TERRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH!!!Pros:NOTHINGCons:Got to the office and find out bcoz I was a local resident, I will get only 250 miles a day, not the unlimited miles as stated on the contract when I booked the car. If I want to get the unlimited miles, I had to pay $20/per day extra, which was ridiculous. Did not have a time to look for other car rental companies and wind up paying much more than what I signed the first Contract. Secondly, I booked the SUV for my family and they told me at the end that they do not have the SUV in hand so I have to get the Car which I did not want to begin with. Overall HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience with the Advantage. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ADVANTAGE RENT A CAR AGAIN. EVER!! And will advise the others to stay away from them.Reviewed 8 Jan. 2018

Advantage San Antonio AirportPros:Nothing.Cons:Everything. Take a ride share there,but forgot my wallet. I talked to the employee to see if they could rent to me without it. No. So I asked what all I need and get told me my driver's license and insurance. I git a ride share back home and back to advantage. So I had now spent over $40 on ride share. I only had a debit card available and they would not rent to me. I was very unhappy. I explained my situation how I had already spent over $40 to get there and the employee mentioned nothing to me about needing a credit card. The manager was unhelpful and very much uninterested in my situation. The employee I first spoke is now arguing with my with a loud volume in hospital voice and very confrontational. He was dealing with another customer that gad a young child with him. This employee walks towards me in a threatening manner. He is a muscular and fit individual wearing a shirt that's two sizes two small fir him and he looks like he's busting out of it. He makes comments about how he will take care of me and that i need to shut up before he makes me outside. I took these as physical threats. The manager just stood there not saying a word to the employee. I asked the mngr if he would interject and tell the employee to stop with his threatening behavior, but the mngr chose to do nothing. I felt extremely unsafe and was ready to defend myself at all costs. I left the establishment without a rental and had to get another ride share home. My vehicle was in the repair shop so I needed a rental until it was repaired. So I am not out about $60 for the ride shares. This was a horrible experience and is unexceptionable. I would like to know exactly how this will be handled by higher up managers. I would also like to be compensated for the ride share. I would never had mad this reservation knowing this would happen.Reviewed 21 Nov. 2017

Do not rent from this companyCons:This company is corrupt, they charged me for insurance when I specifically told them I didn't want it and then refused to refund it. They put a bunch of additional items on my bill and refused to take them off when I called them within 24 hours of renting the car. Very, very bad customer service and both the employees found joy in the fact that they would not give me any money back, it was very odd as I don't know any company that would act this way. Really bad experience and very deceptive trade practices, I will be reporting them to the BBB and fighting the charges on my credit card.Reviewed 22 Mar. 2018

Pros:Overall a great experience. I was nervous not renting from one of the big companies but the value was outstanding and I couldn't pass it up. I ended up with an extra passenger and needed to upgrade to a larger vehicle and they were very accommodating and gave us a mini van for a very reasonable price (versus the outrageous prices usually charged for mini vans). All the rental companies were off site and we arrived on Christmas day so I was a bit worried about how often a shuttle would show up. We waited maybe 5 or 10 minutes max and once we got to the facility everything moved quickly and smoothly. Drop off was a breeze as well. The car was very comfortable. Chrysler 200 easy toPros:I appreciated our shuttle driver that brought us to pick up our car. He gave us good tips to prepare for our drive around the city of San Antonio. The wear Ther was a mess, but getting a heads up on the flood area made it easier to maneuver. Checking the car in and out was a breeze. Thanks for having such wonderful staff.Cons:The only disappointment was my trip was not longer. ThanksReviewed 9 Jun. 2016

Pickup experience not ok...Cons:After arriving at the pickup area with our kids and bags - we expected to pick up the car in less than 15 minutes... it took over an hour. First, we were told that we'd need to put down a $200 deposit. That was NOT explained clearly when booking the reservation and is not something we've been asked to do at other rental agencies. Second, we were told that our card would not go through. We tried it three times and then called the bank to see if there was a lock on the account due to traveling so far from our usual area of account activity. The quickly added the travel advisory to the account to ensure transactions could process from where we were. Again, the agent ran the card and again stated it had not been cleared. This happened six more times. In between each "try", the agent helped other customers (who had not been asked for a deposit). An hour later, we called the bank and had them stay on the phone to ensure plenty of funds were available and that the transaction was cleared. The agent ran the card again - denied. This time he claimed my credit had been denied. I've NEVER had a credit check to rent a car in my life! Nor did I fill out any paperwork authorizing such a thing to take place. Finally, my fellow traveler had to use her credit card to rent the vehicle with the deposit - but surprising without a credit check. I had to be added as an additional driver at an extra cost of about $10 per day. A cost we didn't need to pay had the agent simply accepted payment from my account. To top it off - we had to witness employees fighting and cursing at each other in front of my children as we loaded into the car. As a Veteran, Federal Employee, and frequent traveler - I expected better treatment. I would rather walk than deal with Advantage rental ever again. Never again.Reviewed 5 Apr. 2016

Pros:Nice car and more than I paid for.Cons:Wasn't informed of their gas special which would have been cheaper than filling up at a station and easier to submit as an expense to my business.
