Easy drop off, great car. Did not like that I was charged for the fuel option even though I brought the car back with a full tank. However, after calling a day after bringing the car back the error was corrected and I got a refund.Reviewed 16 Sep. 2022

The cost was cheaper than the big guys but still 3x what I would expect to pay. The check in process was very slow.Reviewed 9 Oct. 2021

Everything about Alamo and the rental car was great, except for one thing. We picked up the car very late, 11:15 pm, due to a flight delay. There was only one agent at the desk, and in working with him to check out the car, I asked if the car has a toll road transponder (having done my homework and knowing that many of the freeways back east are tolled). He said yes, that it did. However, he did not mention how to use the transponder, and provided no additional information on the transponder. Having never driven a rental car on the east coast before, I was unaware that the transponder had to be "opened" in order to be read by the cameras. It wasn't until we hit a toll road with a gate that that gatekeeper informed us that we needed to swing the transponder open for it to work. Unfortunately this was about two weeks into our trip, when we had driven through at least a dozen toll booths in the "EZ Pass" lanes, thinking we were good to go because "we had a transponder"! I come from Washington State, where our HOV transponders are always "on", and the only thing we have to change it to indicate if we are YES to HOV or NO to HOV. We don't have to "open" anything for the transponder to be read. So please make sure that your rental agents always tell people about having to "open" the transponders.Reviewed 30 Sep. 2021

Car was poorly cleaned. Agent was missinv from booth and two other rental car agents went to find ours. Then he started pushing upcharges. When I inspected the car snd found dents and paint chips he was again nowhere to br found to report them. I have used Enterprise for years but this was not a good experience. We did get nice and efficient service at thr drop off in Providence.Reviewed 29 Sep. 2021

I preregistered so picking up the car was a breeze. Car was clean and ready to go. Be prepared as inventory is low and rates are spendy.Reviewed 26 Sep. 2021

Vehicle was pretty new, clean and with a full tank of gas - it handles well. Sounds basic, but I have had issues with these factors at Alamo and elsewhere. Initial rental transaction at Portland ME took a while, and I would have appreciated an earlier alert that I should wait in a different line. Return at Bangor rental counter was fine (though I had assumed they'd have someone with handheld devices in the parking lot. As the car was great, my experience was very positive.Reviewed 16 Sep. 2021

My daughter reserved this car for us several weeks in advance, fearing the rental shortage caused by COVID. The car was advertised as a Maserati and was available for a month for about $1,700. She jumped on that smoking deal. Neither of us fully expected to get a Maserati when we arrived at the Alamo counter and we were not surprised. We did get, however, a very nice Nissan which worked beautifully for our month and we were very pleased with the car. We loved Paul, the service guy who checked us in, and we dropped off the car so early in the day that no one was there. It was a totally great experience and we joked for a month about driving our "Maserati" around mid-coast Maine.Reviewed 1 Sep. 2021

That we had a car was great. There were many travelers who we know didn’t get cars at all. It was a pretty basic car though. Not all the safety features we would expect from a car in 2021. No front collision warning. No proximity warning for parking either in back or front. And no sensors keeping the correct distance behind other cars when using cruise control.Reviewed 10 Jul. 2021

Pros:Nothing. I canceled my reservation at the kiosk.Cons:I was given 3 cars to try. The first car wouldn’t turn on and was filthy. The second car had brakes that sounded terrible. The third was filthy. The clerk was rude and short with me. She said those 3 terrible cars were my only options. Yes, including a car that wouldn’t start. I canceled my reservation and went with enterprise.Reviewed 15 Mar. 2021
