10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a wonderful hotel! Our room was extremely clean and comfortable and stylishly furnished. The common areas were perfect with comfortable couches. There is even a fridge you can use and cookies out for everyone! The owner is so unbelievably nice and helped us out so much - answering all of our questions and helping us choose great restaurants and things to do! It is in a perfect location, just steps away from the Papal Palace. We absolutely loved this hotel and will definitely stay there any time we are in Avignon!
Cons: Nothing - it is a fabulous hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were amazing! Central location to town and quite the experience!
5.0 Okay
Pros: A fresh breakfast was served
Cons: We got a tiny and dark room for two nights. The room looks like a cave room and had a very small window. We felt like staying in an prison. The way described at their website and the photos did not come across to us that we are getting such a bad room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about La Banesterie, including the location and neighborhood/proximity to center of historic district, warm hospitality, helpfulness, quality of facility and extra special touches, furnishings, homemade breakfast, honor bar, A/C...everything!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our host Veronique was extremely charming and very helpful with recommendations, maps and made a dinner reservation for us. The bed was very comfortable and the aircon a welcome relief during the recent heatwave!
Cons: We would have preferred a full shower rather than the hand-held version over the bath but realise how difficult that would be in such an ancient historical building.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Design, fantastic host
Cons: Accessibility by car was not good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect central location for sightseeing. Breakfasts absolutely delicious and catered for my gluten free needs very well. All the team very helpful particularly with restaurant suggestions and bookings.
9.5 Excellent

Les Jardins de la Livrée - Avignon - Bedroom
2
9.2 Excellent (178 reviews)
C$ 155+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Les Jardins de la Livrée in Villeneuve-les-Avignon, you'll be in the historical district, within a 10-minute walk of Fort St-Andre and Tour Philippe le Bel. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room, tastefully decorated, with garden view. Great pool and terrace in a pretty, calm garden. Lots of great restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location with a beautiful walled garden and pool
Cons: Nothing ! it was perfect . The staff were extremely friendly and helpful too!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A very nicely renovated small hotel with a lovely terrace and good restaurant. The room was very spacious and comfortable with an excellent bed and lovely large bathroom. The terrace by the (small but pleasant) pool was a lovely spot for dinner and cocktails. The dinner experience was also very pleasant with good food and nice wine.
Cons: The 'service atmosphere' was a little odd. It was unclear if there was any service - e.g. drinks, outside of formal 'dining hours' and not all requests seemed to be welcomed. There was a very friendly chap who was the one who checked us in and he was always very attentive and smiley, he was comfortable to be around and genuinely seemed to want to help. We got the impression he was employed to help the owners. The challenge was the other people didn't seem as friendly or welcoming on a few occasions - one small odd example being when I needed some sellotape and when the helpful guy opened the drawer to look I even saw it there but the other man (the chef/owner?) shut the drawer and said we don't have any! It seemed a bit bizarre and left us with the feeling we were glad to go. Which was a shame as really the room, the setting, the dinner etc were all excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed at Les Jardins many times, and they continue to update and improve the property. This time we were lucky enough to stay in one of the re-furbished bedrooms - which was lovely.
Cons: Nothing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Have the pool and peaceful garden was wonderful! The location was great.
Cons: The room and bed wasn’t made up and cleaned very well. The pillows were not comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very solicitous host who was keen to make sure we were happy.
Cons: Nothing to report.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jean Paul was a wonderful host. The rooms are very pretty, and overlook the garden which has a lovely swimming pool and fruit trees. The restaurant was closed on the nights we were there but the breakfast was really good. A nice jug of coffee, some homemade apricot jam, fresh croissants, cheese and bread. There is parking in the hotel, and the location is great, just a few moments walk from the centre of the village and the historic sites.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was superb.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Inn was beautiful and has an excellent location. Our room was big and very comfortable. Bathroom was very spacious and the shower was excellent. The breakfast was delicious-very typical (croissants, mermelades, cheese and yogurt) served in the beautiful terrace with grapevines and pool view. Service was outstanding, Jean was very polite and friendly. Will stay again without any hesitation!!!
Cons: Nothing!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located in the historic area it had great access to restaurants
Cons: Our gps had difficulty with the one way streets and the location was difficult to find
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Most comfortable place, great location, friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended !!!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great Location
Cons: Even though they have an elevator we had 1 more flight of stairs at the top floor, Lots of Stairs in Europe... Healthy but should have packed lighter...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Great staff.
Cons: Would have appreciated a heads up from the property about the road closures for the festival that prevented us from driving directly to the hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic - on the Main Street - easily accessible from the Central Railway Station, and close to the historic core of Avignon. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby - ATMs in the Bank across the road.
Cons: It was very hot when we were in Avignon - a small refrigerator in the room would have enabled us to have cool drinks on hand!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Center locates 2 big single beds
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and helpful staff
Cons: Cleanliness was fair. No tissues. No easy access to a cup of coffee in AM. Small precarious elevator to service 4 floors.

