful. There were drawers under the beds but only one out of 4 opened. With a family of 4 with bathing suits/towels and showering there were not enough hooks or storage under the bathroom sink for toiletries. A few simple updates could help with this and make it more comfortable. The outdoor relax space didn't allow you to bring food or drink and that was advertised on booking.com. That would have allowed for some time away from the room

The location is okay for walking to the beach but a bit off the city center and everything San Sebastián has to offer. Not the best place for (solo) backpackers as there are also families and group travelers - not a great community spirit. Facilities were okay but not too well maintained. I expected more for the high price I paid.

Cons: Road noise and noise pass through walls from other rooms. Dated rooms. Poor and noisy A/C. Next to a construction site. Extremely overpriced for what is being offered by the hotel. There is no link between pictures on website and reality. Any rate over €70 per night should be considered as an over value rate for this hotel. I travel regularly to San Sebastián for work every the other week, and this hotel was by far the worst place I stayed in San Sebastián. When you travel to San Sebastián plan your stay well in advance so do not end up to stay in this hotel.

Pros: From the moment of our arrival to leaving staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was great: beautiful, with all amenities needed, good bed and pillows and great shower. Breakfast was good value with a wide range of food and as much coffee etc as you wanted. The restaurant and bar are excellent: both value for money, being cheaper than many of the bars and restaurants in town, and the quality. The menu in the evenings had a good selection and each thing we ordered was delicious and cooked to a high standard. Again the restaurant staff couldn’t have been more delightful. The hotel policy of inclusion is excellent and the staff mentoring for vulnerable staff appeared to be excellent and have excellent results. The jacuzzi on the rooftop was great and we wish we had had more time to use it as there were plenty of sunbeds and chairs to catch the sun. Towels and water are included there for free.

Cons: The only thing which could have been improved were the lifts. Parking In the basement meant that we went down to the car daily several times and each time the lift always stopped on the ground floor for no reason.

Arriving to San Sebastian by bus, I found the hotel about a 15 bus ride from center city. The hotel has a great location for beach access but its not a hotel if your plans include walking to and from city center or old town. Directly across the street are convenient bus stops that you can utilize. I did walk from old town, on one occasion, as I left San Sebastian's annual Jazz Fest and as a fast walker, it still took me about 35 minutes. I stayed in room 106 and found the room to have average accommodations. The beds were not the most comfortable but I was only there for one night. Decor was a un-updated brown and older carpeted interior that showed some age but was clean. The air conditioner never really got the room cooled to my liking and I kept the black out curtain closed the entire stay. The room never was hot, but definitely wasn't cool. I chose not to comment to the front desk as the region was experiencing very warm weather, in addition, my visit was in mid July. Staff was pleasant and made for a quick room check in. I visited the bar area the next day for espresso and toast. I believe there may have been a breakfast buffet that was moved to a different location as one of their dining areas was under renovation but signage wasn't as stand out as it should. My overall stay was nice for 1 night and new to the area but the hotel would benefit with a few more modern finishes and updated decor in the rooms.

I believe there may have been a breakfast buffet that was moved to a different location as one of their dining areas was under renovation but signage wasn't as stand out as it should. My overall stay was nice for 1 night and new to the area but the hotel would benefit with a few more modern finishes and updated decor in the rooms.

Pros: Beds very comfortable. Breakfast very good - lots of choice of fruits, breads, croissants etc but the hot food wasn't so good. The fried eggs looked as if they'd been there quite a long time and the rest of the foods such as bacon, tomatoes, sausages etc were kept in enamel pots on the hot plate but sadly the food didn't stay hot and by the time you weren't eating it, I'm afraid it was cold though it was tasty. However, the staff were excellent and polite. The location was excellent - a 5 minute walk took you straight to the promenade & beach and it was only about 10-15 minutes to get into the old town. Many cafes & restaurants close by.

Cons: The room was a terrible value. I paid $350/night for a premium room, and it was not worth it. Perhaps it's because there is a paucity of hotel rooms compared to the demand for them. I overpaid terribly, and that cast a terrible pall on my entire stay. Also, there was a funny/musty smell in that room.

Cons: Everything... i wanted to cancel my husband has astma and got really sick afther and they did not accept. Its a nasty hotel, with ( SCHIMMEL ) horrible experience. It was the most teribble place i have ever been for 127 euro's.. there are much more better hotels in the neighbourhood for that price. Stay away. Very bad smelt, horrible shower, you have to pay for a towel!! Very far in a mountain with small route to go there really dangerous.

Cons: Kitchen wasn't clean and seemed to always have dishes in the sink and pots and pans all across the surface. Made you not want to cook there. There was also no kettle. The living room is completely white in style with metallic surfaces, no thoughtful touches added to the living room/kitchen.
