Barceló Maya Caribe - Xpu Há - Bedroom
1
9.6 Excellent (7,133 reviews)
C$ 375+
Overview Reviews
The Barceló Maya Caribe hotel is a gift to your senses. Located in the heart of the Riviera Maya, it has the scent of the Caribbean, the softness of its fine white sands, and a view of a beach of endless beauty.
6.7 Good
Cons: too much noise in the rooms near the bar.
7.5 Good
Pros: The facilities were great. There are many entertainment and dining options available. Strikers Sports Bar was a lot of fun.
Cons: The service at times wasn't the best. We payed for a Premium Level room, but it didn't feel like a Premium treatment. Response times from staff are long. Besides not having to pay for room service delivery there's really nothing special about the premium level (except the room). You can hear everything going on outside the rooms, even at 3 AM. The room doors slam very easily if one's not careful and can be heard even from different floors. Not sure if I would stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent. The buffet was good and the a la cartes were fabulous
Cons: We weren’t impressed with the shows in the theater. We were there 4 years ago, and the entertainment was much better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beginning with checking in, everyone was so polite and helpful. The buffet's we tried were delicious and the steakhouse we ate at one night was the best! Our room was amazing. We didn't try the pools but spent most our time lounging at the beach.
Cons: We liked everything about the trip.
6.7 Good
Cons: The room didn't have any shelves/ drawers where to put the clothing. You only have hanging space. The fact that they show available watersports is not accurate. There is not enough equipement for the amount of rooms they have. There are actually 5 Barcelo hotels sharing that equipment. You have to stay on line at before the store opens in order to make a reservation. We could not use any of them in the 6 days stay. We were told that the hotel was ordering more... but that is what they always say.
7.7 Good
Pros: Average room. Below average bathroom.
Cons: More servers on the beach would be great. Also room service menu could use some improvement.ee
5.0 Okay
Pros: When we checked in it took 1.5 hours to fix their mistakes. And they did not take payment so the next day they kocked us out of our room
Cons: Had to make reservations for most resteraunts even though they were half empty. Even whrn we made a reservation we were told they did not have one and could not seet us even though there were over 100 empty seats..... food was mediocre. Humidity so high, interior of jotels are slick w sweat. They have to come squiggy floors every morning so rooms are musty. They do not clean their beaches. Tons of stinky seaweed everywhere during our stay
6.3 Good
Pros: The rooms were dated and there was musky smell that wouldn't go away. Staff will always say Yes to anything you ask but nothing gets done.
Cons: Rooms were dated . Bathroom was average
Barceló Maya Palace - Xpu Há - Bedroom