Pros: Graciously kind and accommodating staff at the front desk; perfect location; good value for the price we paid for the night. We would have booked more than the one night, had it been available

Cons: The table is pretty small and if there is one more layer that will be better.

Pros: Friendly staff, superb breakfast, a very clean and well appointed room, fabulous location in the centre of Avignon, but not too noisy.
Cons: Nothing at all

Garlande Hotel Avignon Centre - Avignon - Building
4
9.0 Excellent (569 reviews)
C$ 122+
Overview Reviews
Garlande Hotel Avignon Centre is centrally located in Avignon, a 3-minute walk from Place de l'Horloge and 5 minutes by foot from Collection Lambert. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, the room was extremely clean & comfortable, and the staff, notably Emmanuelle and Axelle, went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect vacation. I thank Emmanuelle for insisting that I get to know present-day Provence, in addition to the Provence of the Romans.
Cons: The stairs were a bit steep, especially when one is carrying luggage. But this is a minor point.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at the Garlande Hotel, which was in a great location being close to shops and restaurants, however being relatively quiet as well. We arrived at a time when reception was closed but were given an entry code where we could gain access to leave our cases so this was fabulous. The staff member on hotel reception was simply wonderful. She was so efficient, helpful and pleasant to deal with and to speak to, which really made our stay here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts and good information to go sight seeing in a short period of time! Great breakfast with letting them know my dietary needs of being lactose intolerant and provided soy milk for the granola cereal and coffee. Wide arrange of pastries which are home made and providing meat and cheese. Beds were comfy and room was quiet.
Cons: A little tricky finding the parking structure and rolling bags across cobblestone streets but one can’t expect a lot more with having a hotel room within a walled city. TIP: Enter the parking structure from the NE entrance of the walled city.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in the centre of the old town. Delicious breakfast with home made items which made for a cosy feel. Super staff from the bilingual owner to the cleaner to the student assistant helping out over the weekend. Comfortable beds. Separate toilet. Quiet location.
Cons: Storage space a bit limited but manageable. Steep steps which made moving luggage difficult although help is offered. If mobility is reduced, request one of the ground floor rooms which are perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location Excellent breakfast Wonderful staff
Cons: Rooms have narrow stairs - might be tough for some to navigated
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Professional staff and great location. Very accommodating for luggage and suggestions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff (all family) that was eager to help travelers out and give them ideas on places to eat, things to see/do (even elsewhere in Provence outside of Avignon!). Clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful (homemade) breakfast. Great location near the heart of the old town, but also close enough to a major street to make travel to/from the TGV station easy. Couldn't think of a better place to stay in Avignon.
Cons: Rooms are small and the view from the room wasn't great, but you're located on a narrow street in the heart of the old town in a building several hundred years old, so not really anything unexpected. These hardly detract.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, very clean and comfortable and the location was perfect. Right in the historic district a short walk to everything. The young woman at reception was extremely helpful and pleasant. Parking was in a parking garage, but it was only a short walk to the hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the old town near lots of restaurants and shops. Owner gave us great advice regarding towns to visit. We took the train to Nimes one day and Arles the next. Air conditioning worked great. Our room was very spacious for the 3 of us. We each had our own bed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Hôtel Garlande is a very nice hotel, centrally located in Avignon and the staff were amazing. Every member from Stephanie to Emmanuelle to the housekeeper were helpful, courteous and friendly. As stated there is no lift/elevator and that is likely the one semi-negative. That and their Wi-Fi can be kind of wonky to operate. HOWEVER, don't let those stop you from staying! The only other piece of advice I would offer is to avoid room #10. It is right by the front door and we know from speaking to another guest that, that is a problem due to the noise both from the door and outside the hotel. Go and stay at Hôtel Garlande!
Cons: They could use a better Wi-Fi and a lift/elevator, but given the age of the building, I get why both are problematic.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely small hotel with excellent staff and beautiful interior. Definitely worth a stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the location as it was only near the train station and restaurants, and just enough distance from the tourist attractions so it was not noisy and crowded. It was situated in a small street; You can see from the corner of Rue Agricol Perdiguier, there is a sign of where the hotel is so it can be easily located. There were two small dogs who greeted me at the entrance and I love seeing them, as they were friendly. This is only a warning though for those who may not like dogs or have allergies. Nonetheless, I love the place and I recommend this to anyone.
Cons: none
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great characterful hotel with Bonnie the dog!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Interesting arty boutique hotel... quirkily French. Breakfast wonderful... delicious coffee, croissants and more. Patrice most helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: On the hottest day of the year, 43 degrees, we were thankful that the hotel was only around 5 minutes walk from Avignon Centre station. Its also just off the main street, leading to the Palace of the Papes and Le Pont St Benezet. Air conditioning thankfully was excellent. Reception was very helpful in giving us advice. Breakfast was served individually and was fine.
Cons: Lack of a fridge in the room, but it is a 2 star hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bedroom was huge was by European standards! Beds were very comfortable.
Cons: The lovely garden & sitting area were closed to guests after 7pm. We would have enjoyed them after returning from dinner. We also found it to be a very modest breakfast compared with other hotels on this trip that charged the same price. It was nicely presented though.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location - size of bed
Cons: A lot of steps to get up to first floor we were on with our suitcase it had 3 floors so if you were in second or third floor would be a struggle. No iron on premise at all
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. Helpful owner
Cons: Spiral staircase.
7.0 Good
Pros: Artistic independent boutique style
Cons: Polystyrene ceiling tiles in the bedrooms
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful little hotel central to our needs.
Cons: No iron in room and stairs were a little difficult with luggage
Hôtel Le Magnan - Avignon - Building
6
8.8 Excellent (1,074 reviews)
C$ 98+
Overview Reviews
Hotel Le Magnan is a small boutique hotel located in the heart of the ramparts of the historic city of Avignon, which honors Provencal lifestyle and friendliness. Push the door ... We offer you 30 fully equipped conditioned rooms, most with views of the garden, a lovely patio where you can enjoy a moment of relaxation after a day of sightseeing or business or enjoy a little there lunch on sunny days. Our concern is the quality of the stay that you will spend in Avignon. From the hotel, you can stroll along the canal in the picturesque "rue des teinturiers" (street of dyers) and following the streets of old Avignon, you'll reach on foot the Papal Palace.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room with air conditioning was appreciated. The rooms were clean and had a great view onto the garden area. Staff was helpful and we were able to check in early. Breakfast was also pleasant.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Other than the issue mentioned before, the place was comfortable, clean, and the rest of staff friendly.
Cons: Had booked two rooms -for us and another couple-, but our friends had to call off their trip in the last minute. We were aware beforehand of the no refund policy, but found the attitude of who was at reception during the check in & out rather unethical, as she was eager to hire the room again after we had already paid for it. So, for the hotel it was one room for the price of two. Again, we already knew the policy, but it still didn't feel all that honest. Next time we might as well keep quiet and have both rooms for ourselves, or just offer it to someone for free!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very clean, can provide parking place.
Cons: small room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: nice interior garden, good location, helpful reception
Cons: parking needs extra pay for overnight; room door and furniture needs repair
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfasts in garden courtyard.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location for access from station and into heart of historic good choice for city
9.5 Excellent
Pros: What made this hotel special was the staff and the unexpected touches like the artwork and the lovely garden. The parking provided by the hotel (you need to book in advance) was simple. The room didn't have a refrigerator, but the staff let me use the refrigerator in the kitchen to chill my white wine. I can't say enough about the staff. Our phone charger fried and they let us borrow one. The breakfast was affordable and very good. The location was was within walking distance of a lively street with many restaurants. Loved our stay here.
Cons: Liked everything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Charming staff, lovely courtyard garden for wine in the evening.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic ac much appreciated in this summer heat
Cons: If only it had a lift! We r not young any more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely courtyard to sit and eat breakfast, which was delicious. Nice choice of food for breakfast.

