Pros: This was a beautiful hotel.

Cons: We had a three person room and the twin bed was an AIR MATTRESS! It was deflated when we got in the room and had to call the desk to get someone to fill it back up. Over the course of the night it deflated to the point it was like sleeping on a hammock.. the desk should have given a major discount for this clearly (or so I would hope) over booking of triple rooms.

Pros: magnificent position view, beautiful building

Cons: Some service staff during breakfast were rushed, unfriendly and not accommodating. We ordered some dishes, but it never cames. Breakfast is the most important moment of the day for me and when I am at the hotel I like to have a good and friendly service.

Pros: Room really well laid out with great facilities and tastefully done. Great Bar. Staff throughout hotel were friendly and helpful. Great location.

Cons: Position of shower and the mechanism which was not at all intuitive.

Pros: The location of Hotel des Balances is amazing deep in old town Lucern, and absolutely gorgeous inside. We were in a room with a balcony facing the river and it was absolutely spectacular. We were greeted with a voucher for two free drinks at the bar, enjoyed on our aforementioned balcony! The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room clean with lovely toiletries. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Someone even comes to the door in the evening to ask if you need anything and give you chocolates! Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will certainly be back!

Pros: Had a beautiful room with spectacular views over the river. And we could open our doors onto the small balcony. The position was in the beautiful old town and conveniently near to the station and busses. We had supper in the hotel and it was superb.

Pros: Perfectly located in the city of Lucerne the hotel offers all the comfort of a four star hotel. The rooms are not too big, but well equipped, clean and quiet.

Cons: Breakfast was not included. All other similarly priced hotels we stayed in Italy and Switzerland included breakfast. Faucet desgn for sink basin made it difficult to use the sink. Spout protrudes too far into the sink.

Pros: The hotel is located 7 minutes from the central station by walk on the noisy street. Very close to the historical center (5minutes). The rooms was very small, the bathroom is divided by the curtains. The hotel and rooms have very non traditional style. The breakfast was superb, a great selection of breads, patisseries, cheese, ham, fruits etc. You can make your own fresh juice. The staff on the reception were very nice/helpful. I could leave the luggage on the reception after checking-out.

Cons: The waiters in the restaurant were not the professionals.

Cons: No breakfast except coffee machine self service a few sandwiches and cold milk in a fridge due to limitation COVID .... The night before when we arrived many many guests were sitting at the bar and were served....with no “limitation” ... we booked hotel with clear statement breakfast included. Have to say that due to the fees paid I was expecting a great breakfast. Especially taken recent comments from guest saying that breakfast was just great over there. Really disappointed. We’ve met another guest and was disappointed too. For same reason...Was better to get no mention on breakfast included during the booking and align the night fees in accordance. We left the hotel and get a great breakfast in another place close to the lake. Disappointed as we paid for room and breakfast and we had to take breakfast somewhere else and pay. Another element that I will clarify with booking team, why the picture of booked room in my reservation profile changed after we complained that the room given at the hotel was not corresponding with our booked room. Fortunately I’ve done screenshot before they changed for evidences...I’m surprised about such situation. I’m customer since long time with booking and first time this happen... and in the country I’m resident!