9.5 Excellent (7,741 reviews)
C$ 487+
Overview Reviews
Located on one of the most impressive beaches of the Caribbean and surrounded by the legendary beauty of the Riviera Maya, the Barceló Maya Palace 5-star hotel is a spectacular luxury resort with exclusive services.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Somewhat remote. Expensive to take any day trips
6.5 Good
Pros: The food was pretty good. The staff were nice.
Cons: The inability to get reservations at a reasonable time, especially when your friends would tell you there were many empty tables.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service was extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: Dinner venues were not authentic, specially the Argentine and Brazilian restaurants
6.3 Good
Pros: Plenty to do if you like to stay busy on holiday. Service in the sports bar (only) was excellent.
Cons: Our check in experience at the “premier level” was shocking. Probably the worst customer service we’ve had in many years. Breakfast was cold every single morning. The only warm food that was available was directly from the cooking stations. Toilets near bars were very, very dirty. To the point I had to walk out of several of them (and I’m not easily grossed out!) Service at the bars was very average. Extremely disappointing considering the amount of money we paid for 8 days. Sadly, we would not go back.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Facilities and the beach was super nice.
Cons: Room was smelling moisture.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Friendliness of Staff - Quality of Food at the buffets - Excellent snorkeling and swimming with turtles
Cons: - A la carte restaurants - Spring breakers - way too many loud and obnoxious spring breakers here - avoid March and April!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were very impressed with the cleanliness, food options, beach and pools. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt very safe at the resort. This was our 2nd visit and we will be returning.
Cons: We prescheduled and prepaid 4 snorkeling excursions with Dressel Divers which are listed on Barcelo's website. We went on 2 trips, both taking us off location by bus and took way too long for travel (11 hours for only 3 hours of water time with a guide who could have cared less about us) and the sites were not impressive. We were very sorry that we did not know to access higher quality trips with Barcelo's Guest Services.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel pools were nice and the swim up bar was a nice touch.
Cons: The food wasn’t the greatest. The drinks were pretty terrible. For the price the hotel did not do an outstanding job nor was my stay what I expected. There was no information on what activities where going to be held at the hotel. I’ve stayed at cheaper hotels and have had a much better experience.
6.3 Good
Cons: Refrigerator in the room was broken.
7.9 Good
Pros: The resort is great, the rooms are big and confortable, good food , the staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: The beach is full of rocks and weeds, although picked up daily by the staff, appear constantly. But mostly, there was just a small part of the beach where you can swim at without that many rocks but far away from the main hotel where we were staying.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Very Uncomfortable mattress , did not like that they close the children pool all of them at 7 pm. They constantly run out of towels at the pool. The rooms we got were in Oaxaca very far from the pool, lobby, restaurants everything. Also every day the call at our room very early waking everyone.
Cons: Very Uncomfortable mattress , did not like that they close the children pool all of them at 7 pm. They constantly run out of towels at the pool. The rooms we got were in Oaxaca very far from the pool, lobby, restaurants everything. . Also every day the call at our room very early waking everyone. They don’t provide with umbrellas if it’s pouring. The stores only accept card payment no cash.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lot of variation of breakfast, very good food and people very kind, the restaurants are big so there are no issues with the spaces.
Cons: Nothing to comment.
TRS Yucatan Hotel - Adults Only - Puerto Aventuras - Bedroom
3
9.5 Excellent (1,558 reviews)
C$ 495+
Overview Reviews
TRS Yucatan Hotel is a 5-star luxury hotel that offers a calming retreat within the lively Riviera Maya. It is the perfect choice for couples and adults who want to enjoy privacy and personalized service whilst also offering unlimited access to a wide array of top quality services. The hotel pays homage to the indigenous flora and fauna, and the immaculate grounds are complemented by the elegant architecture and decor. From the moment guests check in, they get lost in the magic of TRS Yucatan Hotel, where worries disappear faster than the ebbing tide.
7.9 Good
Pros: The rooms were really nice
Cons: The Staff wasn’t as helpful and joyful as other hotels, specially the supervisor at check in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We fell in love as soon as we arrived to the grand entrance. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are well decorated and spacious, the variety of restaurants and bars is amazing. The quality of food along with the presentation is spectacular. Each restaurant we dined in had its own touch of class with waiters/waitresses being very well knowledged about the dishes and what they are made of. The butler service is a great touch and our butler Luis was the perfect gentleman. All staff were polite and inviting. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our anniversary and the fact they decorated our room and gifted us a bottle of champagne to celebrate was extremely appreciated. We love TRS Yucatan!
Cons: Everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, wonderful staff, and the best treatment I have ever received at a resort. We will absolutely be going back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The TRS hotel is great for couples that need a quick getaway. We did not venture to the other kid friendly portion of the hotel, nor did we need too. This is great for a 4-5 day trip but I wouldn't stay here longer than 5 days.
Cons: The first room had some small ants moving around the sink area. Likely from a previous guest that had dropped something sweet. It was clean but obviously not to the point of being ant free clean. A quick call to the butler and 2hrs later we were in a new equivalent room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Probably the best hotel I ever been in my life. In doubt just book it
7.9 Good
Pros: The TRS suites with a pool are nice (albeit dimly lit); the hydrotherapy is not to missed (when the machines are working); there are plenty of pools throughout the property with differing levels of noise; the gym and spa pool are clean, spacious and very nice; Helios restaurant is consistent with a beautiful view. I recommend Helios for breakfast and lunch! If you’re here to drink and party, then the hotel might work well for you because they generously dispense liquor in room and throughout property. They provided a nice cake and champagne for my friend’s bday.
Cons: Dinner Reservations were an ORDEAL. On your first night, you cannot make reservations and the hotel does nothing to anticipate that you’re arriving and might want dinner. The butler recommended going to a buffet at one of the other palladium properties. We spent more than an hour running from one restaurant to another trying to find a spot. Finally, we were seated and discovered the restaurants off TRS are not very nice and are overrun with guests. You’re told to make reservations for your subsequent nights but the hotel has a paper based system and they don’t always remember to drop off your reservation slip which then creates subsequent problems; and no reminders or calls are given in case of delays. Reservation system is antiquated and there are clearly better more efficient and less stressful ways to manage the dinner experience. We had issues with dinner reservations on 3 of our 4 nights!!! Really left a very negative impression. Also, I don’t drink alcohol and would have preferred an all-inclusive that excluded alcohol (why am I subsidizing the heavy drinkers?) I arrived at 830am - the check-in desk told me that my room was empty (no guests were checking out) yet they still couldn’t give me access until 3pm. Why? Doesn’t make any sense if the room is empty and clean. Also, I said I wanted to shower while I waited and the receptionist never bothered to mention there are showers at the main hotel and also at the gym/spa. Overall, didn’t feel like staff were effectively trained (though they were generally very friendly). Finally, it was pretty annoying being stopped by workers marketing discounted massages for a commission. It gave it the feel of a much lower class property. People don’t want to be upsold massages while lounging by pools.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the food, the room and the pools
Cons: The beach. The infinity pool bar closes a little soon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was so great! Will be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall excellent
Cons: The transportation between locations could be easier.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was great!
Cons: Buffet should have better choices.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Heaven section of the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya is extremely impressive. The room was fantastic with a balcony and terrace with hammock. The upstairs also had a Jacuzzi bath and the partial sea view was impressive. Room service was extremely fast and the food was very tasty. Overall the food and beverage offerings in the hotel are amazing. The only thing that could be slightly better is the booking process in the A La Carte restaurants. The pool area was vibrant but relaxing at the same time and there is so much space. Overall one of the best all inclusive category hotels I have stayed in.
Cons: The inside bar areas and main lobby's of both the Hacienda and the Heaven buildings are quite cold, the AC was turned very low - recommended to have a light jacket or jumper with you in order to not be too cold if inside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The sky terrace was awesome!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Omg loves this place. Best vacation ever!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was beyond amazing. Well informed, friendly, and helpful.
Cons: Service at the Hibachi was horribly slow. I think we waited longer than it took us to eat.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: we liked that the Heaven accepted our reservation for the entire 5 day stay.
Cons: the choices of top shelf tequila. We did not like the food selection for lunch, the only food service was the outside pool bar or room service. We found out the room service was a better choice.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beach, staff, food, pool parties, facilities. The best hotel for the price !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The heaven section pool was full of amazing music, live bar and entertainment! Rooms are super clean, restaurants are perfect and the concierge was very attentive and called us every night to help us choose the dinner restaurant and remind us what to do!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Best Ocean View in the morning from my room
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: food
Cons: I woke in the morning with spiders in my room little ones .