Pros: Great location and everyone was so kind and attentive to our questions. They even gave us directions to a laundry!
Cons: One step down to go into the bathroom in middle of night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff, we arrived during the heatwave at over 40'C but air-con coped fine and the room was comfortable. Fantastic location in the center of Avignon. Our room faced the square and we didn't have any problems with any noise. Getting to the hotel from the TGV station was straight-forward using public transport and a short walk.
Cons: We couldn't get any English channels on the TV, but we didn't go to Avignon to watch the television so it wasn't a problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and AC given the heat
Cons: Rooms a little small but that is common in Europe
6.8 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The rooms were very small
8.8 Excellent
Pros: it is all about location! nice hotel in the city center. brand new and quite big bathroom was a plus
Cons: there was no lift to get to the room. to get promised car park discount don't forget the invoice. otherwise you will pay full price as I did
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location that was convenient to seeing the sites, dining and shopping. And it was surprisingly very quiet at night!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Rooms are small but very clean an comfortable. Parking Palais des Papes is 5 minutes away. No possibility to park close to the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location cannot be beat. The main reason to visit Avignon is to be in the old town and this is in the center of everything. The room was clean with it's own bathroom.
Cons: Since the hotel is in the old town, parking was confusing.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very good location
Cons: The building was old and not that clean
Hotel Restaurant La Ferme - Avignon - Building

