I arrived at around 2:00 pm. My reservation was canceled because I was mor than 2 hours late. I didn’t know that they cancel all reservations more than 2 hours late. Had to pay $350 extra to rent the SUV or not renting at all. I’ve never heard of any rule like that, but the manager kept treating me like she was making me a huge favor. Horrible experience. Downgraded my vehicle to smaller than advertised car originally reservered. They also left me waiting for my reservation upon arrival. Thrifty has no sign in the Vail airport itself but only at remote building outside the airport location. They also make you sign off on paperwork that car is in perfect condition before even allowing renter to inspect the vehicle. Never again.Reviewed 27 Dec. 2021

Would not honor Kayak pricing!!Pros:Beware! Watch out for deceptive pricing!! Made an online reservation with Kayak for a certain price - even had a confirmation- however, a confirmation email from Thrifty showed a higher price. When I contacted Thrifty in Gypsum, they would not honor the Kayak pricing. Good thing I carefully read the Thrifty email or I would have been stuck at the airport with the higher price. Good enoughPros:The car worked and get us where we were going throughout the trip. The price was great.Cons:After checking in, I went to the car and discovered the low tire pressure light was on. When I went back in to the counter, the young woman had already left to go home! An airline employee called her, she returned and today me not to worry... she had checked the tire pressure that morning. As it turned out, the tires were fine, but the light stayed on and there was no way to reset it (the button it showed in the owner's manual was non-existent, and the employee had no idea how to help...). I am glad the tire never went flat, but it was a worry to have that list on constantly (this is from past experience with my personal car, which means ^this is serious^ in my personal vehicle!!!!Reviewed 19 Oct. 2016