Pros: Rooms were very clean, surrounding area was beautiful with lots of animals out (even saw some spider monkeys!). Also close to alot of restaurants/bars in the area. Host was super attentive!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, spotless in every room and common area. Very relaxed laid back atmosphere. Sonia and Alberto were helpful and very interesting. Excellent breakfast, scrambled eggs perfect!
Cons: Instant coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great here at the hotel.
Cons: One should realize that this bed and breakfast is inside a gated community. I did not really like the Gated Community or the beach that was there. This is not the fault of the hotel at all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and safe area. Nice room in a villa with very tasty breakfast. One of best places in Yucatan for a reasonably price.
4.2 Okay
Pros: there was a tub
Cons: this place is highly rated, alltough our experience was far from good. we stayed on the suite with a pool view. 4 people. this place would be confortable for 2 adults with a kid, there is a small room, with no AC and a tv, so perfect for a kid (if you dont mind not having privacy, since there is no door). The woman got upset when my brother told her the sheet was upside down... this place has a sensor on doors and windows, if you open them, the AC will shut down, and you have to turn on the switch and the AC remote. breakfast was minimum, no fruit, only eggs, coffe (instant) and something that was a tinny of orange juice with water. the overall expericence was very poor, probably we expect too much since is rated so high. oh and at some moment i needed it use a bathroom and it look like it was painful for them to let me use the spare bathroom next to the kitchen…. also (I just remember) you are not allowed to use the kitchen, so if you need a plate or heat up something on the microwave,,, good luck (only small frigobar shared with all guests)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable rooms in very safe and quite area, but close to restaurants, shops and the beach. Great connection to go around for trips (also with the bus or " collectivos") . The owner are very helpful and friendly.
6.7 Good
Pros: I thought the house was very nice and the yard looks nice but due to the party next door, I couldn't even go outside and read my book in peace. I'm sure when it's quiet in the neighborhood the backyard is absolutely fabulous to just hang out by the pool. It was actually hard to try to take a nap in my room because of all the noise. my purpose of going to that place was to catch up on some well-needed rest and I left being more tired than when I got there.
Cons: There was a birthday party for kids next door which wasn't the owner's fault but definitely was not relaxing at all! The bed was very uncomfortable and I was hoping to get a comfortable bed for the night. It is located in a gated community where they keep dolphins and seals in captivity for entertainment for the guests that stay there. That was very disturbing and upsetting. I would not like to participate in a community like that again. I have Celiac so I wasn't able to eat any of the breakfast she provided except for the eggs. Was a little bummed that I couldn't have a nice enjoyable breakfast seeing that the place was a bed and breakfast. They should provide some alternatives for people who have dietary issues or ask about their dietary issues before they come stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous: Sonya and Alberto are the owners and their very beautiful villa. One must really go there to fully experience and appreciate their efforts of accommodating their guests!
Cons: My visit of two nights was way too short......especially heading back to winter conditions on the East Coast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was perfect. The hosts made us decilious breakfast both days. They say and helped us with ideas of where to go for dinner and sight seeing. So incredibly helpful and kind! We would def stay there again!
Cons: It was perfect!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owners are friendly and helpful. The shared breakfast table made it easy to interact with fellow guests which was interesting and enjoyable. There was a wider range of shops and restaurants on the site than we had anticipated.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything most of all quiet place