8.5 Excellent (968 reviews)
C$ 121+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Restaurant La Ferme in Avignon, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Tour Philippe le Bel and Pont Saint-Bénézet. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The lady running the place was excellent and helped us enjoy the area.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a very old farm house converted into a boutique hotel. The staff were very nice and helpful. They good naturedly appreciated my inquiries in less than perfect French. The hotel has a very French rural and rustic feel to it, but is only a five minute drive to the centre of old Avignon and a relatively easy drive to parts nearby in Provence. The property has a very nice swimming pool for when you need to cool off, after a long hot day of touring. The romantic open air restaurant, under a natural vine canopy, has a very good chef with a reasonably priced menu. There is lots of free, secure, parking. There are many walking and cycling trails nearby.
Cons: The breakfast offered each morning has only a fair selection of items, for the price of 14 euros. We had to ask for some bathroom items one day (we stayed 7 nights). Our shower was tiny, but the bathroom fixtures were of quality. The gardens, while very pretty is some areas of the property, needed some upkeep in others.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool and surrounding area was very nice, creating a feeling of calmness. I could stay there all day, in the grass, under a tree. The restaurant and breakfast area outside was also marvellous, creating a countryside feeling. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was rather small but clean and appropriate.
Cons: A limited WiFi connection (no connection around the swimming pool), and very slow (it was difficult to properly watch a youtube video for instance, even in my room or in the reception area). The breakfast buffet was sufficient but rather limited for its price, 14 Euro.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is absolutely wonderful and amazing to feel the whole “la provence” experience. The room was excellent, please have dinner at the property. The food is delicious, the waitresses are charming and the time spent under the tree with lights while you eat and drink some wine is fantastic. At las but not least I want to mention Natalie who is the owner. She is charming and warm. The hotel by itself is 50% of the experience and she is the other 50%. She is someone worth of meeting. I would love to come back for more days!
Cons: The moment I arrived there was no one to help me take my luggage up the stairs, so I did it myself, but not a real problem!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Excellent parking. Easy to drive to the Avignon parking lot. Very nice pool area. Owner very nice and friendly. Very comfortable room. Recommend the second floor.
7.5 Good
Cons: The restaurant on the ground floor becomes a bit noisy at night
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is quite convenient for a spot outside the old city. Very easy to access a carpark and being able to be in the center of Avignon in 15 min. Swimming pool is very relaxing and food is very good.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The Hotel Restaurant was fabulous. The staff were excellent and checking in and out was easy. It was also relatively easy to find the hotel.
Cons: The room was tiny and very dated and dark - looking onto a small courtyard and the car park (which meant we were woken often by cars coming and going). I thought the rates were too high for the quality of the accommodation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very hot so good to have AC and the pool
Cons: It was all great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated in a quiet rural area just outside Avignon. Very nice facilities. Evening meal was a representation of the regional fare including our first foie gras tasting. An evening and stay to remember. The host was so helpful regarding our planned trip to visit Avignon the next day.
Cons: N/A
Hôtel Boquier - Avignon - Building

Overview Reviews
Located in Avignon (Avignon City Centre), Hôtel Boquier is within a 15-minute walk of Place de l'Horloge and Palais des Papes. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a safe deposit box at the front desk.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The manager was very helpful and gave lots of good tips about things to do, where to go and eat good, where to explore parts of the inner town of Avignon. Very accommodating and kind at all times. We felt very welcomed. Our room was very private and quiet.
Cons: As convenient as this hotel is in terms of location, the steep stairs up to the rooms will be a challenge to everybody who has got knee issues or other health problems preventing a quick work out. During mosquito season be prepared of these little buzzers sharing the room with you, if you like to sleep with the windows open.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bedrooms were clean, charming and comfortable and blissfully air-conditioned in the midst of a heat wave. The proprietor was incredibly nice and very helpful with suggestions for where to go and what to do in town.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location is great, walking distance to attractions
Cons: Bathroom was very small with just a sliding door that separates it from the main room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Owner/Staff are friendly and being promptly helpful. Hotel is old but very clean, 6 min walk to central station and right in the central of old, beautiful historical city. Many good restaurants
Cons: room seems have no privacy since it has 2 windows without curtain
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean. Though our room was tiny and had a low ceiling, which got us all bump our head once or twice, the room itself has exceeded even rooms from some 3-star hotels rooms we stayed in from the past.
6.3 Good
Cons: Small in room area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the hotel was very welcoming. He quickly explained the layout of the city and recommended what to see and where better restaurants could be found. It was record heat in Provence and the AC in our room was excellent! We were very comfortable and the location was ideal, close to the city train station.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, made me feel at home.
Cons: Better lighting when you get in the hallway. Light only comes on halfway through.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Probably the first hotel from the train station but unlike other cities it’s in a safe area (it’s within the walls), but far enough from the touristy sites so you feel like you’re in a community. Tourist office was around the corner. Good gym also not far for a daily rate (I was there a while and usually work out a lot lol.) I had one of the only two unrenovated rooms but it was totally fine with a great shower, big bathroom and even a little patio. Owner was super nice and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.
Cons: Just a tiny quibble: Breakfast was a little lacking for the price but to be honest it was cheaper than eating elsewhere nearby. Boiled eggs (protein not just carbs!) made up for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good clean room, effective air conditioning, helpful advice especially how to get to Pont du Gard by local bus. Location perfect, close to station and office of tourism.
Cons: Lack of mosquito netting on windows.

