Cons: Other guests making a lot of noise, resulting in poor sleep until 3am. Can’t hold the hotel accountable for other people’s selfish behaviour tho.

Cons: Upstairs resturant - The seating that is like a booth from an american diner, not too my taste, makes it appear like clutter and not as open as other parts of area The horrid football game, would prefer that would be located in the area for smokers not in a lounge /dinner area DJ was not attracting anyone to dance Paid for drinks and the barman forgot to serve our drinsk and had to remind him of my order placed and the place was not packed Did not have standard cognac or brandy Downstairs restaurant - Nice vibe, however a piano player or soft music would be ideal to create a sense of romance as it is for fine dining after all Some female servers /waitress were not as friendly and lacked eye contact One waitress served a coffee and delivered it with a back turned fast, lacked personal contact expected from a 5 star hotel
6.3 Good
Pros: Lovely property, facilities, and great location. However, 5 stars clearly wasn’t given based on the attitude and attention of the staff.
Cons: Some of the staff in the rooftop bar (Harbar 6 )were extremely unhelpful.

Pros: Bar with dj in the evening was great!! food was lovely and great selection of cocktails. Bed very comfortable and huge! All very clean and smart The free gin and sherry in the room was a lovely touch (although I don't drink either) Mini bar was well stocked
Cons: No mirrors in the room, one in the bathroom but not any use for doing hair, make up or getting dressed. Ordered breakfast, didn't get what I ordered but it was still lovely. Wasn't made clear where we could or couldn't park even though I asked at reception and ended up getting a parking ticket. There us a bath in the room but no taps to fill it so you need to use the shower to fill it if you want a bath (takes ages)

Pros: Staff all lovely Especially Byron Beds super comfy
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and views are very nice.
Cons: Breakfast is overpriced, it shouldn't be £10 pp for a table and a very sparse continental breakfast. I Have been to hotels that are not as prestigious as this venue and had a much better breakfast.

Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Closing of bar during day and early evening. Would have been nice to have come back after theatre and relax with a drink or two in bar before bed. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Pros: I liked the decor And the staff were very friendly. The TV was a nice touch And the temperature dial was a bit different and I liked it.
Cons: The bed sheets were confusing. Wasn't a proper Duvet. The toilet struggled to flush. There was no milk with the tea. The kettle smelt like vinegar inside. Would have expected some kind of vanity table for the deluxe room. A bulb in the big light kept flashing and I had to remove it in the end due to annoyance.

4.0 Okay
Pros: The location, the rooms and most of the staff were excellent. Our party had a wheelchair user. Emily at the reception and Kasia in the restaurant were very pleasant accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately we had a bad experience with the Duty Manager
Cons: There is a £10 charge for overnight parking. Usually hotels waive this charge for disabled badge holders. This hotel does not waive that charge. When I requested whether the charge could be waived, the duty Manager Mr. Latif aggressively retorted that the charge was applicable and it was not free for disabled badge holders. I was not disappointed about paying but the manner in which was stated was not nice. There is also a swimming pool in the hotel. Wheelchair users can go to the pool only through a circuitous narrow path through the cloak room. It was difficult to navigate the wheelchair to the pool.

Cons: Breakfast was very good with the exception of the scrambled eggs, which very clearly were not made from real eggs (like is the case in most hotels nowadays), but what was off-putting was that it was all floating in a puddle of water... The hotel is showing signs of wear and tear everywhere now. Of particular concern to me were the signs of that being the case in my room's bathroom; broken tiles, blobs of caulking, caulking showings signs of mould, etc. Also filling up the bath takes quite some time...

Pros: Quiet room, comfortable Bed, the glass of sauvignon blank with the evening meal
Cons: Coffee at breakfast could pack more punch. My partner has kidney disease and can’t have many things (foods high in phosphate) so she was disappointed that the apple crumble contained raisins/sultanas -it didn’t say so on the menu.