9.3 Excellent (7,140 reviews)
C$ 401+
Overview Reviews
The Barceló Maya Beach hotel is located in front of one of the most beautiful beaches in the Mexican Caribbean, which stretches 1.2 miles along the Mayan Riviera.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities, the fact that you can go to the other Barcelo resorts near-by, the pools, the restaurants, the buffets, etc. In general, I did like pretty much everything including location.
Cons: I had like to take my kids to the waterpark in the Palace resort, but, guess that was not part of my package. My youngest kid would have enjoyed that very much, but again, it is not a complain since there are so many pools through out.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was great, all amenities, the service was great!
Cons: The smell in the room was horrible, the fact that even though we were still eating I felt like we were rushed, the food was not to my fullest expectations.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything about the property!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness of the whole place is fantastic! The service staff was great. It was my second year in a row there and may go back again sometime.
Cons: More sandy areas at the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food, Gym was the best i've seen around. Shows
Cons: too big
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything..
Cons: What cud have been better???... Im speechless on this....because we found everything just the way we wanted it to be..
7.5 Good
Pros: I love from barcelo the beach, the service(exceptional), and the a la carte restaurants, honestly worth it!
Cons: I was a victim of fradulent activity at barcelo hotel. Careful with your CC!! My boyfriend and I provided my credit card info at the PADI stand to rent snorkeling equipment... They don’t charge you, but only take your credit card info in a paper to secure the equipment... that’s what they said... 3 days later my credit card was blocked and I had, eaaasy, 10 online charges on my credit card(vaporizers, protein, Airbnb’s,you name it). I called my bank and they confirmed they had already started a case to investigate the fraudulent activity on my cc and apparently it came directly from barcelo... on the same day we rented the snorkeling equipment. Please beware of that :(
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Everything was good
5.0 Okay
Pros: Buffets were good.
Cons: The room was very humid, so there was always a feeling of dampness in the room. It got kind of gross after a few days - damp sheets and bedding.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Entertainment!!!!! Swimming pool!!!! Location!!
Cons: Internet is terrible!!! For $9 per day!!!! Water system and pipes in the room should be much better in 5 star’s hotel!!!

Located in Puerto Aventuras, this beachfront property is next to a golf course, 0.5 mi (0.8 km) from Kantenah Lagoon, and 2.6 mi (4.2 km) from Dolphin Discovery. Oasis Beach and Puerto Aventuras Marina are also within 3 mi (5 km).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Funny hotel with lots of entertainment, us-style
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We are never disappointed with the Hard Rock All-Inclusives- loved the rooftop jacuzzi, fresh food with lots of options, good drinks, friendly wait staff (Jesus at the poolside area was particularly great). We felt safe and comfortable and knew we would be well-taken care of.
Cons: You have to know it’s more than an hour from the Cancun airport (but close to Tulum and some great snorkeling). Wish the Heaven (adults-only) side was bigger, as we had to get a room in the family side of the resort since Heaven sells out faster. But we love that there are adults-only pools and beaches (and restaurants) so we don’t have to listen to crying kids when we want to have some quiet time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Pool Food Entretenient
9.7 Excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: -Stuff so kind -no need to leave the resort , you can find all what you need inside it - separate the adult from children area which is really good for families -they upgrade my room to suit ( very nice and big suit) jacuzzi on the roof and other one in the bed room with big living room . -rooms so clean and service all time and so quickly -all restaurant are good -beautiful beach and many activities all days for children and adult -many big swimming pool , and water land for children
Cons: -Internet was really slow -the water of toilet in the living room was little bit yellow
10.0 Excellent
Pros: AmaZed by everything. I have stayed at several all inclusives and this has by far exceeded expectations. Great food choices, staff super attentive and not hungry for tips, rooms so clean, all great.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: The room we reserved on booking.com does not exist in the hotel. The hotel charged us an additional 600 to get the right room. They claim it’s a Booking.com issue, booking.com claims it’s a hard rock issue. In the end, the consumer is stuck in the middle with no recourse. On top of that, when I’m trying to leave they want to charge additional hundreds of dollars because they said we had more people in the room than we reserved. (This in spite of clear email that states number of people in the room. ) by the way, the food was terrible, there is no beach, And it’s impossible to get reservations in the restaurants.
7.9 Good
Pros: This is a lovely property with many animals, beautiful views, comfy rooms, and solid food. Was always clean and well-maintained. Food service was pretty amazing, actually.
