When I picked up the car the "Low Tire Pressure" light was on. I figured I would just add air to the tire, when I got to my destination. The next day the tire pressure was down to 16lbs of pressure. I observed a slow leak in the tire. I then drove to the Enterprise office, where they told me they had no other cars to give me. The Enterprise employee (who was very helpful) arranged for a car to be towed from another facility. After sitting in the car and waiting for three hours the car arrived. I don't blame the employee, she was excellent. I can't believe that Enterprise depletes inventory of vehicles, in case something occurs. If this occurred after hours, no vehicle would have been provided until the next day.

When I arrived, the car I booked was not allowed to be received with the card I had paid with. Extreme rules that you can only rent with a debit card if you return to the same location and have an outbound flight ticket. But I booked a one way rental Boston to Albany, with a train ticket home. Shouldn't be allowed to rent with a card I won't be able to complete the trip with. Or needs to be EXTREMELY indicated. Very disruptive and disappointing part of the trip, I won't feel confident renting on Kayak again.

When I picked up the car the fuel was 3/4 and I reported to the employee at the exit gate before I leave. She said she made a mark on my agreement and told me to return it the same way which I did. Now when I dropped off the van the gentleman told me to just put the key in the car and leave. I told him about the gas situation. He said ok. Now they email me the receipt showed that they changed me over $100.00 over from the previous agreement because of the gas. That is not right. I am going to contest unfair business practices

Adequate staff. The line was 2 hours long one person working while all the other rental companies had an average of 3 people working with no lines. The car provided was not as ordered , we ordered a fill size SUV and was given a 7 passenger kia with no room for luggage and could barely accommodate three car seats. After standing in line for 2 hours I took the car as we still had a 2-hour drive ahead of us. When I called 50 they were closed. I called them the next day and was put on hold for 1 hr and 15 min trying to get them to deliver me a different car. I never spoke to anyone and the call was dropped after waiting that long . We never got the car as ordered and they are still trying to charge me for the full size SUV. I will never rent from them again or Dollar.

Nobody was at the desk during advertised business hours. There was a sign directing customers to another agency desk, which was also closed. There was a line of 100 people and only 1 staff member in the entire car rental center.

The class of vehicle reserved and paid for in advance was not delivered. After a two hour wait to receive the vehicle I was offered a lower class vehicle for no discount and when I said so the attendant asked if I wanted to be put back to the end of the 90 minute line. He also took a bribe in front of other customers and moved a customer to the front. Raymond at Boston airport is a liability. They are understaffed and mismanaged. Never again.

The agent at the counter printed out the contract that was three times more expensive than what I expected to pay. I had to explain to him multiple times that I didn’t want the more expensive insurance. Eventually he corrected the contract and charged me what I was supposed to pay. The overall experience of renting a car is absolutely terrible. You always end up paying for more than what you quoted.

Easy pick up and drop off for the most part at the airport except the National employees weren’t at the counter when flights got in making a great many people standing in line for both National and Alamo so the Alamo people could help us.

They had issues with their credit card reader/computer and I had to wait for them to call my credit card company to verify it. This was at 1100pm after a long day of travel.... so it was a little annoying.

Cons:

The car was pretty beat up on the exterior and interior. Good news was they didn’t charge me for the condition of the car. I would have spent most of the rest of night circling things on the form otherwise.

We showed up and they didn’t have a car for us, they said they were understaffed and they didn’t have any clean cars. I saw what looked like hundreds of cars in the Sixt area, but he said he was working alone and couldn’t help us…even if I took a dirty car. Horrible experience after flying all day, landing at midnight and having a tired 5 and 8 year old. Was horrible and don’t think I’ll use them again.

The car was reserved and when we arrived they stated they did not have the car we reserved. They only had upgrades and made us pay $125 extra plus tax because they didn’t have what we reserved. Though car allocated was good and served its purpose, the whole relationship and experience was very frustrating even up till now. As I write, I have been over charged twice for tge rental and efforts to get the attention of your company to rectify the OBVIOUS anomalies have been frustrated. If I don’t get a quick and positive response for the correction, I may see legal redress in the nearest future. The first rental charge to my account on May 5, 2023 was $1,527.84 for the period April 29 - May 3rd, 2023. I complained in writing and visited your Boston office 3times to rectify it but met with frustration!!!!! The second charge to my account for the period May 3rd to June 10, 2023 was $2,122.86 posted to my account on June 12, 2023 ( transaction date, June 10,2023). This is very frustrating, unprofessional and should be corrected IMMEDIATELY!!! It is very unbecoming of an organization like SIXT. Have made several calls in the last 48hours for an urgent redress but got tossed around by your representatives that attended to the calls. I am very frustrated and it was a very bad experience for me. My fist dealing with SIXT for that matter. May be heading for a legal redress if I am still left unattended to.

Pros:

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Vehicle was very nice and at an affordable rate.

Cons:

There were some staffing issues on the return, but nothing unbearable and nothing abnormal in this climate. It was apparent the staff was doing everything they could to help and I appreciated their efforts.