Pros: Good value and location. Overall an enjoyable stay. We upgraded to executive room. We had a fab view see photo

Pros: The lady who runs the B&B is very friendly, happy to help and it was beautifully clean & well kept
Cons: My booking at The Mayview was changed to their other B&B with no notice, had to share the toilet with others on my floor. It was more like a hostel, people coming and going (noisily) at all hours as apparently they worked strange hours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place it was nice and clean.
Cons: Nothing to say.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The place was very clean.
Cons: I think the room I used is not fit to be a bedroom. I am 5ft 3 but I could not stand in half of the room. The roof is so low that I had to bend all the time. Thanks God I am not a 6 footer, it could have been worse. I could hardly sleep as the roof was less than 2 feet from my face. I know it is how the building is. But my question is "should the room be used as one of the bedrooms or just a storeroom" What annoys me is that on the booking.com app they showed a different room. I would have gone elsewhere if I had known I would use such a room. I realised some of the money I paid was refunded. Let me put it plainly, even if the room was £10 a night, I would not have chosen it. It was very uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was beyond my expectations, a great start for any day!
Cons:

Pros: Value, cleanliness, excellent breakfast, welcoming staff. Proximity to all amenities.
Cons: Curtains could do with upgrading. Shame about scruffy properties either side of Mayview.

Pros: It is very close to the West Quay Shopping Centre also a good selection of coffee bars
Cons: The property is very dated, in need of a more up to date lift, it’s like a rabbit warren when finding your room as there are lots of small corridors and steps leading to rooms, in need of a thorough clean and maintenance. I was put on the third floor where you could hear everyone walking past due to the floor boards creaking also hear people go to the bathroom not good in my opinion. The kettle had to be placed on the floor to be plugged in to boil the water for your tea/coffee there was one mirror in the room which was near the doorway with no visible socket to plug in hair dryer; had to get down on my hands and knees to use socket which is used for bedside table. Wouldn’t recommend or stay there ever again. The Star Hotel if that what the owners want to call it is no more than a hostel it is no where near a three star hotel.

Cons: Shabby room. 2 different colour of wallpaper. Noise level was unbelieavable. Manager said he couldn’t hear delivery van pulling heavy boxes over cobbled stones. That I doubt as it was ear piercing from 10.30 pm for over an hour. Not acceptable. Would never stay again.

Pros: The bed was super comfortable.
Cons: Squeaky floor boards that become annoying when other residents keep walking past your room.

Pros: Fantastic location in the heart of the city, but the hotel in itself was not the best. The first room we were given had a broken window that did not close. The staff were helpful and gave us a different room within minutes which was nice.
Cons: The building is quite old and hasn't been renovated in many years. It has it's own character because of this but a bit of modernisation would be of help. Not the most luxurious type of place to stay, but fairly pleasant.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Not much
Cons: The room was very small when I made the original booking I was told breakfast was included when I got to eat breakfast I had to pay £8.99 for a cold unappetising meal. Would not stay there again

Pros: Great breakfast. Hotel very convenient for shopping and for Mayflower Theatre about 15 minutes walk away. Wifi free and good. Parking convenient but incurs an extra charge. But beware this is an old coaching inn so expect the unexpected. Close to old town so nice walks locally.
Cons: My first room was distinctly odd so as they were not full I asked to be moved for my last night. You do not expect too much of a single but it was very comfortable except that the shower and WC were in one cubicle so if you showered you could not use the WC as floor was too wet. Fortunately there were shower and WC facilities two doors away.

➕ Very pleasant clean and friendly hotel/restaurant. Food was great (too big portions in my view) menu was excellent choices and excellent prices, room 1 was exactly what we were looking for , room clean, beds very comfy,, shower hot, very accommodating and a kid friendly atmosphere, made to feel welcome even with my child. Thank you for a pleasant stay :).

Pros: On a plus side the food was nice and pub was homely. The staff was lovely. It was clean and tidy
Cons: The window was broken so was unable to close the window. It was freezing in there and duvets was very thin. Our room was changed at the last minute. We ended up with 3 single beds. The room was small. My husband left at 7am to go home due to lack of sleep because it was so cold and he had to sleep in single bed
7.0 Good
Pros: Comfy bed and good bathroom. Quiet, great location to get into the town centre.
Cons: Building smells of cigarette smoke, even in our room.

Cons: ➖ Nothing I didn’t like just wanted to point out though (not a negative) window latch needs looking at (doesn’t shut all way on left hand side).

Pros: Very nice room comfortable
Cons:
6.7 Good
Pros: Clean room, bathroom & shower. Off-street parking, if you're early.
Cons: Small TV. No chairs to sit on. No shelves in bathroom. TV remote control needs replacing - volume down button doesn't work, leaving volume very high which could disturb other guests. You should explain on the website that there are shared cooking facilities (a good thing) available on the ground floor. Twice on the website it is stated to request an off-road parking space but when requested we're told that these don't exist and parking is available on a first-come basis which is fair enough.
