Pros: Location was perfect

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious, the front desk and kitchen staff were very helpful, and the breakfast was good.
Cons: The side doors to access the buildings were locked at 10pm so you'd have to gain access with your key. However, sometimes a specific door would not open, and you'd have to walk around to find a door that responded, or walk all the way to the main entrance late at night. It was also very cold weather so this was a bit inconvenient.

Pros: I liked that you had restaurant options in the hotel. The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The drink machine on my floor was virtually empty. The Wi-Fi sucked. After going through the process to print a boarding pass, the printer cartridge obviously needed replacing. Most of the staff were mediocre, but I'm from the south, so maybe expecting people to smile and go above and beyond is asking too much.

7.5 Good
Cons: Room was not cleaned up during our stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff
Cons: N/a
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed and pillows were comfy. The TV hooked up to your phone. The hot tub and pool were fantastic!
Cons: The pool door handle came off when we tried to open the door. Which forced us to either travel outside in the freezing cold to get back to our room or travel through the lobby wet and cold, in front of guests eating and checking in. The shower knob got stuck on scolding hot and it took all my strength to get it to shut off. The pin that turns it to shower mode got stuck and wouldn't turn it to shower fully. Also the room wasn't finished being cleaned when we checked in, and we checked in after 3pm. The bathroom was also still slightly dirty. For the price of the room we wish there was complimentary breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What wasn’t there to like about this property! Ample parking and amenities, affordable price, spacious rooms and the balcony was just perfect enough to enjoy your morning coffee and some fresh air. They rooms were surprisingly big for a standard room! Had a Smart tv where I could even log into my Netflix account and continue to watch my favorite shows away from home! Our stay was effected by the beginning effects of the corona virus so the pool/jacuzzi was closed and the menu at the restaurant was limited but the staff was very apologetic and tried to accommodate as much as they could, after all there wasn’t much they could do. If your looking for cleanliness, comfortability, affordable prices and convenient location, then The Courtyard Marriott is exactly what you should book.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was very friendly, the food was good and it was very clean
Cons: The pool was out of order (big disappointment for my kids), the ice machine was broken and there was a hour long fire alarm

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, brunch, staff
Cons: Very uncomfortable bed and pillows........ no movie offerings
6.7 Good
Pros: This hotel is owned by Phillips Academy for visiting parents or school related personnel. Overall it was clean (not very clean) and comfortable. It’s purpose is to provide temporary housing for Phillips Academy. So it is not a Hilton or Marriott. By you do get a sense of the long history of Phillips Academy. It is a little expensive given the offerings, but for the people who can send their children to Phillips Academy money is not a concern. It’s restaurant was good. I enjoyed walking along the school grounds. The school has a tremendous history and their facility were outstanding. Many Andover locals come to eat at Samuel’s, hotel restaurant.
Cons: It was not as clean as it could be. The rug in the hallways was falling apart along the edges.
7.5 Good
Pros: Close to walk downtown

Pros: Staff was great.
Cons: The rooms would not get cool no matter how high you put the temp. on cool.

Pros: It is all about location, in addition to its being a top quality hotel. We can walk downtown to restaurants and coffee shops. The Addison Art Museum is right across from the Andover Inn, too!
Cons: My dinner at Samuel's could have been better...chicken dish was dry.
9.6 Excellent

Pros: The staff. Everyone from hotel staff to the restaurant staff were great and very helpful! The hotel smelled fresh and clean. I loved this hotel.
Cons: Only thing I wish that we had was a mini fridge but we did just fine without it.
6.3 Good
Pros: Close proximity to everything and lovely staff at check in
Cons: Had to change rooms due to lack of cleanliness - hairs on bathroom floor and in bed. Then in the second room same problem still!! Either cleaners aren’t wearing hair nets or the cleaning isn’t done well enough but the hairs on the bathroom floor were particularly concerning. Asides from that beautiful hotel but the cleanliness situation put a dampener on it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really happy with our stay . We stayed for 3 nights. 2 adults 1child . My child loved the pool .rooms were very nice with really nice toiletries Hotel was clean staff friendly and helpful what more can you ask for
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helpful front desk, and housekeeping kept our room spotless. The robes in our room were a nice touch.
6.8 Good
Pros: Christmas decor was gorgeous and there were Christmas cookies and hot cider offered on entering. The whole lobby smelled of cinnamon which I found charming. Bathrooms offered an extensive number of amenities and bottled water and robes. We mostly enjoyed the restaurant as well. Location was great, could walk to the Salem walking tour and many historic attractions.
Cons: Check in was very slow and an elevator was broken giving off a constant beeping. My sirloin was undercooked, even after sending it back twice and it took minutes and my announcing myself to be seated for breakfast even though there was only one other customer. But most disappointing was the way my young adult son was questioned when he came back into the hotel in the morning after making a trip to the car. He was making a cup of coffee and front desk staff approached him accusingly, asking him to verify his room number to assure he was indeed a guest. He was shocked and offended.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing. Loved the local shops and restaurants just a few hundred feet away. Downtown and many local sites within walking distance.
Cons: The bar drinks were too strong and not properly made. Bartender was very friendly, cheerful and attentive but her drinks were just awful. Just might need a bit of retraining and encouragement and she would be awesome.