Overview Reviews
Located in Avignon (Avignon City Centre), Hôtel Les Corps Saints is within a 15-minute walk of Place de l'Horloge and Palais des Papes. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was very convenient and close to the bus station. We had a comfortable room with white linen on the bed. It was close to restaurants and the main sights. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good, as described. Room was clean and relatively large.
Cons: NO lift and spiral stairs were covered in dirty old carpet. Manager carried our bags up to room, bonus! Bathroom was ancient with door not closing properly, shower head falling off, very compact. Doors to other rooms seemed to be very difficult to unlock, very noisy when right next to your bed. Air con worked okay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: lovely, kind service
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Having a little refrigerator in the room was really nice. Very well situated hotel, in the centre of town but quiet. Friendly staff. The room was small as is often the case in small non-chain hotels in Europe but I had everything I needed, was very comfortable and felt safe coming and going. Short walk from the train station.
Cons: Everything was fine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: largest room I've had in weeks! pot to heat water for coffee/tea large shower good breakfast good location chair with a back!
Cons: no shades or curtains over windows no fridge in room to chill water on very hot days

Pros: I really like the location of the property. Even more so during the heatwave so I can come back to the hotel anytime I feel tired and go out again. It is also located close to a very nice park and the tourist office.
Cons: Please be aware that there is no elevator in this hotel. It was a little difficult for me to bring my bags to my room on the 3rd floor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff giving us a good overview of the city and places to go. Small but comfortable room. The hotel is centrally located.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The very helpful staff and location
Cons: The stair carpet
6.8 Good
Pros: 1. Overall just average. 2. Near to train station. 3. Breakfast is not bad. French bread is always good :). Fixed breakfast set is served, if u prefer buffet, additional price is charged.
Cons: 1. No lift upstairs. Had to carry our heavy loads up ourselves. Not convenient for old folks. 2. The hotel rooms all share the same key. A stranger stayed in the next room opened my room with her key. This is scary and unsafe. 3. Toilet is very small, suitable for small Asian size.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very central and excellent for a 2 star property
Cons: Avignon very busy due to festival also heat wave Neither the fault of the hotel

Cons: Room was a good size
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, really friendly staff, very clean comfortable room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Le Medieval is located in the historic medieval Centre Ville of Avignon. The location is great! A short walk to our main reason for coming to Avignon, Le Palais du Pape. The hotel is located on a narrow one-way street. However the staff were very helpful and accommodating keeping our luggage while we went to park in the pay-for Parking garage a few blocks away. The hotel provides a discount (paid receipt/hotel stay) for parking at the garage. The staff were very friendly and helpful providing directions to local sights & restaurants. We were able to leave our luggage in a secured room near the reception area while we finished our sightseeing following check-out. The room and private bathroom were comfortable and air-conditioned ( a welcome bonus during the heat wave that hit France this summer). The Continental breakfast was good and convenient.
Cons: We missed having a lift. But it is a hotel within the medieval city, so space is at a premium. Zero street parking. Unloading our luggage was a bit tricky. Luckily there was an area before turning onto the hotel street where we could temporarily park (stand) while the other unloaded the luggage and took them into the hotel. It is very difficult to leave the car running while unloading in front of the hotel as the street has a lot of movement.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing and I love the feel of the old world hotel. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.
Cons: The beds were very hard and shower was a little small and hard to access if you are an older or larger person
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location and helpful staff who gave direction for major sights and restaurants to dine and for getting reduced parking rate as hotel guest at the parking nearby. Interesting area to explore and major sights are nearby. We had a room with a view of the courtyard.
Cons: No elevator so it is quite challenging to bring huge luggage. The window unit air conditioner may require ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Street is one way and narrow as expected of medieval town and require skilful driving. We return late after dinner and was getting lost a few times as the lanes could be confusing at night when shops are closed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff, the location is excellent (5 minutes by walk far from Palais des Papes). We travelled by car and the hotel has a convention with a parking structure, so we obtained a discount.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: limited understanding of English
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and decor
Cons: No parking, although parking available nearby
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very friendly and helpful staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic right in the middle of the city wall & the Avignon Festival, fortuitously on at the time of our stay. Very helpful front desk staff both in hotel matters and beyond. Air Con was great given the heat wave conditions we were in. Beds were really comfortable. The fridge was a lifesaver for cold drinks after coming in at all hours. Secure front entry. The room was spacious compared to many we stayed in on our month long trip!