Cons: Food times/restaurant hours changed often from the printed materials. It was pretty non-intuitive to find out what was going on, as there is no digital way to interact in your room, etc.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good food and lots of facilities
Cons: More chairs at the pools and beaches
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic. Huge buffet with excellent options. The property overall is gorgeous and the beaches and pool areas are wonderful. Drinks were hit or miss. Some we absolutely loved, others were just average. Very comfortable rooms. Dinner logistics really disappointed but other than that we had a pleasant stay.
Cons: Dinner was a nightmare! Upon arrival we were encouraged to make reservations everyday but were guaranteed that, if we did not make reservations, we could go to a standby line and wait for about 15 minutes. That is not what happened! On our first night we waited for 50 minutes at Toro to get a table. At least we got a table! On our second night, we went to 7 different restaurants and got turned down by all of them! They didn’t tell us “wait for 30 or 40 or 50 minutes”. They told us “there is no room today. Find another restaurant”. The Asian restaurant at least told us to come back in 40 minutes so they could try to seat us. After said time passed, we went back only to be told there would be no seats available. And this was at almost 9pm! The funny thing was, we could see from outside that all of these restaurants were at least half empty, which really confused us as to why we couldn’t be seated. After an hour and a half walking to each restaurant to no avail (from 7:30 until 9pm!), we were hungry and frustrated so we went to the concierge and asked where the buffet was. He then told us he could make a reservation for the italian restaurant for 9:15pm. We then arrived at the restaurant to discover that even more than half the tables were empty. Service was slow and the food was unimpressive. The next day, we were at the lobby at 08:30 am to make reservations and were surprised to know that there were no restaurants available! After a long discussion we were able to make reservations for the asian restaurant for 9:45pm. Overall, it was a very frustrating experience, with conflicting information given by staff. We have stayed at other Hard Rock Hotels and have never seen such bad logistics. Hard Rock should send someone to train these people. Everyone seemed lost and we’re sad to say it put a damper on our vacation experience.
9.1 Excellent
Cons: Food was good although after a few days, it got repetitive. They should have an Indian restaurant - people would love that.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed staying at Unico 20’87’. The personnel was pleasant, our host Carlos was great. We liked the variety of the restaurants, the spa, and the proximity to the beach. Overall very nice hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Food, Staff, Pools, Service, Local Host, Room, Room Service, Spa Tub, Views, Design and Decor. Scent in Hotel. Daily schedule of events.
Cons: Didn't like that people in swim up rooms were loud with groups of people hanging out in the grass.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated hotel- modern whites and greys throughout with a spa scent that hits you as soon as you enter the foyer. We were upgraded to an Estencia Suite- the additional space is so worth it if you are considering an upgrade! I would personally recommend this over a swim up room! Views from ground level offer less privacy or view however the 2nd /3rd floor suites are incredible views of the ocean and resort. Room service is not to be missed as it’s restaurant quality dining to the comfort of your balcony for a more private meal overlooking the ocean. We did the snorkel con tortugas trip which was amazing to see three giant sea turtles! (Activity operators may seem less professional than the hotel superior level of service but their way is just more relaxed) Movie night under the stars is a great touch and all the restaurants specifically the Italian are amazing- couldn’t quite believe this was all inclusive. Finally the vibe of the hotel was spot on for us as 30 year old newly married without kids- great pool music for a party vibe without feeling like your in a hard rock pool party! Very classy and opportunity for party if you want it - just right !! We absolutely loved our trip - 10 days was perfect!
Cons: Absolutely nothing negative to report! Sadly the beach wasn’t as ‘white sand and crystal water’ as in some pictures but that was purely due to surge in seaweed populating at that time on the shore line
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was so clean, everybody really nice, good restaurants.
Cons: Can’t think of anything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing decor, well kept facilities
Cons: Pool floor was very rough
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the space, the gardens, the pool, the beautiful decor everywhere, the design of the restaurants and the room! Also the Drinks were AMAZING with high end liquor and all included. Really amazing.
Cons: - the service was really amazing at times, and then sometimes was just terrible, like at the Hotel’s Cafe. The ladies there were simply rude! Overall mostly it was amazing, but I find it hard to bare when we encountered bad service again and again. - Room service was mostly good and timely but forgot to replace our Shampoos, bath salts etc. again and again. Ever when i specifically called to remind them to stock them they did not. - the food was very good mostly at the buffet but the food at the restaurants was just not as high end as it seemed that it needed to be. Nothing was really really delicious, everything just good, real nice presentation but as for taste, nothing was really there. - the seafood was just not great throughout, which was really surprising! The meat was Great!

