They claimed they did not have the size SUV we reserved available, yet there were a number of them sitting under "reserved" signs across the lot. They tried to give us a significantly smaller SUV saying that was all they had. In addition, the staff were rude and unhelpful. Three customer service people sat at their desks with no line at the lot while a line 20 people deep was upstairs. When I asked the "customer service" desk at the lot to add my Hertz gold info to my rental, they said I had to wait in line upstairs. This is not the first rude and unhelpful episode I've had at the Boston Hertz site. They made no effort to remedy the situation to find an SUV near the size of the Yukon we reserved. We left and had a great customer service experience at Dollar instead. This Hertz location consistently offers an appalling customer service experience.Reviewed 24 May 2023

The pick up was painful. It took 30 minutes of them trying to sell me extra stuff that I didn't need. The app didn't work so I was forced to talk with an agent to pick the car up. Someone smoked weed in the car so I had to go to Walmart and buy a de-odor sprayer to help. The car was clean and in perfect condition other than the smoke. When I arrived, the car I booked was not allowed to be received with the card I had paid with. Extreme rules that you can only rent with a debit card if you return to the same location and have an outbound flight ticket. But I booked a one way rental Boston to Albany, with a train ticket home. Shouldn't be allowed to rent with a card I won't be able to complete the trip with. Or needs to be EXTREMELY indicated. Very disruptive and disappointing part of the trip, I won't feel confident renting on Kayak again.Reviewed 6 Nov. 2022

My main complaint is lack of employees at counter. There were 2 agents working at the counter when I picked up my car. It took as long to get my rental car as it took to fly from Florida to Boston or it felt like it. I am a frequent tourist traveler and I am paying for my car not my company.