Pros: Very charming hotel. We loved our duplex room with access to a lovely little open yard. We had everything we needed. Perfect that the whole hotel inclusive the terrasse are smoke free! That way you can keep doors and windows opened without getting choked. Very good location, walking distance to shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. Highly recommended.
Cons: The ventilation in the room, a bit humid.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was very good, everything was walking distance. The hotel facilities were very good, included the breakfast.
6.3 Good
Pros: - close to the city center of Avignon; - clean place with air conditioning.
Cons: - small room with no space for luggage; - WiFi didn't work properly, only in the morning; - rude staff: Sabine shouted at me over the phone and wanted to hang up without having our conversation finished; - no parking available (even if it is in the propriety description) - a parking close to the location was recommended but it wasn't accessible/closed; - arrival fee after 8 PM, 50 EURO. (for a more flexible schedule, i would recommend to book a hotel); - nobody present at the reception on arrival: had to wait 5' and if I was to arrive at 20:05, I was supposed to pay a fee; - nobody introduced the facilities of the location and the possibility of having breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Sabine was delightful. Rang on the mobile when we were within an hour of our arrival to make sure we knew which gate to use to enter Avignon as there were major road works. Right in the centre with car parking in Les Halles only 1 minute away. Clean and bright room with fridge and cooker. Could easily do simple self catering. Plenty of storage. Very convenient. Sabine spike very good English.
Cons: Shower on the small side and kept getting wrapped up in the wet curtain!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We admired this beautifully refurbished historic building in the historic heart of Avignon. Our room was especially comfortable once the air conditioning was set to "cooling".
10.0 Excellent

Cons: The bed was not the comfortable. There were spiderwebs all over. Needed to be dusted more thoroughly. Toilet seat is missing a screw and was very wonky

Pros: The hosts were amazing, the boat was lovely to relax on. The breakfast was great. Their is a shuttle ferry at the end of the road that was really useful. Their pet dog was lovely too.
Cons: It would be nice to have had cooking facilities so we were able to cook our own meals at night. The walk was pretty far to the shuttle ferry, however we could have rented bikes to make it a little easier.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted by the owner, extremely nice and showed us everything we needed to know. We rented the whole house for our family. It is right on the city center so extremely easy to go everywhere walking. Every room has a bathroom so it was perfect. The kitchen and terrace is big and comfortable for large groups. Absolutely recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, 10 minutes to Palais Des Papes, 15 to Pont D'Avignon. Close to several bars and restaurants, very comfortable and clean, private terrace overlookibg gardens and friendly staff. Garage available for our car.
Cons: Only concern was with the door lock, very difficult to open and close, needed a new barrel.
5.5 Okay
Cons: Everything was old, mould on the bathroom window, spider nets in the garage.... They ask you to put the garbage in the bins on the street , 50 meters from the location..,,
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Secure garage parking within property is great. Location is super.
Cons: Was meant to have breakfasts included but that did not happen. There was jam and coffee provided. Kitchen and terrace (which was fine) is shared with other guests.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location and tge host was very nice
Cons: There could have been a curtain on the shower! Also they could have included more towels!
7.5 Good
Pros: It is a clean apartment with a good location, it close to main city attractions. It has a beautiful shared terrace and facilities to do your breakfast in the common kitchen by the terrace.
Cons: The air-conditioner didn´t work properly, we took the advice to keep it in 24C but even like that the air-conditioner was dropping water and flooding the entrance door. The private parking needs better arrangement because the cars block the exit when there are more than two cars.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hostess, clean and air conditioned.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Old building has character.
Cons: No lift, steep stairs. Very nice kitchen/living space with excellent equipment and TV - but shared with other visitors, so you need to be willing to share your table and relaxation time with strangers! No obvious fire escape - did not feel very safe.

