The breakfast was good, the location excellent The desk was extremely helpful and accommodating
The room was old-fashioned, and the hallway was kind of run down
Breakfast was very generuous, varied, and not pre-packaged: a real person made the baked goods rather than industrial packaged goods.
The shower curtain was TOO SHORT and therefore the water went every where; will likely leak down to the next floor the next time someone showers who does not get on the floor to soak it ALL up with towels.
The sweet part of the breakfast was nice. The location was perfect, just 5 minutes from the piazza del campo. The stuff was very helpful and nice as well.
The room was not really isolated, you could hear everything from the street. The room was a little small so there was few space to pass; and no shelves to put clothes (only to hang them).
Great location. Far from the train station but right at the centre of old town. Staff were very helpful.
The entrance to a bar was right outside the window so there was constantly a loud crowd outside until 4 am. Small rooms and cold (but heat on until November I was told).
The breakfast there was very good. There was a tv in the room and it worked.
The location was so close to the main piazza that there was a lot of street noise. Beyond that, the window of our room faced the door next to the entrance to the hotel. It said Pub, but was closed all day. It opened after dark and stayed open til at least 3 am. There were DOZENS of people milling about with drinks in hand right under our window. They took up the whole narrow street corner to corner. The noise was unbelievable. PEople were talking loudly, laughing, shouting, generally having a party. The noise cranked up about 11:30 pm. A "parade" seemed to go by about 11:30 with drums and many male voices singing-- as if their team just won a soccer championship. I don't actually know the reason. There were sirens and bell towers chiming in on the hour. The party outside our window went on past 3am. Even when the pub closed people continued to mill around, most likely drunk, for another hour. It began to get quiet around 4am. Then 3 young men who worked at the pub ( they were standing in the doorway which had been closed a bit earlier) stood and talked til about 5 am. Then it was quiet and I was able to sleep from 5 until 7am. At 7 the streets woke up, men collected garbage and people were going to work. I will NEVER stay there again, in fact one trip to Siena was enough. We've been all around Italy on differnt trips that total about 3 months and I speak Italian-- this was the worst night I've ever spent in Italy. The bed was okay, a bit firm for me. The room was adequate. The towels were like dish towels so we didn't even shower. We just wanted to get out of there.