Pros: Services and staff are an exceptional. We had a wedding Vow Renewal at the Hotel. They upgraded a room and gave us special surprise gifts. Spa treatment is an awesome too. We had a couple massage and their therapists is better than high-end hotel in states.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything was wonderful. Centre tour and massages were great!
Cons: Beach isn’t great but pools make up for it! And I’m a beach person. Read that others complained about music at pool but they must have fixed that because the music was super faint and really inoffensive and pleasant.

Pros: Enjoyed the location and facilities. Very clean and safe. The breakfast was sufficient for what we need. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful facility. Staff surprised my wife on the morning of her birthday with a small cake with our coffee in the room. Was very nice !
Cons: Some language barriers but was always able to communicate what was needed with my limited Spanish. Even though most rooms were occupied, did not see other guests utilize the facilities, so not sure if the staff would be able to handle a increase of requests from guests. Pool filter seemed to not be working quite right, so the pool was a little cloudy. Maintenance was working to fix the issue the day we were leaving.

Cons: Dessert at restaurants could have been better

Pros: The resort is beautiful, the food is fabulous and the staff are so friendly and try to accommodate your every need. So many different food options and the staff work so hard to keep the beach clean. Would definitely come back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We fell in love with Catalonia Royal Tulum! It’s a beautiful location, it feels very authentic, the staff are the hardest working people i’ve ever met and also the friendliest! The room was comfortable, the shower was amazing, the food and drinks were amazing, they kept the beach very clean despite the seaweed, we were constantly entertained. It was very worth it to upgrade to be privileged guests. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay as possible. We WILL be back!!
Cons: everything was perfect
9.6 Excellent
Pros: For the cost we paied, is VERY good deal. We got even un upfrade, so for the cost of the standard room, we got a Junior suite and the "priviledge" entrance. That was very nice. The room was nice, big and confy as you can expect from a 5 star. Big shower, big bathroom, nice terrace. The sea was not at his best during our stay: always a bit rough and pretty full of algae. So all the guests were around the big swimming pool most of the time and the beach was quite empty. The staff was very very nice: all the waiters and room-cleaners supersweet and polite. The 5 different restaurants can be pretty full at peak time in peak season, so if you go around 8-8.30PM, you have to wait a bit before to get your seats. But we were in peak season and at that time was full of italians and italians all have dinner at same time. So i suppose usually you will not have a problem. The 5 different restaurant are nice because you can change style and food, but none of them is very very good...they are all average. We had acces to the "exclusive" one ("BeLoved") and we did not like it: was kind of nouvelle cousine, so very small portions (ok, you can ordere as much you want) and with kind of sophisticated food.....but very international type and nothing to talk home about. The best restaurant was the Grill (kind of steak-house) because he prepare very simple food (meat grilled) but very high quality and perfectly cooked. The buffet restaurant was good...average for a 5 star hotel, but still good with big variety of food. The swimming pool was no deep at all (you can walk anywhere inside it, never more the 1.5 meters deep) and in the evening the water was pretty warm after many hours of sun. The cocktail arre all with very little alcool (but again: being an all inclusive, it meke sense: you can have how many you want and I suppose the management don't wish to have aroudn many drunken clients).
Cons: The Animation Team is doing a good job: exist but is not too much intrusive. They do some activity but not too much. This is good. On the other hand, the "disco club" seems not to work. Considering the Hotel is isolated, I think a bit more of activity in late night will be good. You are forced to go to bed more or less around 23.00. No big deal but considering there are also many young couples, I think the disco club must work. Some of the hostess (the girls that make you enter in the restaurants) can be pretty rough: they think they are managing a top class restaurant in Paris. Differently from the waiters, all very sweet and friendly. At the end the staff at the Buffet restaurant (in theory the worse restaurant of the 5) was the best for attitude.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, awesome food (especially the BLoved restaurant for privileged guests) and good drinks with a variety of alcohol.
Cons: Our AC didn’t work too well event though maintenance came to « fix it ». Don’t be fooled, there is seaweed (a lot of it) on the beach but they clean it really well every day and it’s been the same everywhere in Cancun for a few years, it’s not the resorts fault.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The walk to the beach and the hotel in general are really beautiful. The staff is really nice and make you feel like at home from day one! Food quality is very good too.
Cons: For a 5 stars hotel, in my opinion, the beds were not very comfortable. Despite of their efforts for maintaining clean the beach, there's a huge problem with the seaweeds that doesn't make it very appealing to swim in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The variety of activities made available daily to the guests. They did their very best to keep it fresh. Great talent. Great service from ALL the staff. Everyone there tried to accommodate reasonable requests without any trouble. The monkeys were sooo cute! All around, it was a great value for the price!
Cons: The food and some of the bottom shelf alcohol was not good quality, but considering the price, it is expected of an all-inclusive resort. Not really a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort is on the small compared to others but I like it better because you can walk anywhere in just a few minutes and the staff gave us excellent service! The grounds are very well maintained and there is wildlife everywhere, also the beach is beautiful!!!! We got the privileged package which gave us access to a wonderful beach front restaurant called bloved which had excellent food and drinks! Will def visit again!
Cons: they train the staff to push their time share pretty hard and they will try to set an appointment for you to attend a one and half hour sales presentation, we had just arrived to the hotel and wanted to go to our room after a long trip so it was a little annoying to sit in the lobby for 20 min with the person trying to set the appointment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in Catalonia Royal Tulum for a full week with my girlfriend. First of all, the way the staff (Bernardo and Hector) welcomed us at the lobby, not only giving us all the information we needed but also being 100% warmly and helpful with our luggages. After that, once passed the lobby you are immediately projected in an astonishing path that guides you to the different buildings and then to the pool/beach/restaurant area. Why astonishing? because this path is surrounded by a 100% cured jungle with all types of animals that deeply connects you with the nature, giving since the beginning a sense of relaxation and calm. Walking on that path every day was unique. The room, was perfect with all the services, super cleaned indeed it looked like if it was new. A huge shower, towels where needed and also a robe per guest in case of necessity. The fridge with all types of drinks and food, a big tv, a huge king size bed, a sofa.... trust me i can keep going but i wouldn't find more fantastic words. Then the pool area, huge and insane. The spa really really the TOP, with extra cost massages. The all inclusive bars super efficient in serving tequila and all types of drinks we needed. The 8 different restaurants (Bloved, Asian, Mexican, Grill, Toscano, La Selva, The Terrace, Sorrento) also amazing with delicious food. The food experience was totally unique in Catalonia Royal Tulum. Least but not last, I must mention some of the best stuff I met during the stay: Roberto Poot Noh, Horacio Perez Lopez, Luis Ronaldo Jimenez Perez, Quetzabel Jimenez, and Elizabeth Velazquez and Wilmer. All these people I mentioned made my girlfriend and I stay even better, over every expectation. They were super professional and respectful and at the same time on piece every time we needed something. They were always able to meet in full our necessity at the restaurants and the bars. The beach and the sea are WONDERFUL we love it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All food, drinks and breakfast etc was fine; a lot of choice and variety; The staff - in general - was very friendly and polite; Great location, nice ambiance, and no children :) (adults only)
Cons: Overall no real complaints as such, however, two things i can note are the following: 1) unfortunately there was quite a lot of sargazo (seaweed) in the entire area, i.e., not just at the resort but all over the place; in 10 days we had just 1 day were there was almost no seaweed at all; the other days there were always batches of seaweed around; although you get used to it, that could have been better - although it is obviously not the resorts fault in any way; 2) i noticed that most bartenders would be extra friendly to people that would leave them tips, whereas they were sometimes somewhat indifferent to those who did not, in practice that could entail not being the first in line when ordering drinks etc.; which I considered a bit annoying here & there; I obviously get it - as people live off tips as an addition to their salaries - but it would have been nice if it had been a bit less. However, this was not always the case and more an exception to the general rule that most staff were polite, professional and friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Catalonia Royal Tulum is our home away from home. Service is truly exceptional with every single staff going above and beyond in making sure that you feel welcome and truly taken care of. We are happily (and many times) returning guests and this time, we were honoured with a palm tree planting ceremony by the management and staff. How incredibly thoughtful! The food is great, rooms - comfortable and inviting, the beach - magical. We are already planning our next trip.
Cons: NOTHING
7.7 Good
Pros: BEACH! Absolutely fantastic beach. White sand as far as the eye could see, as well as in the water. You stand in white sand in the ocean which is great and also its very clear. I was standing in chest high water and I could see my toes. Plenty of chairs for everyone and plenty of room to spread out and relax. Room and bed were very comfortable and shower/bathroom were good as well. If your trip is for great relaxing beach this is the place.
Cons: The food was pretty sub par and the wait staff was very slow and often forgot to bring your drink. They were all very nice just inattentive. They served the same quality of food and the buffet that they did in the restaurants so there really isn't a point to them. If your trip is to be wined and dined, this isn't the place.