Pros: Great location, very pleasant host, free parking.
Cons: WIFI was very weak; essentially unusable.

Pros: Great location and love parking as just drop off car and parked until needed by staff . Fabulous location as right on edge of restaurants and shopping etc . Staff always friendly . Bed and room excellent 4 th stay at this hotel .
Cons: Wifi was a bit hit and miss !!!
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: None
Cons: We found bedbugs on the bed! My girlfriend got bitten and I found one crawling on my bed. We reported to the receptionist and showed her the photos I took of the bedbugs in the morning, she didn't seem fazed or bothered to apologize. I saw her made a call and that was it. We paid 352 euro for one night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: My brother and I stayed here for one night. The purpose of our stay was to see the sights of Avignon and experience some culture. The hotel was merely a place for us to sleep, freshen up and recharge. So, we weren't looking for anything fancy. In many ways, it met our needs, for example, the A/C was fine and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom had everything we needed to freshen up and the staff were attentive. The breakfast was important for us as we like a big breakfast in the morning before we head off. This breakfast was a decent sized continental one with some hot food like scrambled eggs and sausages. Grand for the average person I think. The area the hotel is situated in has plenty of restaurants next door and quaint cafes, its basically in the hub of the nightlife area but it's pretty far from the main sights of Avignon. It can take up to a 20 min walk to get to the Palace, Cathedral and gardens which we didn't mind but others might.
Cons: Had to pay for parking at this hotel which from my memory is not stated when we booked. There is also a kind of curfew at the hotel after 11 pm which means if you come back a little late you have to knock or ring the doorbell to get in which can be a little annoying.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location is good, it is inside the city walls.
Cons: Room had a strange smell and water pressure was low. Room wasn't clean (especially carpet). Bathroom wasn't like on pictures, it was dated. On booking it's written that there is a private parking that costs 16 €, and we were in a public parking that costed 21 €. Hotel stuff sent us on that parking without saying about the price and we sent them message in advance that we are coming with the car.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and location were good
Cons: Unfortunately A/C in our room was deficient at best. Had to open door to hall to get a bit of cool
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location great
Cons: Early morning staff lady exhibited all the characteristics of a true Paris France hospitality worker stuck in Avignon ...not helpful
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rooms recently refurbished, had a nice view of a church from my window. Good lighting, wasn't crazy about the hairdryer (but that's me), room was very good size
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service, location, flexibility, breakfast, valet parking.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: They were helpful when we asked to change our room
Cons: The air conditioning was noisy

Pros: Location is satisfactory level because it takes just 5-10 minutes to the city by taxi. Other than that, staff and the facility are very nice. I stayed here for two nights for visiting Provence (Gordes/Sault/Valensole/Verdon/etc.) and could easily access there by car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gated/secure free parking, friendly staff, very clean rooms, comfy beds, perfect for business guests. Stayed here with my family of five. Kids loved the pool. Wife and I love the cleanliness of the rooms. Place is in a great location. Close enough to Avignon center, but far enough away to be quite and allow for free and secure car parking. Business travels note: I needed to use a computer to remote connect back to USA. Staff prepared a back office computer which allowed me to conduct business remotely. Excellent hotel for business guests, staff went over and above to facilitate my business needs.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely garden, pool and friendly staff
Cons: All good
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - Large, comfortable, modern rooms - Large outdoor pool and gardens area. Beautiful facilities overall. - Helpful, friendly staff - Short car ride (or possibly walk) from Gare TGV
Cons: - We chose the location because of its proximity to the TGV station for an early train the next day, so this did not affect us, but be aware that the hotel is not quite walkable to the Gare TGV (at least with bags), and if you want to use this as a base for exploring Avignon, be ready for long waits for Ubers or taxis, or very long walks, as it is not close to the city center.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great pool
Cons: Sauna is only open 5-9pm
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was good as it was easy to get into town and we also caught the bus to St Remy - 57 - at the Schumann stop just outside too. A timetable is available from the tourist info office. Staff are no help at all in respect to tourist info. They didn't even know which side of the road we should catch the bus to St Remy.
Cons: Staff could have some tourism knowledge because clearly tourists do stay there. There was a lack of sun loungers around the pool. The pillows were dreadful as have been all those in France. They look nice and plump but as soon as you put your head on it sinks to the mattress. I got around this by putting a cushion under the pillow.
4.3 Okay
Pros: A nice garden with small piscine.
Cons: Far too expensive for the quality of services and the size of the rooms. Situated in a not so peaceful neighborhood. A car burned just outside the garden while we were having dinner! The personnel very cold and unfriendly but for the German and local people. Only one waiter was the exception.
6.3 Good
Pros: Quiet location with some pleasant facilities
Cons: Really quite a long walk from the city with little else to do locally - nowhere to eat other than the hotel for example
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pool area
Cons: Carpet
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Out of the way and very safe
Cons: N/A
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and confortable hotel with a swimming pool surrounded by a beautiful garden. Avignon city centre is easily reachable by bus. Good breakfast. Very friendly staff and hotel owners
Cons: Nothing really.

