BEWARE! We used Kayak to reserve a mini car, a SmartCar or similar. When we arrived in France, we had been assigned a mini - an ELECTRIC one. I have no issue with this in theory, but the car had only a 150 km range per charge, and charging would give us 15-20 km per hour of charging! This would never work for our purposes, and there were no charging stations at most of our hotels/gites. The staff could not seem to understand that this wouldn´t work for us, and then charged us four times the original cost to rent a diesel car, because they only had SUVs available. We had no choice, as we needed to get on the road, but when I checked my original rental paperwork, there was nothing to indicate that we would have limited mileage or an electric car. I would never book a rental car through kayak again, and I expect Hertz to compromise on the price of the car if I cannot drive it more than 150 km per day.Reviewed 12 Oct. 2022

In general, everything was great for this one month car rental. Clean, easy, loved the car. However, I had two times where I needed to reach Hertz and was either unable to do so or when I reached them they were profoundly unhelpful. If you have any emergencies or even just questions, do not expect excellent customer service - it appears you are on your own.Reviewed 1 Sep. 2022

The two ladies at the rental counter were horrible. They managed to get two cars rented in an hour, while a single person at Europecar rented 10 and the AvIs people cleared out a line of 15. Will never rent from Hertz again. The whole operation at Paris airport needs to be revamped.Reviewed 22 Jul. 2022

We had a car accident in our rental vehicle and we tried to contact the rental car company, Hertz, via all of the phone numbers and email provided in the rental contract agreement and have not received any replies or communication from them. Pick up was wonderful.drop off was awful. I spent two hours trying to reach the office to ask if o could extend my contract. When I finally reached someone, they said that my contract was already closed (it was 3 hours before drop off time) and that I had to return the car immediately or Hertz may call the police. He gave mea number to call that what useless. When I arrived at the airport to return it, the office was closed (it was 12pm). Very frustratingReviewed 10 Jul. 2022
