They literally charged me for items I didn't agree to. Budget Case: 79716872 Reservation: 40238280US5 Rental Agreement: U218994193 In my recent car rental (ref 12794843 from QEEQ, searched through Kayak), I was charged $381.80 and paid in advance. The bill showed $0 due at pickup. From the vendor, Budget, I received another charge of $263 upon returning the vehicle. For refueling option and an upgrade, I had agreed to neither at pickup. The car was a "mystery car" booked through QEEQ - I had no choice in the vehicle selection, let alone on any upgrade. I specifically declined the refueling option, and returned the vehicle with a full tank.Reviewed 24 Feb 2026

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with renting a car. I had to wait over an hour for the budget employee to find a car for me that I had already reserved. By the time I finally got a car it was not the model I asked for and the car was disgusting and very dirty. Hair all over the seats and it smelled bad. I was paying with a debit card, and due to the fact that I didn't have a credit card they charged me an additional $30 per day for insurance. I was not informed before my rental until I was already there. My mother was extremely sick and I needed to drive to see her, and they were holding this car until I got charged more than advertized.Reviewed 16 Feb 2026

I had the most horrible time getting to budget. The shuttles at the st.Louis airport were all separate so you had to take a shuttle to each company so I had to take 3 shuttles with a baby in a stroller/car seat. The online process was confusing it automatically put me back in St. Louis for drop off so I had to drive 2 and half hours to save 669.00. When I called customer service you can’t understand any of the people on the phone and they give you the wrong info as far as fees go which was scary because I was told I would be charged 900 at the end I was only charged 350. It was a huge mess. I am so dissatisfied and stressed out from the whole situation. On top of that the service desk person at the airport was not helpful at all to get the rental.Reviewed 4 Aug 2025

The confirmation did not clearly state that I could use the fastbreak pass so I waited on line for over 30 minutes to check in when I could've gone straight to the front.
