BEWARE! We used Kayak to reserve a mini car, a SmartCar or similar. When we arrived in France, we had been assigned a mini - an ELECTRIC one. I have no issue with this in theory, but the car had only a 150 km range per charge, and charging would give us 15-20 km per hour of charging! This would never work for our purposes, and there were no charging stations at most of our hotels/gites. The staff could not seem to understand that this wouldn´t work for us, and then charged us four times the original cost to rent a diesel car, because they only had SUVs available. We had no choice, as we needed to get on the road, but when I checked my original rental paperwork, there was nothing to indicate that we would have limited mileage or an electric car. I would never book a rental car through kayak again, and I expect Hertz to compromise on the price of the car if I cannot drive it more than 150 km per day.Reviewed 12 Oct. 2022

After a long overnight flight out Car broke down within and hour in a small town in France. We waited 1 hour for a tow truck. Then we were told to wait for a replacement van. One hour later we were informed there are no replacements. No help from hertz to get back to Paris and we were left to navigate the trains on our own with luggage. We we still awaiting answer on refund. DO NOT RENT FEOM HERTZ. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.Reviewed 26 Dec. 2021

Cons:This is the worst Hertz location I have ever been to. We waited in line to speak to an agent and as soon as we got to the front the person got up and walked away. Car not as advertised...Pros:Clean car and easy pick up.Cons:Kayak stated an Opal Vivaro or similar which is passenger van. Our car from Hertz was a small Ford C Max, which is in a whole different class. Taking the similar aside, Hertz stated the vehicle seated 7 plus luggage. If you consider one small handbag luggage, then sure it fits luggage. Slightly dissppaointed and had to re arrange travels due to the other than “similar” Car.Reviewed 21 Jun. 2018