Pros: We felt like home! The room is very clean and spacious, the garden is beautiful and even has a pool. Mary is a great host, she made us feel very welcomed and prepared a delicious breakfast for us in the morning. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mary Jo is an excellent hostess, very friendly and helpful. She made us feel right at home. Wonderful place for holiday in a lovely home, very clean and quiet. For us the best accommodation during our holiday. The breakfasts were very good. Thanks dear Mary Jo for all!
Cons: Really nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: More a private house, than B&B, with fantastic host, amazing breakfast and superb location. During high season Puerto Aventuras is one of the best places to stay on the Riviera Maya. The whole hotel zone is enclosed, so no crowds, clean and nice beach. Plus, a good starting point to see other places. Maria speaks very good English, so can always help and advice.
Cons: That's a private house, so don't expect much privacy, especially on the ground floor. Bathroom is private, but not en-suite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location. The use of a pool. But above all the very warm, sincere welcome and wonderful food that the owner provides.
Cons: Nothing to say for this!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You are staying in a room in a lovely couple's house, and they couldn't make it more welcoming, relaxed, homely and easy. Mary Jo served an incredible breakfast each day, with fruit, granola, plenty of coffee and homemade cake as a bonus! The house is realy lovely, the room has a private door onto the huge garden which is communal with the neighbours, but with your own table and chairs. There is also a pool for use although I was too busy exploring to go in! Mary Jo has great local knowledge and can help you out with whatever you are looking to do. You have your own bathroom which is large, with a great shower, just next to your room.
Cons: Nothing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our short stay in Mom's House! The rooms were good and clean, breakfast with home made bread and cakes (they were delicious!!) was very nice. You can sit in the garden and relax or even swim in the pool. Mary was such a lovely host and it was a place where you can feel like home! PS: Her little dog "Couscous" was also very cute!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mary Jo is an excellent hostess. The breakfasts were an excelente combination of fruits, bread, eggs and coffee. Security is excellent because Puerto Aventuras is a gated community. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do: Beaches, Snorkeling, Cenotes and Archaeological sites.
Cons: I should have asked for directions of the B&B. I did not realize it was in a gated community and I passed it twice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: At the property I particularly liked the wonderful breakfast Mary Jo provided, so healthy and colourful and tasty. I also very much liked her peaceful garden. I liked the fact that the area was very safe to walk even at night, and that it was easy to walk to the wonderful marina, shops, cultural events and bus stops.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is really lovely and we can recommend the staying at Mom‘s home to 100%. She does everything posible that the guests feel comfortable for example she gave us a lot of recommendations where to eat and she recommended us a good dive shop and she even drove us directly to the dive shop. The breakfast was absolutely amazing with a lot of fruits, homemade marmelade, homemade bread and a delicious cake (especially the carrot cake) and if you want to you even can have eggs. The house is situated in an area where only residences have access so it is very safe.

Pros: I booked for 2 adults and a child ! Breakfast was included apart from the child ! He had to starve unless we paid , the staff in the lobby were miserable ! Good was good . All we heard was “ you have to pay for that “ we are aware of the payment for food etc without being reminded . They gave us 2 pool towels , the kid had to drip dry !!! I seriously had to request a towel for him ! Stupid people !!!
Cons: That my grandchild seemed to be invisible !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic, with a very nice beach and nice pool. Room was generous with a very good bathroom
Cons: Breakfast wasn’t great. Staff were a bit grumpy. They charged us for drinking water; none of the other four hotels in Yucatan did. Finally, the cleaning product they use is so smelly that it made us a bit sick

Pros: The location and food
Cons: The rooms have terrible smell of mold!!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Very nice beach with great snorkeling. Unaffected by the sargassum (fraction of the impact in other areas due to the southeastern facing section of beach and daily cleaning)
Cons: The staff is unfriendly. I’m sure they get a lot of suburban a__h_ole gringos who think the world owes them a favor but it’s their job to be nice and welcoming and they are bad at it.