Pros: Central, clean, easy check-in/out
Cons: The elevator only serves certain floors, be prepared to carry your luggage for extra steps up. Breakfast overpriced, rather have breakfast at any of the terraces in the square in front
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located and great atmosphere
5.7 Okay
Pros: Close to major sights. On main town square. Ready access to cafes.
Cons: Too much road noise at night and in am. Mattress needed replacing badly.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff
Cons: Tiny room, tiny bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was well located in the city center and only a few minutes from the Palais du Papes. We had the traditional room which was just big enough for us considering we had two fairly large suitcases. The staff were very nice helping us book a restaurant our first night when we arrived lateish and booking a taxi for our departure. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Room could have been a bit more spacious. Did have to negotiate (with heavy bags) some stairs inside the hotel as lift doesn't serve every floor...understandable as it's an older building.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location . Nice staff.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic.
Cons: The room was hot and stuffy all night, even with AC on, and the AC had a loud rattle.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is centrally located right on the plaza and very near the Palace of the Popes. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a library where we could meet and hang out with our friends (there was an unusual heat wave when we traveled there). Buffet breakfast is available onsite, which was very good (although a little pricey). There are complimentary pastries in the lobby every afternoon.
Cons: It's a peculiar layout for a hotel, with zigs and zags of hallways. There are occasional steps to catch you off guard if you're not paying attention (like the one directly outside of our room that I forgot about and almost fell). Our friends' room had a funky, musty smell and they asked to be moved to another room, which was a little better. (There was a slight musky smell throughout the hotel.) The rooms were typical European hotel rooms; small with little storage (no dresser and a small closet) and no where to put your suitcase. I prefer to be able to unpack as soon as I reach my room, but couldn't do that here.
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff, breakfast and location
Cons: Room was very small and the AC was terrible. They gave us a fan but the room remained muggy and warm. They said it was because it was so hot but they have been getting poor reviews for the AC all along. We paid for two nights and left after one. The desk did offer to give us a bigger room but we switched to a hotel with working ac
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is great, as is the staff. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: The bathroom was too small. Nowhere to place anything. No shower curtain, entire bathroom was wet with open shower. I would not use the shower.

Pros: My partner was taken ill our second night in Avignon, and was unable to travel as scheduled. Even with the busy Festival, the staff have been excellent, letting him rest and taking care of taxis and such. Merci mille fois.
Cons: Some of the noise from the street performers echoed around the back of the hotel—very annoying. Quiet after sunset, though.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: good location!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: Very poor room poor hotel services for example room service bar and restaurant non existent. Very poor given the star rating and associated hotel tariffs
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: In the heart of the city, so lively! A few steps and you have a great choice of restaurants, one better than the other. The room a bit small but with a charming balcony and a nice rain shower. Very kind and smiling staff who go the extra mile to help. Good quality breakfast buffet, with a lot of choice, even regional specialities and freshly pressed orange juice. All in all, a great stay.
Cons: Old carpet. The entrance of the hotel would do with a bit of TLC to make it more welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is beside Palais des Papes. Stunning location. Breakfast was excellent. Room was spacious and had good facilities including a fridge.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was great and everything was clean
Cons: Price based on the service given and the room equipments is way too much
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had an excellent night’s sleep Breakfast was excellent, especially the omelette, but the croissants could have been a bit more flaky. Both the tea and coffee were excellent even though the “ristretto” was already taken
Cons: See above re the croissants
8.0 Excellent
Pros: There is not a single hotel closer to the Palais des Papes (Popes' Palace). The location was spectacular. Also, many of the reviews claimed how small the rooms were, so I was pleasantly surprised when ours was comfortable and spacious.
Cons: The lobby always felt chaotic. I wanted to ask the staff questions, but there was always a line of people and they always felt uncomfortably busy.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing on the corner of the central town square in the centre of everything. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was nice and the bathrooms newly renovated. Breakfast provided plenty of variety and the food was fresh and well prepared.
Cons: The parking though close by was underground and you need to carry your cases up several flights of stone steps to get to the street, wouldn’t be suitable for the elderly or people with disabilities. Although the public rooms and bedrooms were fine the corridors could do with a revamp.