Pros:

They gave me a car that broke down half way to destination. They then hung up on me twice after I was trying to tell them the car wasn’t working. On the third call, they basically had no idea what to do and finally figured they needed to call a tow truck. But now I was being told I had to come back with the car in the tow truck. Meaning I had to wait up 90 minutes for the tow to arrive, and then ride an hour back to Boston, pick up a new car and drive another 2 hours to where I was going. The car battery died at some point during all this and it was below freezing. I asked at least two employees if I could leave the car where it was at with the keys inside, so that I could head to another rental agency and just move on from there, and both said yes. I then get a phone call from a number that’s not even associated with silvercar saying that if I leave the car before the tow arrives I’m responsible to anything that happens to it. At that point I was already in an Uber on the way to an airport car rental. They had no idea what they telling me. They eventually got the car back. And I don’t know how, but they were going to charge me 4 times more than what I agreed to, because the guy at check out kept accidentally updating my reservation and adding more days to my reservation. That probably wouldn’t happen anywhere else, because this place is trying do all their business through smart phones. They are at least reimbursing me. And whoever the female worker was on Sunday during the whole situation was totally rude.

Cons:

Basically everything. I’m sure it’s fine if your rental car doesn’t break down, but if it does it’s a nightmare.

NOTHING!!!!! I sent a text to the number to have my car brought to me. I was informed they weren't taking 3rd party reservations and that it didn't matter that I had a confirmation number. The person on the other end was less than friendly and was sarcastic. I did receive several "We apologize for the inconvenience". My reply was "An inconvenience is me having to wait 15 minutes for my car to arrive" to which they replied "well have a nice day" Which I replied with an angry emoji and let them know I was given the a poor review and would NEVER use them again!

Cons:

EVERYTHING! An actual car when I arrived, you know, the one I reserved! The fact that this company could've cared less about me being stranded in Boston with no means to get to my destination. This is poor customer service on steroids. I rent a car just about every week for my work since I'm constantly traveling. Hertz made the mistake of giving away my rental because I was 30 minutes later than I had said I would be (my plane was delayed). It was spring break and they could charge another customer more. I have never rented another vehicle from them or their affiliates. That was almost a year ago. I have now placed Silvercar on this boycott list. Thank you AVIS for coming to my aid and helping me get to my destination. Not only did they have a similar vehicle, but when I explained what happened, THEY honored Silvercar's price! THAT's customer service!!!

Pros:

The check-out person at the garage was very nice.

Cons:

We waited in line for almost 30 minutes to get our car, and the rep, who was very nice, moved at a snails pace. By the time we got to our car, we had to wait another 10+ minutes as there was a line of cars getting checked out to leave the garage. In the end, it took 90 minutes in total from the time I got off my plane until I left the garage with my car.

There was no option to cancel my rental, which I could not use due to a snowstorm that hit Boston the night of my rental. This is extremely disappointing to me.

Pros:

Was economical. Car was fine, pretty typical rental process.

Cons:

Employees are trained to try to get you to purchase all the useless extras. The counter pickup experience is very slow, with the process sometimes taking 20-30 minutes for a single customer as they try to convince them that the insurance and extras are worth it. It's not that much different than other rental places, but definitely slower and slightly more obnoxious. Still, I'll always go with the cheapest rental.

Our flight was changed due to a storm and when I called Advantage, the phone agent said as long as we picked it up within 24 hours of our original reservation, the car would be held for us and no changes needed to be made for the reservation. However, when we arrived, with our young children who had just traveled by plane, the car had NOT been held for us and we'd been marked down as a "no show." When we told the agent at the desk (Alexandra Garcia in Boston) that we'd called ahead, she said we could pay extra for a more expensive car, but she took no responsibility for the problem and was incredibly rude. What a horribly disappointing experience.

bad for business lying manipulative employees will try not come back will post all my experience on social media they will try to sell you anything that is already included and you paid for. like electronic toll box on the front window.its there,installed,but they will lye to you and will try to sell it to you for 35 bucks.THE TOLLS ARE CHEAPER THEN THAT. and so on and on .....Manipulators.

The class of car reserved was not available. I was told to take a minivan which is something I did not need. I was then given another car which was ok except that the brakes were squeaking right through which made the safety questionable. The car i do not think was cleaned fully.

Pros:

Very easy pickup and drop off. They put me in a Kia Sedona that was in pretty good condition. It had Apple CarPlay which was a nice perk.

Cons:

This car rental company charges almost $10 a gallon! Make sure you fill up before drop off or you'll be stuck with a $100 dollar gas bill!

Pros:

The car was fine. The gentleman at the pick up desk was nice.

Cons:

There was only one person at the pick-up desk; it took thirty minutes to get finished with my paperwork and there had only been two people ahead of me. The car had not been refueled when I finally got to it.

Left iPad in glove compartment. When I returned to the car rental area the iPad hadn't been handed in to the manager or lost property after the car was cleaned which was disappointing. I couldn't check car myself as it had been rented out even though I had returned within 3 hours of having left the car back
