Cons: No representative at arrival terminal. No transfer to the car rental location. Tried to force to buy an insurance for twice amount of the rental itself!! Price wasn't final and increased about 50%.
Good car doesn't make up for insurance scam and poor customer service
Pros: We had a Ford Explorer SUV that was able to fit our big group and was clean, drove perfectly, it would have been a 5 star review had there not been poor service with Europcar and the insurance scam they pulled on us
Cons: I rented a SUV from Europcar through carrentals.com I purchased the insurance package through car rentals and when I go to Punta Cana they told me that for the SUV I cannot have the insurance I bought, I must purchase Europcar's insurance package. They also said that they DID NOT have it in writing as to where that actual company policy exists. They also did not have any paperwork that showed the different insurance packages. It seemed very sketchy and when I asked if there was a supervisor to speak to the guy said he was the supervisor. My rental went from being $375 to almost $700 with the little insurance scam. I emailed Europcar's customer service the day it happened, after my 7 day trip I still had not heard anything and still two weeks later have not heard from them.
Cons: When we got there they did not have a 7 passenger vehicle and I had to catch a taxi. waited at the counter for 30 minutes for someone from their company to show up
Cons: Wouldn't let me use my Capitol one card coverage on insurance. Said I had to get a bank statement

Pros: Because Europcar didn't have the same car I reserved, they gave me a similar one that may have been an upgrade.
Cons: Insisted I pay for insurance which tripled the cost of this rental. I have insurance on many personal vehicles as well as coverage from my credit card. RIP OFF
Why is renting a car international such a headache

Cons: Got pressured to getting a insurance I didn't want car rental went from $86 bucks to $300 dollars. I only wanted liability insurance which should have brought the total to around $150. These guys pretty much force you and tell you you have to get this or that or go without a car. Couldn't pay with a debit card he to be a credit card and then the deposit just a bunch of nonsense to get the most out of you. So $300 dollars just for a Kia Rio for 4 days smh they should have given me an SUV for that price rediculous
Cons: Was quoted $92. Then when we got to the counter it was over $350!!! They wanted to charge me $50 a day for basic insurance! More than double the rental itself!
Cons: I purchased insurance online when booking. At the pick-up stand, they claimed to have no record of my insurance purchase and charged me twice.
Pros: The car was new and in good condition.
Cons: I had to wait till 9am to pick up it instead 8 am as has to be opening hour. I had to pay additional insurance - which I do not know about and my insurance from Allianz (bought together with car rental) was not accepted.
