I reserved an intermediate SUV. Got email confirmation from kayak. Went to Hertz and they had reserved for me a small EV. Not big enough to fit my family. They told me if i wanted a bigger car i would have to pay more. They had no record of me requesting an intermediate SUV. They told me that I would have to talk to Kayak to get a refund. They told me they are unable to process refunds and that kayak is responsible for that. I am not sure that is true. I called hertz national customer service and they said they would refund but didnt give me a specific confirmation number. We ended up not getting the car. Pros:It was great on the Burlington, VT end. The worst at the New Bern, NC endCons:Got to New Bern, NC to return the car and no attendant could be found. Waited almost an hour and no one showed at the counter nor did they answer phone when I tried that. Left key and car. Receipt emailed me charged different rates than quoted thru Hertz on paperwork when car picked up. Tried calling Hertz and couldn’t get a person. Will call Credit card company to negate charges.Reviewed 16 May 2021

Pros:The car quality and initial service was stellar.Cons:There was a $300 unexplained charge on my card as well as and increase that surpassed what was shared upon upgrading my initial reservation - totaling 3 separate payments, 1 of which was sensible, the next which was a more-pricey-than-disclosed upgrade, and the last seemingly unwarranted. I'll be reaching out to the customer support team for an explanation on the last payment, but I was very disappointed in the general lack of accurate information regarding costs throughout.Reviewed 16 Apr 2021

Pros:The vehicle was very nice for a "Suppliers Choice" vehicle.Cons:Hertz counter person was not knowledgeable and had issues running my physical apple card (also offered to pay by apple pay if easier), and said she could not run my other card even though it was not being run as debit. To make matters worse, as of writing this, the total charges on my credit card are $494.00 on a $94.00 rental. I was charged $294.00 the day of the rental, and have since been charged an additional $100, 2 separate times, multiple days after dropping the car back off (early). I have not been able to reach Hertz customer support as of yet via online chat, phone, or email. I understand that $294 deposit taking a few days to be corrected, but have no idea why I've been charged an extra $200 on top of it.Reviewed 2 Nov 2020