Pros: The hotel itself was beautiful. It's located in the heart of Salem and immerses you in the town. It is also neat to stay at an historic location.

Pros: Quaint 1920s hotel remodeled decently. Nice ambiance. There's a letter drop at the elevator, two good restaurants in the lobby, and the staff are very helpful.
Cons: You cannot control the temperature in your room. The heat as a central system either on or off. Consequently, my room with broiling when I got there and had to open the window even though it was 10° outside. I have no idea how it is in the summertime. There are no refrigerators microwaves or anything like that easily available. The water that comes out of the faucet tastes funny and has a lot of sediment so the hotel gives you a bottle of water every day. I had to buy my own water though because that is not enough.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful
Cons: The bathroom was too drafty
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful historic hotel. Rooms a bit smaller than I would have imagined, but still very lovely. The bathrooms in room 316 tended to be very cold but if you leave the doors open the heat does eventually heat bathroom. Great staff and great restaurant.
Cons: Cold bathrooms.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The charm.
Cons: Bathroom was too small and heat control was not good.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I have never stayed at a historical hotel quite like this. The New England charm of it was just splendid and welcoming!
Cons: I imagined the room wasn't that small and it made it difficult to store luggage especially if we had more than 2 people.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent. One end of the Main Street, opposite the historical Witch House. Our two room suite was perfect size. Comfortable beds and very clean. The style was fairly neutral, I would say homely. It was quiet and easy to get a good night sleep. Breakfast was served in the basement breakfast room. It was help yourself with assistance for omelettes. Coffee was good with options for decaf, tea etc. Very friendly breakfast staff. All in all, very nice Parking was about 100yds. Short walk crossing road. This worked fine. Loads to see in Salem and is easy to find out about. Highlights were ‘Salem NIght Tour’ and House of seven gables. We also toured to Crane Beach, around 30 mins drive on backroads. Very nice and ideal to drop into Rockport on way back.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and ease of checking in.
Cons: 3rd floor with bad knees. More of a b&b. Priced high but for the location they get it and I Would to if I were them.

1.0 Poor
Cons: Staff couldn’t comprehend that I had three separate bookings for same type of room over 7 days and wished to stay in the same room. My request notifying the hotel of this through original booking on booking.com was not forwarded to the hotel. Staff demanded that I pay an extra $US 50 per night for ‘incidentals’ or use of room service, security deposit that was not able to paid in cash and as they have advised might take over a week to be returned to my account. I am staying for seven days. Other hotels, even doubletrees, do not insist on this. (There is no consumables/minibar in the room). It took about 10 minutes to provide me a receipt for this extra charge and that was a screen shot that the staff member then had to write the amount extra that had been deducted from my account in texta/felt tipped pen as this printout actually did not include the extra fee and no recognition that this would be returned or over what sort of time period. I had to argue the fact that breakfast had been included in original booking as well as the hotel did not have confirmation of this and tried to charge me an extra $US 16.00 per day. In using their small shop on the ground floor to buy drinks/snacks I then had to wait for about 5 minutes for the staff who had no idea how to provide a receipt. When they did this receipt showed the costs of my whole booking for that day and not the actual cost of what I had just purchased so I had to return to the checkin desk to go through the process again. I had specifically requested and confirmed through front desk that the room was not to be serviced daily as it is unnecessary to have towels etc changed so often. I still have the housekeeping staff knocking on the door every morning who are not aware of this. Bathroom sink is blocked.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: I didn’t get the room quality I am used to. I was over all very unimpressed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quietness
Cons: The water park not having towels the kids were freezing shaking crying because there was no clean towels and the agenthe girl that I spoke to in the front desk told me so go upstairs and get my towels from my room and then come back down I was disappointe
4.6 Okay
Pros: The pool
Cons: They keep charging my credit card twice!!! So disappointing, it’s over priced as is considering the breakfast isn’t free but now I’m stuck paying double???

Cons: Breakfast was awful, eggs inedible and soupy, not a lot of variety, all the drinks including coffee tasted like the cheap paper cups. Room smaller than expected, and bathroom was small and outdated.
6.0 Good
Pros: Like the room layout and the comfort of the bed.
Cons: The water never got hot. It was like warm the room was warmer than the water. I spoke to the manager more than once about how cold the water was. They also said they were fixing it. Yet still no change just cold water.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The free breakfast until 10:30 AM
Cons: I was told I was getting a king suite but I got a queen. They took a $100 deposit and I did not get reimbursed until 4 days later.

Cons: DOnt like it dont have a pool
5.0 Okay
Pros: The front desk employees were very nice.
Cons: Upon arrival at 11:15pm, I learned they had no electricity or heat. Since it was 6 degrees outside, I could not stay there. I understand that things happen. They were nice about cancelling but a phone call in advance would have been better.

Pros: Nice and clean
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is convenient. The complimentary breakfast is okay with a better selection than most hotels that offer this amenity.
Cons: The bathroom in my room did not.have grab bars or anti skid in the tub and I did slip and fall. This is a pet friendly hotel and the condition of the furniture in the rooms proves there were furries present. Got sick and tired of all the pot smoking.

Pros: Great room. Staff was awesome
Cons: I am a little upset with how long it takes to get the 50$ gold given back to me. I am not sure if it is my bank or the hotel.