Pros: Location: excellent; food: exceptional; beach bar: superb, staff: great!!!
Cons: Pool bar closed too early. Fitness facility (third party) not on par w/ the rest of the hotel.

Pros: The beach . It is small but not crowded. The sea water is clean, calm and transparent with a lot of fishes. The main restaurant with a good buffet choice and the possibility to reserve the other restaurants.
Cons: the room with no view and always humid the market stalls in the middle of the resort

6.8 Good
Pros: You can't possibly find nicer people. The staff is extremely friendly and as accommodating as possible. Great atmosphere for families, or with a significant other -definitely not for you if you are single. Beautiful location and maintained pretty well. Great poolside bartenders!
Cons: Resort almost completely shuts down by 10pm no matter what night of the week. Found ourselves bored which is unfortunate considering we chose this place due to the amount of activities and what we thought would be nightlife. The food was horrible. At every restaurant....even with the privilege option. Good value, great location and people but wouldn't return due to the food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurants were fabulous. The buffets were great as well. The staff could not have been nicer. Plenty of pools and bars to get a drink. If you go hungry or thirsty here, it’s your fault.
Cons: Really no complaints, other than the pools seemed to be closed in the evening. Would have been nice to been able to swim in the evening after the blistering sun had gone down. Maybe that’s a regulation I’m not aware of.
6.7 Good
Pros: The rooms were a good size, the beds very comfortable and the hotel was nice.
Cons: The food was very poor in my opinion except the Japanese. The beach area if you can call it that was disgusting. I found one of the reception staff and one of the bell boys to be very rude.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cleaning staff was terrific! Didn’t feel like we were being “policed” by staff.
Cons: There doesn’t seem to be enough pool chairs for all of the guests and it’s a fight to get pool chairs. The party pool was really loud and got annoying sometimes but I know a lot of people like that.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great food and service. Nicely designed for a resort, all you need is close enough.
Cons: Beach is not as beautiful as in other areas of Riviera Maya. It is a bit far from Playa del Carmen and Cancun.
7.5 Good
Pros: Buffet is excellent
Cons: sound proofing was bad, not enough beach towels
9.6 Excellent
Cons: The buffet food need more variety, the menu restaurants were awesome!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every effort was made to meet our needs and they were met.
Cons: There could be clearer information on what your package includes on arrival. The package is good but there could be more then you realised.
6.0 Good
Pros: Walk up to any bar and get a drink (well of course, top shelf extra) FOR FREE! Well, it's included.
Cons: Needed more dedicated adults only sections/pools.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff. Top shelf liquors. Nice that is not a supersized resort. Easy to get around the Resort. Lots of food/ restaurant choices and all delicious.
Cons: Unfortunately could use a very small portion of the beach. The coastline was covered in seaweed. Hotel staff cleaning it up daily, but the seaweed is overwhelming.

Pros: Variety of restaurants. There was an adult poolside.
Cons: The beach had too much seaweed. They played elevator music on the adult pool side and wouldn't change it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The lamb dish we had was excellent as were the Louisiana fishcakes.
Cons: The view from our room was over the roof of a kitchen. Breakfast buffet was a zoo, so many people, a poorly situated table, cold food. The staff worked hard in a bad situation.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff was great for what they had to work with. They did the best they could do.
Cons: The smell was horrendous. The furnishing either need to be upgraded or cleaned (i.e. The lampshade in the room had stains all over it). It may have been the wrong time of year but the beach was covered with seaweed and it was closed. Not good when you're going some place that shows photos of beautiful beaches.

Pros: The location
Cons: The condo was not ready when we got there, despite of our arrival being at 6:30 pm. They gave us another condo to use until they had ours ready, but the lady said it would take them one our and a half to clean and it took them three hours. So we only checked in to our unit past 9 pm. When we booked, they asked a time frame for our arrival and I said between 6 and 7 pm. I don’t know what could possibly have happened that did didn’t have the unit ready at 6:30.

Pros: Price
Cons: Was just there one night. No one told me what the wifi password was so couldn't use it Was given a room in the corner with a view of a laundry room. Would have like to see the whole complex.

Pros: Dined at the Divot and Hippo's and both were good . Marina and dolphin park are nice .
Cons: Beach access is limited and bad seaweed problem on most beaches in Playa del Carmen area . Not great if you love the ocean .

Pros: Saul was very helpful and friendly. The condo was clean, stocked with everything we needed and the kids loved the pool. Walking to the restaurants was closer than i thought, we did this walk every evening. The beach was very close, we just laid out our towels on the point. Beautiful area. I would definitely book this place again.
Cons: The beds were extra extra firm and hard on our backs, but other than that no complaints.

Cons: nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location and pool were great.
Cons: Some bottled water would have been great after a long flight from Australia.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The staff were really nice.
Cons: The food at every restaurant on the resort was awful. The only good thing I had was the chips from the convenience store. I ended up eating at the hard Rock down the street and it was sooooo goood! Tooo many flies. Watered down drinks. Pool was was nice and clean when i arrived but eventually turned a disgusting dark green blue because it was filled with bugs, bird feathers and anything else you can think of. The pool filter must have been broken. The room was nice except for the parts of the roof that kept falling onto the bed. I would not stay here again.
