I just accepted the noon pickup time not realizing the store closed at noon. I got there at 12:45 the store was closed. The workers were still in the store, but they refused to rent me the car. I paid for insurance and I need the money back. The confirmation email did not have the stores hours in it. When I spoke with Hertz customer service, they insisted the confirmation email told me the store hours, but it did not.Reviewed 24 Apr. 2023

Pick up time was scheduled for when the store was closedPros:NothingCons:I chose a 12:00 noon pickup time when scheduling my rental. When I showed up at noon the store was closed. This was a Saturday, and they wouldn't open again until Monday. This rental was for my family vacation that we had been looking forward to for months. After more than 2 hours on the phone with Hertz they proved to have very poor customer service skills or ability to assist me in any way. I ended up having to rent a car about 25 miles away from me for 3x the price from a different company. I do not recommend renting through Kayak (or any other travel site) - they don't communicate well with the actual company and the car rental company doesn't see any of the information you provided through Kayak. Find the deal on Kayak and then go directly to the car rental website and book directly through that company.Reviewed 23 Jul. 2018

Poor customer service - poor qualityPros:The location of the business was convenient right off the highway. That was the only thing convenient about dealing with HERTZ.Cons:The Manager at this location should take a course in Customer Service. When I arrived they told me I couldn't get the car I booked AND paid for because it was paid on a debit card. I advised him that this card could be used for credit OR debit but he simply said "NO". He had no solutions to offer and did not even try to help the situation. I told him I could put the deposit on an actual credit card as I only used the other card because it wasn't clear that I shouldn't at the time of booking. He said "NO". I said what can I do...he said..."I don't know what to tell you...you need to call this 1 800 number to see if they can help...I can't". Bottom line...after much stress and NO help we left to figure out another solution. Fortunately right down the road we found another rental company which actually new how to service their customers. We got a better car at a lower rate and were on our way about 20 minutes later. Never again will I consider doing business with HERTZ.Reviewed 9 Aug. 2017

Cons:When I arrived at Hertz, they did not have a car in class available, and offered me something of smaller class or wait two hours for my chosen car. I declined, cancelled and was told it would take 10 -14 days to get my money back/ although they managed to get my payment the same day.Reviewed 3 Jun. 2017
