Their online check-in system is badly broken; took about 20 tries before it worked, including some attempts that took 10+ minutes of wait (which failed). The vehicles reeked of cigarette smoke (if was nauseating) but I was not warned at all that the vehicle was a smoking vehicle. Again and I again I find my experience with Hertz just frustrating overall. I would not recommend it to anyone.Reviewed 30 Mar 2024

Pros:Friendly and helpful staff a Hertz location at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport.Cons:This car rental was similar to two other car rentals I have experienced in Wichita during the past two months. Enterprise, Avis and Hertz all promised a minivan or large suv. Enterprise cancelled on me one day before I needed the rental, telling me two renters had not returned vehicles. Avis and Hertz only had smaller capacity vehicles available. It seems there exists a bait-and-switch approach to car rentals in Wichita, Kansas.Reviewed 29 Apr 2021

Wow does this company nick and dime you!Pros:The car and pick-up/drop-off were fineCons:The original price online was 49.90. When I added some insurance and prepaid the fuel, they levied a whole bunch of taxes and fees and it added $125 to the rental. Maybe all car rental places do this kind of stuff but, wow, was I disappointed with how much they charged. Would not rent from Hertz again. Customer service was very rude and impatient as well. Beware of pet policyCons:Took my cat on my trip. They told me they have a no pet policy after I returned the car and wanted me to pay extra for clean up. I cleaned the car and they did not charge me extra. They also mentioned they have a no smoking policy. There are no no smoking stickers in the car (I don't smoke, just an observation). I looked through the contract. It does state no smoking but I did not see anything about pets. I normally return a car fairly clean so I probably should have cleaned the cat hair in the car in the first place to be honest.Reviewed 25 Jul 2017

No insurance neededPros:Everything about the car rental was awesome - just wish I didn't waste my money on the insurance. The agent was helpful and friendly. Pickup and drop off both went quickly and without a glitch. It was very nice having the cars right at the airport rather than needing to be transported to an off site location!Reviewed 18 May 2017

Cons:A flight was delayed from Chicago to Wichita. I called and talked to Hertz at 10:30 pm and they told me someone would stay at the airport so my candidate coming in would have a car. The candidate ended up at the airport at 2:00 a m and Hertz was closed so he rented a car from another company. I have not figured out to get a refund.Reviewed 3 May 2017
