Top tips for renting a car at Saskatoon airport
One of the reasons that so many people choose to utilize car rental at Saskatoon Airport (YXE) is that this offers passengers a convenient way to travel from the airport to the city. Although there are public transportation options to make this trip, they take far longer than driving a car. While travelers can also take a taxi from the airport, if there is any need to travel extensively during a trip to Saskatoon, always taking taxis can become a quite expensive endeavor.
A very nice feature of choosing to do car rental at Saskatoon Airport is that the airport offers around six different on-airport agencies, all of which have customer service counters right inside the terminal building adjacent to the baggage claim area. All of the vehicles available for rent sit right outside of the terminal building, meaning there is never a need to ride on a shuttle bus to get to your rental vehicle.
A great thing about car rental at Saskatoon Airport is that the process for returning your car is quite easy. When you make your way back to the airport, head to the same location where you picked up your rental car and park the car in one of the dedicated spots for your rental company. Once you lock your car and take a look around to make sure there is no damage, you can simply head inside to the customer service counter and return your contract and your keys to a rental agent or drop it in one of the provided drop boxes.
Some of the times when you might find some difficulty picking up your rental car would be during stormy weather during the winter time when all modes of travel can slow down. It can also be the case that when several flights land at the same time at this smaller airport, there may be lines at customer service desks when trying to pick up a rental car.

Friendly staff, nice vehicle, easy drop off. Didn’t like the surprise of a new 13$ per day additional fee for an extra driver which adds up on an 8 day rental. Book with Costco to avoid this fee.

Incredible customer service. Super friendly staff. Only caveat - I think a previous renter had smoked in the car.

I requested the manager's special, which turned out to be a Tesla. I've never driven a Tesla so was interested, but uncertain about where to find a charger in town. Went out to the car and the door wouldn't open, so that took care of that. The trouble was walking back and forth through 6" of slush to the lot and back, then back to the car to see if they could open the door, then back to the desk, then back to another car. Not Dollar's fault, really, but pretty inconvenient. Otherwise, Sask airport rental parking is pretty simple as far as pickup and dropoff.

It was an incredibly long lineup at the airport as Enterprise was looking after Alamo customers. Alamo counter was closed mid-day. There was not enough rental cars available. The van I received had a large crack and 2 major dings on the windshield. The price that I was going to be charged was $400 more than my reservation which Enterprise fixed and said that it was an issue with Kayak.
