Pros: Great breakfast buffet

Cons: Only twin bed, mattress and pillow too soft

Cons: Check-in should be from 14 till 18. I came at 15, but the door was closed. I have to call and wait 20 minutes until somebody come. This is off-season, probably, but anyway it was disappointing. Everythting else was fine

Pros: The location was good and there was plenty of parking. Breakfast was simple and enough things to eat for vegetarians. The room was also simple but did the job.

Cons: The listing on Booking.com says it has "Electric vehicle charging station" but this is not true. The property didn't have this and when speaking to the staff, they were telling me there was no such facility and that I would need to charge at a public charger elsewhere. This was extremely annoying as I was specifically booking locations that had electric vehicle charging. When I spoke to the manager later on when he started his shift, he also told me there was no charging facilities. I was about to let it go and just charge at a public charger when he then went on to convince me that diesel was better. I do wonder what his intention was to attempt to convince an electric car owner, that diesel is better. However, this got me a little annoyed and I then pressed him to say that the listing did say electric vehicle charging. He then finally allowed me to plug in my car from an outside plug socket which was used for some decoration lighting. This did the job although the socket was on a timer (due to it being used for the decoration lights) so it turned off in the morning a little earlier than I had planned. I managed to get enough charge to work with though so it wasn't a big deal. Anyway, for anyone else looking to make a booking here using an EV, please check ahead and explicitly confirm that they are okay using the outside plug socket and only book if this is okay.

Pros: room size and all room facilities

Cons: that there was no air conditioning as it was 37 degrees outside

Pros: The owner is so warm and helpful

Cons: room very small

Pros: Comfortable rooms, friendly staff.

Cons: The main entrance was closed at midnight, so it took quite a while and a phone call to find out the night entrance.

Pros: very friendly people, center Essen

Pros: There was the exibition in Koln, all surrounding cityies full. Therefor the price was 170 Eur per night. Therefore my marks are low. Othervise for 50 Eur for example it is not so bad.

Cons: room never was put new towels after cleaning. Even soap was over never kept new one. Things to make tea was never re-filled. All these were there when I stayed there before but not this time.

Pros: We stayed at the hotel for the big games fair in Essen, and for that it was perfectly located only a short drive from the fairground and fair parking lots. Good basic shopping possibilities (supermarkets Aldi and Rewe and a bakery) next doors. Enough parking space at the hotel.

Cons: The appartment was laid out for 4 people (with two sleeping on a bed sofa), but cutlery and crockery was sparse - not enough knives etc for everyone for breakfast, and no bowls (for müsli etc.) or larger serving plates/baskets (for rolls or other food) whatsoever. The fridge was tiny, and did not fit breakfast (butter, youghurt, cheese, milk, sausage) for one family. There were also only two chairs in the apartment.

Pros: The room was quite with a good view into the backyard. There is a supermarket front of the hotel.

Cons: There is not reception in the hotel. If you want to pay cash have to go to the office on 1 km from the hotel. No incl. breakfast.

Cons: the shower, in the beginning, it was wet everywere. also we had the alarm getting of, this took too long to settle, due to the fact that they didn't knew which key was neccesary

Pros: A really nice hotel three tram stops away from the Essen Main Station. This is a, what I would call, self service hotel. There is no reception. Instead when checking in you make a call using a phone on the wall and the operator opens a small locker with keys to the room. There is no full time staff there only the cleaning service during the day. There is also no restaurant. For me it was no problem. The room was nice and clean. There was also a small kitchen annex with a water kettle and a microwave oven. Next to the hotel is a large supermarket open from 05:00 to 22:00 as well as a McDonald's.

Pros: Space and kitchen area. All very new and clean

Cons: I was initially given a ground floor room with no curtains next to the car park. I felt very unsafe. However, I spoke immediately to the staff on the phone reception and they gave me an alternative room with curtains and higher in the building.

Pros: Good sized room. Good bathroom and shower. Cleaning staff did a good job each day.

Cons: Outside dark with no lighting. Internal lighting terrible too with hallway pitch black. Telephone system for checking in was awful and impossible to hear what the person was saying.

Pros: Good value for money. The apartment is quite big, so was quite good for our family of 4.

Pros: The location is good, a tram stops right outside and there is a good grocery store right next door. Had to change rooms because of two bookings, and the cleaning crew did a wonderful job of transferring my luggage between rooms.

Cons: The bed was bad, they only gave me one pillow and one towel (I know I was in a single room, but come on!). Some kind of nightclub outside my window kept me awake one night. And I got some bad misinformation from the desk, resulting in having a worse room the last three days, than I had the first night. Way too pricey, but then again, the were likely cashing in on Essen Spiel.
